I would have probably geeked out being there. :D Joss Whedon has repeatedly surprised me and I end up watching, and loving everything he's done. He has this amazing ability to mix humor, conflict, drama, and even love into something that shines brighter than the sum of its parts. I initially dismissed the Buffy series, thinking (incorrectly), that it was just a TV version of the horrible movie. I found out later that the studio screwed up the movie, but didn't know that at the time. At some point, the reruns of Buffy were shown just before the reruns of M*A*S*H on a cable network where I live. I used to turn on the TV while doing things around the house waiting for M*A*S*H to come on. They'd show at least 2 episodes of Buffy and I had it on as background noise. Once in awhile, something would catch my eye and I'd pay attention for a bit. Eventually, it progress to me not only paying attention, but actually actively, intently, watching it, and then seeking out the new episodes as they were aired. The show, the writing, the characters all won me over greatly. Sure, there are a few things that aren't perfect in it, but overall, tons of surprises, engrossing characters (with *shock* actual growth), and awesome, witty dialog. I honestly used to be embarrassed to admit it, but, the hell with that, it's just plain good stuff. I don't care what people who dismiss it as [insert whatever here] think, I loved that show, as well as many of the others he did, some of which never really got a chance. I cannot agree more on recommending Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog. It's easy to find on the Intertubes and it's universally enjoyable. I loathe most musicals, but I love that simple-but-awesome movie. Anyone who can make me *love* a musical has talent. Side note: Joss worked as a writer on the early seasons (or maybe just the first) of Roseanne. Some of his witty dialog can be seen on those episodes. Fans can tell. :D
That's SO tough Sean. That's like asking me to post my favourite film. There's so many layers to what Joss does. So many great writers on the shows he's created. I can pick a few... but really... why don't I just lend you everything he's ever been a part of. Do you want to start? Watch Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog. It's still online for free.
Did you watch my full interview with her? Never mind this short one with bad audio... I got to talk to her one-on-one at Chicago ComicCon. Pretty awesome. I take it you're talking about Much Ado About Nothing? Ya... it was pretty great, especially seeing the two of them on screen together again. I haven't met Alexis yet... I'm hoping one day I'll interview him too.
Actually, he didn't shoot at the same time as Avengers, he finished principal photography for the Avengers (but was still working on it) and while that was happening, he shot Much Ado. Sorry I wasn't specific enough.
you got to meet amy acker? wow that's awesome, she is so good on angel and dollhouse. i hope this movie gets more people to notice her. hopefully she can guest star on the new shield tv show, which woild be awesome. so looking forward to this movie mainly cause im a huge Fred /Wesley fan!!! also, were you able to meet alexis denisof?
Incredible year for him and I think he will make a strong transition from here on out in film. Maybe Warner Bros will give him a call now and make that Wonder Woman flick happen now with his control.
Good video! Maybe a suggestion: some clips, especially your interviews at the end, had so much background noise that ESL and maybe even native English speakers could use subtitles.
Nice. Can't wait. Yea I mean who better than a self proclaimed feminist. I've just been getting in to his work lately. I enjoyed Serenity years ago, but now i'm watching the Firefly series along with Buffy(addictively). Loved Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, Cabin in the Woods, and I can't wait for Avengers. I think this guy has a voice and sadly that's a rare thing in Hollywood especially for genre pictures.
If that happens... he's the guy to make it happen - Especially if they want to make it a tertiary franchise behind Batman and Superman. I don't think anyone takes other material from DC and Warner seriously now after Green Lantern. Ironically enough though, I'm working on another Whedon video about the character archetypes he likes to use... the Warrior Woman is one and Wonder Woman gets mentioned!
Well, it's more of a Tutorial than a review. But your wonderful boyfriend did a fine job filming... ironically enough, I got my new camera WITH NEW SHOTGUN MIC literally a week after my interview with Sean. So... next time... it will be MUCH CLEARER! And I know... one more day!! :)
Definitely the pronunciation of "out" and " about" ; ) ..... I'm in Minnesota anyway; kind of the "Canadian State", so I'm rather used to hearing a similar accent.
Did I say 'eh' too many times? Or 'aboot'? Or actually pronounce the word hockey like 'hawk-ee' instead of 'hack-ee'? Haha. I tease. Yes my American brother... I am. As much as my RUclips page doesn't hide it (or if you watch my Whedon Much Ado About Nothing review, I say I'm from Toronto)... What gave it away?
Well, Winn, I'm not familiar with Whedon at all, so I'm gunna put a challenge on you. Find the best (quintessential) Whedon scene and post it for us to see. Show us why he's your hero, and why we should trust him, so.
FUN FACT: Joss Whedon actually got me interested in writing, and making movies myself.
So yeah, he had a pretty big impact on my life
Vilmundur Gunnarsson Me too!
Wish I had more to say than "Super awesome vid!!!" but I am left so speechless by its super awesomeness that I must admit no other words come to mind.
I would have probably geeked out being there. :D

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind. Luckily my newer interviews have better audio equipment so it's not an issue.
Great idea! I love that film...

Mike, BEST. REVIEW. EVER.

Can't wait to see Avengers with you!!

In Joss we trust! This is most definitely a nerd's oath. xD
I heard that somewhere.

He didn't shoot Much Ado after The Avenger, he shot during.
DAMN MAN! I WANT JAMES MARSTERS IN S.H.I.E.L.D. :D
