- Father and son directing duo, Ivan and Jason Reitman, sat down to have a conversation at Ghostbusters Fan Fest, and brought a few never before seen surprises with them with alternate takes from the original movie. This is part two of this raw unedited footage, featuring unseen clips from the Sedgewick hotel busting and a discussion of working with Bill Murray.
#gb20 #ghostbusters #ghostbustersfanfest
I'm glad Ivan is still so passionate about Ghostbusters after all these years. Everything is so commercial today. The passion seems to be missing from a lot of projects.
Oh man, after those last few lines to his dad, I don't even care if it turns out terrible. You know Jason's heart is in the right place. For his fans... for his dad.
_My best to the Coven, friend._
I got choked up when Ivan broke down, and his son coming to comfort him. I can't wait to see this next film. It's gonna be the ultimate in fan service. #GB20 Gonna be the best movie of 2020. I've got this feeling. :-)
As John said, we don't need fan service. That gives you Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull.
@John Sabp It's true that fan service might destroy a movie goers' interest.
However it's a new, fresh, and most likely a reunion story from the original first-two Ghostbusters film. From the Ecto-1, Egon's equipment, music, sound effects, tone, familiar characters and practical effects. It'll be like Creed, but with ghost busting.
That and he may have remembed his friend / Egon
Too bad, but maybe in 2021 when it finally comes out?
That really choked me up, I think it really got to him how special it all was and what a great time he had on set. I hope he gets to be on set as much as he wants for the new one and make many more great memories
I felt his emotion. it's like he was not just talking about the movie but the good times they had.
WOW. I thought GBTVG was the best thing to happen to GB'84 fans until now. This single clip is incredible. Seeing father and son in this clip is beyond words. Ivan Reitman never gets emotional, to see this moment between father and son is beyond incredible. Jason is awesome. This single clip made it worthwhile to be a fan of GB'84 for 35 years.
I just wanted to give Ivan a huge hug when he was about to cry.we love you Ivan! And Jason!
I absolutely adore the loving father/son relationship they have together. So touching. This really gives me a lot of hope for and makes me really look forward to July 10, 2020.
You can really see how much this franchise means to the two of them. I've got to admit, I'm not that excited about the new film being made, but this, this insight into the two of them and how much they really have their hearts into the films gives me hope. :)
It was years before i noticed Egon motioning to Peter how much to charge the hotel.
Digga Dirt such a subtle but hilarious bit.
Me2
Haha same here. So obvious at the same time tho wasn't it lol
My brother was the one who noticed & told me.
It was cropped out of the VHS release, so I didn't see it until DVDs came out!
"I came, I saw, I came again!" xD
I went to see Ghostbusters in 1984 (aged 14) six times at least in the week it was released and absolutely enthralled and fell in love the story, characters, witty writing and special effects - Even though Ghostbusters is 35 years old it still feels fresh and it's still producing some new surprises! - Can't wait to see Ghostbusters 3 in 2020 😁👍
was it worth the wait?
My god how embarrassing... I’m on the train to work right now and this video moved me to tears!! 😂 😭 😂
Take 10 minutes to watch this properly until the end to see why.
Ghostbusters worked for the same reason that Citizen Kane worked so well. The cast of Citizen Kane was the Mercury Theatre group and they were very familiar with each other. Which is why the core members of the ghostbusters actually seemed like a team that had history with each other.
Can you imagine if Belushi would’ve been in it? It’s like what if Pryor would’ve been in Blazing saddles, great could’ve been even greater.
I might cry if they do even the slightest tribute to Harold Ramis. RIP Egon
"I came, I saw, I came again" is right up there with the nerve gas line and "nice clavicles."
the 3 people that did not like this must just hate every thing
butthurt GB 2016 fans...
Even through the video i can still feel the energy and positive vibes there with so many people celebrating this amazing film and especially Ivan and his Son participating with the fans and i just wanna hug them both and thank them so much for it. I think i can speak for the majority of commentators here when i say… i was in tears towards the end of the video.
After the disaster of the last reboot, I thought we would never see this film made, so glad the stars aligned for this to even happen
"We were all so young", he was living the past with such great memories.
Ok, I was already looking forward to Jason's GB20. After seeing these clips and how much Jason looks up to his father I just got a great feeling about the entire project.
the did
I'm still salty they had to wait for Harold Ramis to die and the 2016 kerfuffle to happen before deciding to do the third movie, but I can't say that I won't give this one a chance.
The people behind this film have so much passion for their babies and it can only go up after 2016.
The new one looks good.. has a really good vibe about it
as much as i love him as an actor, part of that's on bill murray. he didn't want to do a third movie for a long time. :(
@@jnyfmg Well, after he arrived on the set of GBII in 88/89 & it didn't turn out to be the movie he was told they were going to make or the script he approved of (meaning he was tricked) can you blame him for being reluctant?
I hope this is a good sign that this movie will have heart like the originals and not be a disaster.
The kid who once told the Ghostbusters they were full of crap is now a believer. Godspeed, Messers Reitman.
bill bixby hundred percent agree, but I didn’t want to inspire any ‘16 fanboys/girls to start ruthlessly attacking my character.
@@nickmanzo8459 hey stop it, that's racist
@@caidema Racist?
aww😢 i just wanted to give ivan a big hug🙂 i really hope they can make some magic again!
I love how Egon very slyly is the one setting the rates for Peter to quote.
I didn't notice that until I saw it as an adult - one of the things I love about Ghostbusters is there's so many great little ideas in there I notice something new every single time I see it (which is many many times at this point).
