When the 16yr old boy defines prejudice it took me a while to grasp what he meant. That was a very deep thought for a 16yr old kid. "When a person loses track of the dignity of the human soul and begins to judge others not on the basis of there being as persons but on the basis of praise, creed and economic status that is prejudice." This is just very on point and I totally agree with him that prejudice is when we loses track of the dignity, integrity and worthiness of the human soul. We should respect each person regardless of their faith, physical appearance, creed and economic status.

Judith said, "there comes a point where SOMEBODY needs to decide when a country can be independent." There needs to be some kind of level of quality the country need to have to become independent. But she implied under the surface that the one who will have to decide are the countries who have colonized the other country. I just want to say, "No Judith, your country is not the one to decide how and when a country will be independent. It's the country themselves that will decide. In the first place, they were already independent before they were colonized. Hence, independence means being free from your country, instead of it generally being FREE." Filipinos really hàte Japanese people during and at the end of the second world war, But the Japanese paid reparation after the war and according to my parents that was the time when they have more money. We cannot blame the Japanese people for the war because they were only told to do so by their leaders. Raul is very smart . He express his reasons very well and he is very considerate with the Japanese lady. The impression of most Europeans to Asians that they are lazy, this was answered by Jose Rizal in his book " The Indolence of Filipinos" and the reason for that is the weather. During cold months Europeans can work all day and never get tired because of the cold. In the tropics like the Philippines and Indonesia people wake up early and work hard in the field. Then they take a rest at noon and work again at 3 I'm clock in the afternoon.

Filipino boy: oh wow! i luv to live in Japan🤣🤣🤣
Hehehe🤣😂🤣so lovely
YES YES YES YES YES!
Hahahahha it's very funny when he said that. I remember that there's a place similar to the role of men and women in Japan. I don't exactly remember the name of the place but in that place's case was that women are bound to find work and struggle outside. Women there play the men's role. And men at that particular place was that they'll just be in their house sitting pretty. I don't remember what's the name of that place but I can still remember the culture in that place and that place was took a documentary by a couple. I already forgot their names but I'm definitely sure that there are still other two places where they took a documentary. The second place was about people living there having no clothes at all. They don't wear anything and they also don't have any names. And the third place that these couple took a documentary was about the place where a fight happen frequently. It says that men and women are aggressive in terms of fight.

I love how the japanese girl talks about korea, my country.
It’s a really sensitive subject, so I’m impressed she actually mentioned it!
I felt like I saw my grandfather the way Raul talked.
My grandfather worked abroad in his time, he knew how to speak the language. I listened everytime Granddad spoke English, I got used to it and learned somehow.
It's a full year anniversary of his death this november. It's a regret his children living abroad couldn't properly say goodbye since they couldn't fly back due to Covid breaking out that time.

Judith said, "there comes a point where SOMEBODY needs to decide when a country can be independent."
There needs to be some kind of level of quality the country need to have to become independent. But she implied under the surface that the one who will have to decide are the countries who have colonized the other country. I just want to say, "No Judith, your country is not the one to decide how and when a country will be independent. It's the country themselves that will decide. In the first place, they were already independent before they were colonized. Hence, independence means being free from your country, instead of it generally being FREE."
The Indonesian girl said," if you give us a chance" which means that the colonized people didn't give Indonesians a chance to show that they are not lazy.
it's bothering me how Judith says, "You think we were taking away your..." That's not what she only thinks, that's what really happened. You really did took away their freedom ans forced them to go by your rules.
I've read that the Indonesian girl, Ratnati, is a daughter of a national hero
Countries conquering or occupying other countries is what makes big civilizations out of smaller civilizations and this is how education spreads throughout the history of human civilizations, in older times new ideas had to be spread across different lands somehow and if that somehow was through war and conquering or occupying then so be it that's the way it was.

Filipinos really hàte Japanese people during and at the end of the second world war, But the Japanese paid reparation after the war and according to my parents that was the time when they have more money.
Filipinos still hate the Japanese. I've seen tons of filipinos people have prejudice against Japanese people on twitter.
Watching this I feel so proud to be a Filipino.

