What is going on my dang mates. Welcome back to another one of what ima call "the evolution of" series. Today we will be looking at the evolution of Knuckle Puck a Chicago, Illinois pop punk band signed to Rise Records.
Knuckle Puck formed in 2010 in the suburbs of Chicago around the Tinley Park area, their sound is best categorized as a more brash, abrasive take on pop punk, leaning more towards punk.
They put out three EP's before signing to Rise Records in late 2014. They released "Don't Come Homw", "The Weight That You Buried", and "While I Stay Secluded". The release of these EPs of course attracted the attention of their current label, Rise Records and they put out their first studio LP, "Copacetic" in summer 2015 while playing the entirety of the Vans Warped Tour.
The band consists of Joe Taylor, Kevin Maida, John Siorek, Nick Casasanto, and Ryan Rumchaks. All original members are also founding members which is pretty rare and I find that incredibly cool.
Knuckle Puck has played numerous famous music festivals such as Riot Fest, Download Fest, Slam Dunk, and even the more niche Bled Fest.
They released their second studio LP "Shapeshifter" October of 2017 followed that up with some hefty tours, and played the entirety of the final cross-country run of Warped Tour in 2018.
They're currently working on writing LP3 I'd presume and will be out on tour all summer with Citizen.
Knuckle Puck is already huge, bet even bigger things are in store for them come the latter half of 2019.
Now, lets take a look at the evolution of Knuckle Puck

Copacetic was crucial to my mental state in 2015. It's the album I found the band with and my life was changed.

These videos make it easier for me to get into bands. I'm a huge pop punk fan, but checking out new bands is so overwhelming most of the time. So thank you!

Absolutely loved hearing more of the history behind KP! They have been and probably will always be the most meaningful band to me. Thanks Nate for this one! I'm seeing them play in June so stoked!!

Awesome video! But you forgot the most crucial moment in KPs career- when they were stopped and filmed at the Canada-Us border and searched for weed on television

How am I just seeing this? Thanks for this video! The "evolution" vids are definately a cool way to appreciate the growth of a band. I only got into KP about a year or so ago, and let me tell you, it has been one of the best year's of my life haha. I think my three all-time KP faves are Alexander Pl., No Good and Everyone Lies to Me. Shapeshifter in general is just a great album and one of the few that I can listen to top to bottom without skipping any tracks. Pumped to see where the band goes from here.

I’m happy to have been there for most of it :) I live right outside of Chicago and it was always great seeing them at warped and all the little unannounced last minute shows they’ve done in and around Chicago. Christmas 2014 I believe, was the best I ever seen them perform. They did a show at the metro with real friends and I never seen a crazier pop punk crowd at that time other than maybe when they toured with state champs. They killed it and real friends closed out the show and did an insane “encore”. It was great seeing them a few years later with real friends at the metro I had high expectations and they did great, but the crowd was dead. Idk why, maybe we all got old lol. Maybe everyone was there just to be there. But I’ll never forget that 2014 show! they and real friends announced it was their fist time playing there and they always dreamed about it and they had parents in the crowd and they really just showed out. It was so good :)
