You showed me that my pain can help someone in the future. That makes things worth living. I am 42, and i've lived a life of a lot of suffering and loneliness. I also take responsibility for my actions because i know i did cause some of this suffering. You and your song gave me something to hope for. Its dark now, very dark. But there is light on the horizon that we should all look forward to. Thank you Talk, i mean that.
Something I've done that has helped me at 48 is I started really listening to other people's stories and always ended our encounters with a really big, sincere hug. Total fucking strangers. Strike up a conversation. Share some truths and share a hug. When it's real they'll know and hug you back. For us suicidals, I've started to learn that the path to our salvation involves letting go of our problems and 120% embracing someone else's. It's finding purpose at that moment. It's taking your shit out of the equation and taking someone else's weight off of their shoulders. It feels good when it's real. And when it feels good, it feels good. Period. We HAVE to nourish our souls as much as our bodies. We have to exercise our heart muscles as much as our other muscles. Think about it and be honest. The happiest people are the ones who are cherished by many. They didn't get that way by being selfish and lonely. They didn't get that way by being a victim, either by someone else or more times than not, by their own hands. It's harder for people like us who are depressed or suicidal, due to either genetics or life experiences but it's still possible for us. Look at Talk. How much is he loving life right now? Why is he loving life? He is loved because he took himself out of the equation. Now it's all about his family, his friends, his music, and his fans. He's not spending a single minute thinking about his problems. He's carrying a lot of his fans' weight for them. He's lightening their load the best way he knows how. And I'm willing to bet he's a pretty good hugger.
