I live on Vancouver Island, it was a life long dream. What I didn't realize was how the island was 90+% owned by logging companies. 😳
There are large steel gates everywhere to keep people out of the woods. The logging companies don't want citizens to see the devastation happening before our eyes. Trees are left by the roads we are allowed to drive, so it looks pretty good until you fly over the island and see how much it's been scalped!

Bruh, google literally provides free, daily-updated satellite images of the entire earth. Anyone on earth can see this is happening. You don't have to drive up a logging road for an hour to see this happening.

I am in no way here to promote the practices of these companies . Although in regards to the slash piles I am strictly assuming that there are there left to dry out. Dried materials are easier to chip and lower moisture levels means less water weight to transport , which makes them more economical viable. There is even evidence of such practices, in previous clips you can see them processing slash piles, and the landscape has is covered in regrowth something that would take a handful of years. Other then that great presentation really brought forward problematic issues within our global energy system.

Farmland that otherwise would be growing food is growing corn for ethanol

I'm a dental hygienist, walked to work and back, vegetarian diet 50 % of the time. And I floss and effectively care for my teeth health etc. Ill put it to you this way, until all of the developed world are flossing etc etc etc. We will never get on top of this. Imagine if we all flossed had free 2 x year dental hygiene visits within our healthcare. Go so far as to fluoridating the water and BINGO = healthy un-decayed teeth and NO GUM DISEASE! I've seen it with my own eyes in Fort St John, BC Canada. After 30 years of nothing but disease and dental dysfunction. Hey what about a dental hygienist in every public school system lets start there. This would go so far in preserving the planet. Lets face it if we have such ill will and neglect and little knowledge about our own teeth. Steven Harper PM had an ill fitting #21 crown. Best dental coverage in the country. Looked awful. What does that tell you and we want to fix the planet. Start here second to the planet, its one of the few things we all have in common and for the most part 100 % a preventable disease. Most people brush their teeth daily but haven't a clue why or how to! Kind of like our planet!
