Thank you so much for this! as a Nigerian teen growing up in RCCG North America, theres so much corruption and stuff. He appears to be really godly though and that gets alot of people. There’s so many people who DO genuinely love the Lord in RCCG, so thats one of the main reasons it hasnt been completely shut down. Alot of churches are starting to leave bc he wanted to control every single RCCG Church financially, but leave them w the debt. Sad it took money for the many Pastors to leave but yeah. RCCG has done alot of good stuff, especially in my life. I grew up there, met my best friends there, and much more. But the bad is really bad, especially bc no one seems to know about it, or care enough. In one of the magazines i read as a preteen, one testimony described God as “The GOD of EA Adeboye” Can you believe that? Pray for the various churches under this man, that they’d see the truth. Some are good churches, but yk. They even had Jakes and Bloomer speak at their conferences. They used Habakkuk 2:3 out of context for a youth conference. Yk “Whats your vision?” kind of misquoting the text man. As a 19 year old its sad to see this kinda stuff especially when its all you’ve known. And the money that has gone into it. Nigeria! oh! how rich the country would be if the heresies were true! Pray for revival pls,
    God Bless.

Thank you so much for sharing your views. I was born a Muslim and gave my life to Christ 19yrs ago. I actually started off with RCCG in Magodo(Lagos), I loved the church. I moved back to the UK in 2002 and went to various churches, but still went back to RCCG. I just felt at home even with some of the issues I faced with the church. Back in 2014, I got married and as my husband attends a different church, believe me, I saw the true face of RCCG. I was made to feel like a nobody. I bless the God of our Lord that my marriage is thriving in every way. I have a lot of criticism about RCCG, and there are some things that G.O says that doesn't sit well with me at all. Until you leave the church, you don't see the major flaws. I am calling it now, when Adeboye passes on, RCCG will fall. I don't serve the God of Adeboye, or any other G.O's of the churches of today, my God is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. God bless you for your revelation.

I'm from Nigeria and I know almost everything about the so-called 'man of God'. I have many clips of him being unbiblical with his words, teachings, and doings while people worship him more than God Himself. There have been countless times, where people are crazy to touch the chair upon which he sits and so on to get miracles, and he talks about God giving him authoritative declarations like he's God himself. Money and so on are not far fetched from his pulpit and I mean, so very large amount of money. They've held people captive and shackled by their falsehood, but the saddest part is that people don't want to be free from them all. There're many of them in Nigeria actually because I used to be there before the Lord saved me and opened my eyes to the real truth of His Word. God bless you richly for exposing them.

God bless you Brother, I pretty much just came out of WOF and prosperity gospel movement. It's been so hard finding a sound biblical church as 9 out of 10 churches in Nigeria are part of the movement. I'm so heartbroken for people because they don't realise that this is a major problem in the Body of Christ. False prophets and teachers everywhere it is heartbreaking honestly.

same everywhere Bro, lucrative family owned corporate businesses. The biggest most ambitious ones have teams of business managers, media executives, lawyers and accountants, to ensure growth and increased "profits" (sorry no pun was intended) The first fellowship I attended as a new believer in 1987 here in England was a more modest one, but still essentially a family owned and run business. It still exists, now with "campuses" in several locations, and overseen by the pastors grandson.

I think that there isn't really a strong biblical basis for the position that there are no prophets today. The fact Paul tells us about the "gift of prophecy" is enough for me to say it's a reasonable assertion that you can receive the gift of prophecy today. However I also agree that there isn't any office for a prophet today. I guess I would fall into the continueasionist category. Great video though, I always enjoy your learned content even when I would disagree.

My mum (British-Nigerian) says racism has to do with people with darker skin or anyone from a poorer background and/or who feels looked down on embracing the prosperity movement, the fast track to fame, an audience, nice suits, a stage, celebrity status... To "rise" to the same level above the people they feel inferior to or bullied by.