Yes. The official language was Spanish before the coming of the Americans.
Yes, there's a Spanish language at school before but they decided to remove it.
I will try to learn Spanish I think it will be easy because I'm a Filipino
Do not forget that Spanish didn't educate all of the Filipinos with Spanish. They only accepted high societies to learn languages.
@@junkyyard2273 that's true. Not just on our island, even in european countries 500 years ago back then.. And they are called the commoners of the Kingdom Era.

Didn't Robin Longstride become a Lord? So it might be possible to be one of the high society.
Probably Rizal's ancestor comes from the commoners too.

No. Not racist. We just make fun of those who are darker than us. Gaya ng mga negro, maitim, ulikba, baluga, at iba pang mga insultong salita na tinatawag natin sa mga kababayan natin na mas maitim kaysa sa atin.
Well, we are a bit racist, not because we hate them, but because we are kinda ignorant of how we should treat them. Like my grandma, when reffering to a african american fellow she met, she says "yung maitim" which means The Dark one because she doesnt know what else to call them back then. Me and my cousin hastily corrects grandma and tell her to use african american instead or colored person. She then uses it in a joke and said it in english, "I nearly started a war with the colored people", its so ironic and a bit funny, imagine my grandma fighting colored people, but then again, the ironic thing is that wars do start like that.

Not only this boy so smart but he looks so cute in his amercana(his outfit)
I am so amazed how the Filipino boy, Raul L. Contreras was so eloquent and truly reflects the influence of the Americans during that time. The accent, the flow, the slang. But the Filipino values in him is very, very evident. Especially how he explained the laziness of Asians and the descrimination of skin color. The Japanese Girl is so cute and very timid but truly speaks her mind. While the British is so posh in her accent. Yeah, it's true that Britain is trying to improve their colonies, unlike Spain. But Asian countries wants their independence.
coming from a British Coloney I strongly disagree their improvement was not for us it was for their people living here... we were very likely better off without them
@@Gummylongtail Yeah, true it was really for their kingdom but you cannot deny the improvements you are imitating and still preserving that is evident from your country. It is a part of the heritage that we cannot erase and deny. Though we hated them, they have some teachings and infrastructures that we still used upto now. It is a part of Tourism that we earned from it.

Guys there’s no such thing as an accent there for Filipinos. During that time students were taught by people who spoke fluently in Spanish and had to learn English due to USA. My grandmother still speaks like that and her mother is spanish so it’s natural.
There is always accents when speaking languages, he had the Filipino accent in his english, he was trying to speak with an American accent but the Filipino accent is still present.
and it’s changed since those days anyway, due to the environment and influences…
Filipinoes have already forgotten the japanese war...and filipinoes love japanese peole... there is no hate anymore. Honestly i love japanese culture.
We shouldn't say we forgot, for that would disrespect our ancestors and be ignorant, but say we acknowledge and forgive them of their ancestor's actions.
I think we can say that it’s all in the past and we all learned from it.

I'm not surprised why Raul was so smart. His school only takes students that are best of the best. Most people that graduated in that school are lawyers, Presidents of the Philippines, top journalists & etc.

Japan, Philippines and Indonesia are all archipelagos outside the mainland Asia. UK is an island separated from the mainland of Europe. As long as there are people who consider themselves as superior race there will always be prejudice between groups of people. Programs like this creates open communication between people and may find solutions on how to lessen the bad effects of prejudice. This is an interesting group.

I saw a reaction vlog for the same video and i undrrstand why the filipino mentioned climate out of all reasons andbasing on the vlogger's explanation, climate is an important factor because could actually be the reason how different cultures value time differently. Those in the part where it is colder and has fewer day time hours, they would rush to do things they had to finish within short movable time frame of the day, while those in the warmer areas, they have all the entire day for work. Also, the cold west would never understand working under the hot sun
