At least he's not all yelling about how "dank" they are and how some of them are amazing this and "no cap homie" you should for sure use this "banging ass scope here"... I mean he does an awesome job of articulating which scopes are better in what situation.. I personally enjoyed it and it's helped me as I just started playing the game..

    The sepia amber optics, while seeming unimpressive at close range, are amazing for spotting hiding enemies at long range in Warzone (the orange border around human targets becomes incredibly thick and easy to see), and are some of the most commonly equipped optics right now for that very reason.

    • @FavstaRGaming
      @FavstaRGaming  Год назад +39

      Interesting point, the glowing border does actually seem to scale up with range. That would have been a good speaking point for the video. Thanks for the info!

    • @richardbixler

      Also, the B&W optics seem to have a lower refresh rate or strobing effect that makes tracking targets very difficult.

      @@FavstaRGaming also the toggling can be useful for seeing through heavy grenade smoke. Smaller things like molotovs and grenades clear pretty quickly, but cruise missles and other kill streaks leave thick long lasting smoke that obscure thermal sights for a while. I'd recommend turning it off during that time period

    Haven't had a chance to test if it holds zero, but mounts just fine and has nice clear glass. Centered vertically true to a plumb line with the crosshairs which is always a plus!It's a great ruclips.net/user/postUgkxc4K63Fd5LglDMObu7-Bgapxp_ef0W8hE scope. There's no parallax adjustment or focus ring, so may be limited to 3-7x, have to see how it is on the range. Also be aware that the rings are "look through" so you can still use irons, but they are really tall if you only intend to use the optics. On a 22LR no biggie since I'm not shooting competitions or worried about a hard cheek press. Will boresight and range test, if all goes well, I'll leave it at that!

    The SZ Holotherm is my favorite, even at medium-long range. No "Sniper Glint", but the outline gives enough contrast that you can still make your long-range adjustments as needed. Also it can go on a couple of the actual sniper rifles for one-shot/quick scope builds. Also I almost exclusively use the Drexsom Prime for long range sniping because of the reasons listed in the video, plus the fact that it only has a medium sniper glint, which can make a huge difference in longer-range encounters (such as in DMZ or Warzone 2)

    I mainly play 6v6 multiplayer and the SZ Holotherm has been my choice after seeing this guide and testing all the optics myself. If you tune the optic to be all the way to the "near" side of eye relief you'll probably have the highest FOV of any of the thermal optics. Pair it with the compact rifle stocks for faster ADS movement and you can corner push a pre-smoked corner and pretty much win any popular camping spot (e.g the Mercado Las Almas 2nd story restaurant [window and/or balcony side])

    LOL,I'm here 4 mins after posting on a fave subject of mine! Yay, a thermal video!
    ... funny, I'm an actual thermal camera collector in real life, so this is cool to see. I also obsess over thermals in game, though they arent fully realistic and would be way more powerful....
    Notes by me:
    Sepia amber in game isn't like sepia thermals, it appears to be a type of fusion night vision thermal device, in a overlay form factor
    One thing they actually get right, thermal does not see thru normal glass, that's when to disable it or use something else
    I noticed infinity ward had an not-unlockable SZ aggressor IR optic that they now have fully removed
    Teplo scopes are not Arctic, but true fusion night vision thermal colors( I own actual Arctic palette thermals)
    I wanted to say despite my nits, I am subbed and love the stuff you cover. Nearly no one else covered thermals for the game in this way, it is badly needed!
    Signed, a person who has spent way too much on thermals and geeky stuff
    My pref is dresxom prime, but i can work with any, though the dim overlay fusion ones i dislike heavily, but oh well, thermal is thermal., ill use them all. If only they were as good contrast and range wise as real life thermal( real thermal is hard to obscure)
    LOL the thumbnail on this vid ROFL

I have found very little to no info on bullet penetration with AP. Does it change with different calibers? example, 338 lapua will naturally have greater penetration power than 9mm? Does 5.7x28mm have a penetration bonus? And how about when you put on armor piercing rounds, how much does it change? and we can't forget about the AP pickup perk, does this do more penetration than AP rounds you can put on your gun? And what about incendiary bullets? Do these do more flinch than all the other bullets?

      I'm assuming you mean the long ranges you can get in Warzone, they don't appear lose thermal properties at range, targets just get smaller and you wind up seeing other heat sources, like burning buildings, cars etc... the enemies don't 'pop' like they did during the Warzone 1 thermal meta.

    "No reason whatsoever to use the 3x nightvision scope" Cmon you gloss over the fact it's the only optic in the game with a 3x-8x zoom. If I remember right this also gives you the lowest possible zoom level on some snipers. I really like your videos so I'd hate to see you fall into the same hole of Xclusive Ace and the like of "this is the best" "this 1 stat is the only one that matters" "no reason whatsoever" "useless" etc instead of thinking about all the angles. But again you're doing criminally underrated work, don't get me wrong. Edit: I was also hoping you'd talk about some of the finer details of the optics' visuals like movement trails (refresh rate), bullet impacts, muzzle flash, etc.

    • @FavstaRGaming
      @FavstaRGaming  Год назад +6

      Interesting angle about the 3x. I was more focussed on the thermal aspects of the scopes for this video and trying to keep it as short and sweet as possible. I am planning another more generalized video about optics in which I detail all the penalties (Ads time, Aim Walking Movement Speed and Glint) which is more applicable when your talking about all the Optics. It’s actually interesting because the movement penalties scale with zoom level… but that’s for another day :)

    The glitched SZ Holotherm is only 3.5x? I did some non-scientific testing and it definitely zooms in further than the VLK 4.0x but not as much as the hybrid SZ Holotherm at 4.8x. I feel it's around 4.5x.
    Not only is the zoom in glitched on the SZ Holotherm, there's no glint at all.

    • @FavstaRGaming
      @FavstaRGaming  Год назад

      After doing the math it came out at 3.45 so I rounded up, the game uses a weird system for calculating zoom. It's not simple to figure out because even iron sights actually zoom in when you ADS. I used the same scale that the game seems to use for the optics that have a stated zoom. But of course I'm only human and may have made in error, it wouldn't be the first time lol. Thanks for watching.

    • @Moue666
      @Moue666 Год назад

      @@FavstaRGaming I just did some "testing" and the SZ Holotherm is not impacted by the ADS FOV: Independent/Affected options. I'm playing on 115 FOV and it zooms in the same for both options. However, the VLK 4.0 and Schlager 3.4 definitely zoom in less with ADS FOV: Affected but zoom in more with the ADS FOV: Independent. Either way the SZ Holotherm zoom in is glitched because even with ADS FOV: Independent, it zooms in much further than a normal red dot/holographic.
      EDIT: Another bizarre "glitch" with the Holotherm I found: if you use the Weapon Tuning to change the eye position to either Close or Far, when you toggle the thermal, the tuning gets "reset". For example, if I tune the eye position to "Far", when I toggle the thermal off the eye position resets to either 0 or goes to "Close". The opposite happens when you tune it to "Close", if you toggle the thermal, the gun and eye position go to the "Far" position.
      Anyway, I'm obsessed with this glitched sight lol. I just wanted a cool red cross reticle without needing to use the hybrid version that gives you scope glint even if you aren't using the magnifier.

    • @FavstaRGaming
      @FavstaRGaming  Год назад

      @@Moue666 yes it's a glitchy optic for sure, I did my calculations at 80 FOV (default) to try and rule out any inconsistencies with wider FOV. It appears that the Holotherm is 'stuck' in 'Independent mode' which would essentially boost its magnification level for long ranges but increase visual recoil.