It is difficult not to see, in most churches in Nigeria and their upshots in all parts of the world, that their teachings, doctrines are all fused on what God can do for me, the gratification of self, the prosperity of the now and the focus to have my best life now by reason of their “god like faith”. Most of this came from the “American Gospel”.
It is unfortunate that we are now plagued at all sides with false teachings and twisting of scripture, which has spread like gangrene.
These so called men of God in their deception, have either willing or unwilling, plunged themselves and their followers into our selfishness of been lovers of ourselves, lovers of money, into our own boastfulness. This is leaving us without true love, without self-control and not lovers of the good. Unfortunately, we have become blind to the truth and so we crowd ourselves with these great number of GO’s, MOG, “pastors”, “apostles”, and so called prophets - turning our ears away from the truth to myths and deception. We are without blame, because we are a people itching to gather around ourselves those who will speak into our selfish desires. Failing to put up with sound doctrine and to take careful instruction, they flock to the prosperity and NAR teachers seeking to improve their lives and not to loss their wealth - thereby falling into the sin of the worse kind.
Their minds are fixed on earthly things. Through these lenses, there interpretation of a lot of their keys verses of scripture arises, making in their own image a god for themselves. Their understanding has therefore become corrupted and their shame is what they glory in.
Thanks for shining the light on these difficult topics.
    God Bless

Never heard of him or his church. False teachers/preachers are everywhere and most are very controlling of their flock. This was an eye opener. I'm very picky about who I listen to, what I read and watch because so many have control issues. They're very slick about hiding what they and who they really are. One has to pay attention and study Scripture for themselves.

I’m from Arkansas and was raised in the “Assembly of God” denomination where my grandfather and my father were long time pastors. I’ve never been to Africa but I have actually met EA Adaboye. A lady I have known since I was a small child travelled with him as an evangelist and worship leader, she even sang at the meeting with 7 million in attendance. They are still close friends and I see posts and comments back and forth between them and others I know ok Facebook regularly. I always felt a bit strange about him but I never put much thought into it until now. After my teenage years, I rebelled and ran from the God I thought I knew and went into at least of decade of addiction, sexual promiscuity, utter depravity, darkness, sin. About six years ago, I was made a true new creation, by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, forgiven of my sin, healed from addiction and seek to follow Christ and righteousness. And as I have studied and fallen in love with the word, my eyes have been opened to the countless errors that I was taught and believed for so long. The God i thought I knew had not been the God of the Bible, it had been a construct created that looked and sounded and tasted good to me and it eventually ended up looking just like me. I count it a blessing that I ran from it and view that as a first step towards the true salvation that was to come. Unfortunately, I have so many life long friends that continue to believe things that tow the line of heresy and blasphemy, and my heart breaks more and more as I get further away from that and closer to God. I haven’t thought much about Adaboye or his influence but it is clearly very far reaching and very deceptive and dangerous. Now I will be in prayer that the Holy Spirit convicts him, he repents and he comes to know the biblical Christ and stops leading people into further darkness. I pray for the same to take place in the lives of those around him, his family, his followers, his staff, etc and for my friends that have been influenced by him and others and that God becomes God in their lives.

In a entry in the open heavens book that Adeboye issues yearly, he tells a story in his early days where he was instructed to build a house of God. It was built but the birds in the trees were so noisy with their chirping that Adeboye instructed some of his members to get guns and shoot all of the birds, which he and they did. Now this is a general description of the incident, so work out what commandments were broken by him in telling this story.

Hmmmm... I thought so. I vaguely remember a panel discussion where Piper couldn’t ever remember a situation where the apostolic gifts were evident in his own life experience, but he expressed that the cessationist viewpoint went against the Biblical command to earnestly seek the gift of prophesy. If I recall correctly, Piper used 1 Corinthians 14 as a defense for why he can’t abandon the apostolic gifts...
      1 Corinthians 14 NASB
      Prophecy a Superior Gift
14 (A)Pursue love, yet (B)desire earnestly (C)spiritual gifts, but especially that you may (D)prophesy. 2 For one who (E)speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God; for no one [a]understands, but [b]in his spirit he speaks (F)mysteries. 3 But one who prophesies speaks to men for (G)edification and (H)exhortation and consolation. 4 One who (I)speaks in a tongue (J)edifies himself; but one who (K)prophesies (L)edifies the church. 5 Now I wish that you all (M)spoke in tongues, but (N)even more that you would prophesy; and greater is one who prophesies than one who (O)speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may receive (P)edifying.......39 Therefore, my brethren, (BL)desire earnestly to (BM)prophesy, and do not forbid to speak in tongues. 40 But (BN)all things must be done properly and in an orderly manner.
      Thoughts?