This what iam talking about!!!!!! A Real attempt at a sequel! Thank god
Jason is a great director, Ivan is a great director saw Afterlife three times in theaters..thank you for the love ,I hope it's a sequel if it is one maybe call it Ghostbusters Newlife
Dang this is really touching best father and son relationship!! Can't wait for Gb2020 or part 3
I'm not a very eloquent person so I don't have a hugely meaningful comment to write, but GB1 was without a doubt the most impactful movie I ever saw as a kid, and the franchise as a whole gave me more hours of happiness than I could count. Thank you so much to this man for helping create it!
When Ivan became choked up, and Jason got up, went over, and comforted him...OMG MY HEART 💙💙💙
A hug got a standing ovation, that's perfect!
Old dads are amazing. They are as sweet as kids.
Aww, Jason loves his dad & cares about the franchise as much as he does. 😊
8:40 that was really sweet
Great movies are only made when the people who are making them are passionate in what they are doing. I get the sense that Jason Reitman is passionate about making this new one.
Wow, that was awesome...lotta heart on display here...looking forward to the new movie
Can't wait for this new Ghostbusters. Go get 'em kid!
Love the Ghostheads in the audience reactions!
Now why on Gods holy did they not ever place any of those outtakes/deleted scenes on any home copy of of Ghostbusters in all of these years. That was some excellent stuff.
That was AWESOME. Thank you for posting.
Ok at the end I’m
Not crying your crying. God this is what life’s about
That was such a nice video. I think GB is back in safe hands now.
Wow Jason and Ivan are awesome !!
Awww. I wish I'd been able to work with my dad like that.
Where's the clip from the end of part 1?!
So emotional at the end, damn. Wish the movie turned out just a bit better. But the care is so obvious and strong.
The people who disliked this heartfelt footage wanted He-Man.
I have a lot more confidence in the new movie now that I've seen this
I hope so with all my soul he meant it, hes making the movie for us.. but the most important part for me is listening us listening the fans... not like Rian Johnson fiasco.
The ending of this vid got to me too ✌🏾🎭
Not gonna cry, not gonna cry...dang nabbit I'm crying. Bless you Ivan Reitman and your son. I do believe he is going to make you proud and I do believe he is gonna make a great Ghostbusters flim.
I hope he does right by us fans. For once I have a good feeling about this.
I was born the year this movie came out(see username lol)...I'm glad I was born then but kinda sad I didn't exist to see the movie in theaters! My parents would've though....I did see Groundhog Day though on the big screen I'm happy to say. That was my first Bill Murray movie. :)
6:58 dont wanna be that guy but the line is: We came, we saw, we kicked it's ass!
Why? Be proud to be that guy! *its
Great clip!
This is the savior for Ghostbusters!!!
I Can't wait for the new one. People moaning already about it seeming like Stranger Things. But thats awesome too. It's a good combination if that's how it goes.
Ghostbusters. Episode IV - A New Hope.
@#OUTLANDISH IV is not three.. it's 4
In Ghostbusters 3 I want to see the new Ghostbusters capture The Grey Lady Eleanor Twitty in the New York Pubic Library as their first mission,Ivo Shandor as the main villain and the original Ghostbusters movie score use in the movie. With or without these, I have full faith in this film. This will be the Ghostbusters movie the fans truly deserve.
Hope they release these on the new Blu-ray.
This is what makes a good movie, people who are in it because they want to be there, not because its going to make them money
I came, I saw, I came again hahahaha
This is ghostbusters cannon.. thanks Bill Murray
Bustin Makes me feel good.
gives Bill's ad-libbed line coming through the doors a little more gravitas haha!
I was expecting for Aykroyd to burp after having the beer.
A chest ripping loud one..
3:19
5:24
Just sit there and look at Jason and realize that he is the same snot nosed kid in the opening of part 2 that said "My dad says you guys are full of crap"
The girl in the puppy scene with Ramis and Weaver is Ivan's daughter Catherine Rietman
love it omggggggggg
Great moment... but all the camera guys are like "don't get in my shot!"
Oh man i hope they do an extended cut now
Where's the Bill Murray footage cut off at the end of Part 1?
lol who's going to watch the movie again as soon as this video is over? i know I'm gonna
I'm not crying..you're crying.
the 4 women are upset or a few from 2016 version, but what they don't understand is isn't about them. They should be elated that the original cast is returning, the original cast deserve it, they started it. There is no merit to the 2016 film, there is no honor in that.
Now, even if nostalgia goggles means the film (GB 2020) isn't on par with the previous two films, I think we are in for a pretty strong Ghostbusters sequel.
Do you have any Ghosbusters: Answer the call panels? It'll be interesting to see Paul talk about anything positive!
@MonkeyZorr No need for that man. People know what kind of movie it was. Don't rub it in.
missing a chunk or something? part one ends on a scene, and part two doesnt pick up
Who's cutting onions in here?
Touching. But the Stranger Things angle is gonna make it a bomb. Nobody wants to see Kidbusters. Make a film version of Real Ghostbusters or nothing
Sagiri Izumi Congratulations on becoming another ignorant moron on the internet (like we need more of those.) You win nothing. Good day.
Ivan almost cried I think his thinking about Harold Ramis 🙁
No disrespect to his son, but I wish Ivan would direct it.
There is NO WAY Jason will F this up like Paul Twink did. This is going to be an honest, true to the source, fan film. Can’t wait.
Okay.... WHO CUT THE ONIONS ? :*(
The bald guy in the bottom left corner is annoying me. Turn around...
Hes probably security
Patrick Stewart’s stand in?
I must be made of stone, I felt nothing...
F
p.s 👎that reboot🤮
