Day 2 at the Almond Hotel Bassac River started with an unusual breakfast item. Chantal decided to experiment a bit, and she ordered chicken feet for breakfast! Of course, she had no idea what she was getting, and to no one’s surprise, she couldn’t touch them, even though they are a national delicacy in Cambodia.
Our first stop of the day was the National Museum of Cambodia. We thought we’d escape the heat but little did we know they wouldn’t have AC. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our tour, but we do recommend hiring a guide, especially if you are coming with children.
On our way out, we decided to grab ice cream, visit a local cat cafe (Angelique’s favorite) and continued exploring the streets of Phnom Penh.
Walking around, we noticed an interesting hotel whose walls were covered with art installations dedicated to raising awareness regarding sweatshop factories in Cambodia.
We ended the day with a stroll around the night market and headed back to our hotel.
The next day, there was another amazing culinary experience in store for us. The amazing Master Chef Luu Meng we mentioned in the first Phnom Penh video invited us to another of his restaurants.
This time we were guests of the World Dining Restaurant, where we also had the honor to meet this food virtuoso. We enjoyed a mouthwatering feast that was equally incredible to see and digest.
The cherry on top was the home-brewed coffee that really hit a spot, especially for Chantal, who loves a good cup of coffee.
From the restaurant, we headed over to a massive real estate development called Borey Peng Huoth. We learned about the interesting origin of the project and toured the center which was being built to resemble the famous squares of Europe.
Next, we returned to the city to visit the Cambodia Royal Palace. The entrance to the Palace cost us $10 each and required modest clothing to enter.
In the evening, we attended a Cambodian Living Art Show where we watched dancers perform in traditional clothing. What an epic day in Phnom Penh!
Overall we had a great time in Cambodia and look forward to visiting again soon.

The Royal Palace only in name the former king and queen live in China the king lives in France. No Royal family have lived in the palace for years.
Those mansions is like putting your dirt jeans in the washing machine and forgetting about your wallet when the washing is done you realize all your money has been laundered now clean jeans and money

When you realize the palace pagoda is nothing impressive in comparison to the other 4000 they have spread out each better than the last. I like the ones built beside the water falls. You can really see how the entire country previously had mastered irrigation manipulation and management to supply water for agriculture

Love you guys. I’m enjoying the travels with you. Isn’t Lu Meng the owner behind the legendary Malis Restaurant in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap? Wow, he branched out quite a bit. He has money now. I hope he gives some time to teaching nutrition of Khmer food in schools.
The houses in that high end neighborhood looks gaudy as heck. Nothing screams more new money than all that ostentatiousness. I hope some of these wealthy business people are thoughtful and smart and will invest in a solar panel and battery storage business because Cambodia has plenty of sun and the rain surely will keep the panels clean. All the roofs in Cambodia should have solar panels on them. There’s already a company called ONION that is selling electric tuk tuks. See if you can catch a ride in one. It might be too small for all of you guys though. Maybe flag down two of them?

Free advertisement for master chef. But just wanted to comment that dim sum is a normal cuisine for chinese found every where. Looks good though.
I suggest you visit koh rong. It's a beautiful white sand beach.

I had a cat named Taz it had the most beautiful markings similar to the cat in the window, Taz was a big huge cat with a white belly, had huge paws and would snore and grunt when he would head butt me. My friends would laugh how cool my cat was. Peace!✌
