While I thought that the product itself was quite good, I thought that the instruction manual was as clear as mud. Thank you so much for posting this video!!
Just bought one of these trimmers and I just have to say thank you for explaining this the way you do. The manual isn't much help. You just gained a subscriber.
This was so helpful, thanks! Instruction manuals make no sense to me, I need visuals!!! This is my first trimmer and I can't wait to get out there and use it.
I just bought one today, I love it, then again my previous trimmer was a Homelite electric trimmer so the time I saved from not having to deal with the power cord and the immense power of it in comparison meant a boring 30 min chore became a fun 7 min weekend activity
Bought mine yesterday and after watching your video today, I started it up no problem. Thanks so much! Now looking for your video on changing over the heads to a spool string instead of the 8" strings.
Thank you so much for the video. This is my first gas trimmer after using battery pack rayobi version, and this is already much better. Today i learned.
For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself. Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.
I Appreciate you I just got my own house and never had a dad and my mom lived in apartments our whole lifes I got this and a mower as a gift didn't know where to start
Definitely considering to buy this trimmer next spring, I love that rapid loader head attachment, much better to reset the string on that echo vs my current gas homelite trimmer, mine has a bump feed, and I’m sick of resetting that bump feed head, it’s very frustrating to reset that trimmer line, Much appreciated the this review, very helpful.
Picked up one of these for $15 at a yard sale yesterday bc they didn't like the bent shaft. Practically brand new. Super happy on that deal! Great video TY
Thank you for the detailed explanation, because if I had to rely on the enclosed 'instructions', I'd be screwed! (let's just say I am mechanically challenged and am trying to upgrade from a battery-operated trimmer.) :-)
I just bought this trimmer today. My first impression is that it is super awkward. First off, I did a 20' section along my concrete patio and I changed the string 6 times!! Also, the angle of the trimming head is so weird. You cant see the wheel past the guard and you have to hold the edger in a weird up and down angle to get the trimmer angle correct.
Great explanation! The manual no where near tells you to cut off line at a specific length! I was trying to figure out where and how to put the excess line on the spool! Factory explanation describe nothing close to how you install the line! Manufacturer needs to take note on your explanation, which is exactly how it’s installed. Thanks for the info! Much appreciated. Have a great day.
I always thought you put the complete cotter pin through the hole and then bend the long side of the split around the shaft. To split the pin before passing it through the hole would seem to weaken the pin.
I see this trimmer has 21 cc, my old homelite trimmer that couldn't handle very tall or thick weeds/grass was 26 cc, it would bogg down and overheat. This makes me believe that although this is more expensive it's not very powerful compared to my old homelite, and that I may be unsatisfied with it's performance. Is there a better more powerful high end eco/huskvarna trimmer that you would recommend?
I just bought that GT model and also a blade. I just noticed on the blade package, it says blade is compatible with SRM models, but it does not list the GT. Is there a blade for the GT-225?
I just purchased this one and it begins to smoke and not stay on. I am using the 50:1 mix Trufuel. I did everything you did in the video and it just doesn't stay on. Plus the smoke does not seem normal to me. Should I return it ?
If I were you I’d pick up the echo speed feed 400 string head and replace the head that’s currently on the GT-225. I have a video coming out soon on swapping the heads.
I actually don't like the longer shaft. I'm 5'1" & this thing is so uncomfortable to hold, I have to hold the trigger nearly up to my armpit. There is no way to shorten? 😕
I have a piece of black string on the outside of the head (where one of the indentations is). There is no piece on the other side of the head to pull out. Weed-eater only came with one piece of orange string inserted. Any suggestions?
Both 225's are junk because the head won't keep the precut strings locked in place. They come out every 2 to 5 minutes. Then you spend the next 10 minutes putting the strings back in
Some Echo curve shaft trimmers seem too short for a tall person. So, its best to check out Echo trimmers at the store, to see how they fit with you before you buy.

Couldn’t agree more. The instructions were crap.
Finally someone explained what needs to be done ✅

Bought one today, 5-15-23, straight shaft, @ Home Depot. $229+tax. Thanks for the video.

Thank you so much. Was trying figure this weed Wacker out at a relatives to help with yard work. Excellent and clear explanation!
What an awesome video. Thank you so much for explaining the ins and outs of the echo GT 225.

Awesome, thorough explanation. You are a great teacher, thank you for this!!
Thanks for this first time homeowner and buying all sorts of equipment and you just gained a subscriber thanks
That's the weed eater I have been using for awhile. It has been very reliable for a couple of seasons.
Thank you! You're video got me set up and working in my yard!

As someone who JUST paid full price for it, I envy you lol.
I found an old one from 2011 a few days ago on the side of the street and it still runs good
To start the weed wacker, fill up with gas, turn the ignition on, move the choke to full and pull the start handle 😉
No way 😱
Just paid $35 for mine like 👍 👌

Don't understand why they run so rough n it seems to be normal cuz yours is... brand new!! Can you explain why n if it's something to do...
my man looks like Alex jones lol
i wonder if i could put a hanger piece or a guitar string in there..metal one so it doesnt need replacing

This video was sooo helpful. Thank you 💚
Thanks bro that was helpful . TY
Really informative thanks. And no its not California law to read the warning but I might be wrong, we have laws about everything.
This trimmer is quiter than the other one I have. That's a plus for sure. Any idea why it is quiter than most?
Thanks for the video! Good info
You can buy that trimmer with the speed feed pre installed
How has this been holding up for you?
How easy to start after 2 years? Thank you.
really helped

I only have one question. The handle. Is it supposed to be loose?
Thank you so much
Great clip
I’m thinking with the rapid load dirt and grass would clog up the mechanism ?
Thank you. You're a great help.
I have one actually bought one very fancy I bought
Thanks 😊

Mines not turning on for some reason and I’ve done all of the steps. Any help?

What type of gas exactly do you use to mix with the oil ? Please help me
Recreational fuel
Because the string never lasts and is useless do you any advice on another weed trimmer to buy?
If I were you I’d pick up the echo speed feed 400 string head and replace the head that’s currently on the GT-225. I have a video coming out soon on swapping the heads.

If you do all u said and the unit do not start, what do u do?
Can you put the link where we can find it
Does the engine assembly rotate around the shaft?
Gee was hoping for a quick demo
I have used @1 before and now just purchased 1 of these and followed directions and it flooded out 😢😢
Got mine “brand new” , acts as if it under powered, bogs down under any load

Get a shindaiwa M262

Idk why echo even made these curved trimmers, that’s the only trimmer by them that sucks

Thank you!!
igot one used today for $55
Thank you so much
Thanks 👍🏻