God bless you on your committed and accurate analysis on the subject matter. To be fair, this is really a great work but I think you have wrongly placed Pastor Adeboye. The title of the video is very misleading and the content shows you know very little about Pastor Adeboye: his teachings, emphasis, and theological viewpoints.
Though he is not my pastor and I don't attend RCCG but pastor Adeboye is one of the few we have in Nigeria protecting the fundamental doctrines of the scriptures. I say this with all sincerity of heart and as far as my experience of him can take me. And when you consider carefully his teachings in the "African context," it will be easy to pardon "some of his exegetical mistakes," so to say.
When I saw this title, I was very scared but after listening carefully to your arguments, I could only conclude you probably don't know much about pastor Adeboye or you were misled by some random RUclips videos. I have never even once heard him call himself a prophet. Neither does anyone know him to be a prophet: he has always been referred to as a pastor.
I beg you, (for Christ's sake and for the sake of the precious church of God in Nigeria) to do an in-depth and fair study of pastor Adeboye's theology and teachings and probably make a new video detailing your findings. If you can bring more concrete and widely attested facts of his inconsistencies and false teachings to light, then your efforts will be much appreciated.
I am writing as a fellow Christian. I really love your work and have been blessed tremendously through your videos. I am scared that projecting pastor Adeboye in a "negative light" unnecessarily and or inaccurately might not go down well for the Nigerian church.
I am also concerned about the issues raised in this video, but they might not just apply to pastor Adeboye. Shalom
It's so painful I'm seeing this after a year!

    • @vincenth.8793
      @vincenth.8793 4 года назад +1

@@kathierouse5306 You can look at both ways. "Last" as in chronologically speaking and "Last" as in "ultimate" or "greatest".
Remember John the Baptist announced the coming of Jesus, “I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire" (Matt. 3:11).
In Hebrews 1:1-2, explains that he is the greatest prophet... In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.
So anyone claiming the title of prophet is not only unbiblical, is blasphemous as well.

Vincent H. You may want to check that against Scriptures, such as these:
o “ And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain 🔥prophet🔥, named Agabus.” ~ Acts 21:10 (KJV)
o “Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain 🔥prophets🔥 and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.” ~ Acts 13:1 (KJV)
o Jesus also said, ‘And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these 🔥two prophets🔥 tormented them that dwelt on the earth.” ~ Revelation 11:3-10 (KJV)

All that explains is that many people, including us have the characteristics of a prophet, a apostle, a teacher, an evangelist and so on, but that does not say the offices of these titles are still open. God can tell you HE has a word for you to give someone as in the gift of prophecy, BUT that DOES NOT mean you have the gift of prophecy and doesn't give you the title of prophet. Plus we have the written word, they are no new revelations to come.

    • @SocialAloeMinistries
      @SocialAloeMinistries 4 года назад

Vincent H. Let me get this straight. The Bible say, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God...” ~ 2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV) Many Scriptures also say that God cannot lie, such as Titus 1:2. Jesus even called the Holy Spirit the Spirit of Truth. If those three examples state the people were prophets, and especially the two witnesses to come are two prophets, are we going to violate Scripture that tells us let God be true and every man a liar? If Jesus said He is sending two witnesses (His prophets) to prophesy for 3.5 years, even after the publishing of the Bible, are we going to call Jesus a liar? Jesus said He will send two prophets, are we going to contradict Scriptures and effectively call Jesus a liar? Everywhere in the Bible, the word “prophet” means prophet. But, Jesus dealt with similar issues during His earthly ministry when students and teachers of the Scriptures could not identify the Messiah in their presence, hence He said:
‘For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed Me; for he wrote of Me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe My Words?’ ~ John 5:46-47 (KJV)

I don't know what to say, I honestly believe God has used him for his glory, I have seen proof of this with my own eyes and with people I personally know he has prayed for and with, and they got they're testimonies, I have no personal relationship with him, but it would be a lie to not acknowledge the things I know God has used him to do, (too much to actually go into here) I actually have listened to a sermon of his where he said he was not a prophet or an apostle.
*The problems in my opinion would be with the way some people idolise him, it can really be quite shocking, there is also the fact that he might have explained scripture wrongly, but at some point anyone could do that by mistake, not an excuse though, and officials and other leaders can use his name to lie, I personally think we should keep praying for him, that he doesn't stray from the path and if he has, he is brought back, because first of all he has a lot if people under him and if he strays they might too. But truth be told, he seems to honour God in all he does, and I mean deep reverent fear, if at the very least, his heart is in the right place. As you've probably guessed I'm Nigerian, so I know a lot about Rccg, maybe things are different over here than here, because here they regularly give*
