That has always intrigued me about people in the military. The guys at school who are the geeks and maybe bullied can often turn out to be quite different (and harder) in the military. Maybe it's a case of "stuff this, I'll show you!". Some succeed, but one geek mate we had got himself killed by trying to be "too brave".🤔

I worked at Cardiff Royal infirmary where SAS men attended our A&E department, specfically the emergency crash room (resuscitation room) for their practical emergency medical training. The most remarkable thing about them was that they were unremarkable. There was no swagger, no boasting, no striking of attitudes. Every one of them was respectful, polite and easy to talk to. We were instructed never to try to engage them in conversation about their service and never to reveal that they trained with us. They were really smart fast learners and very quickly achieved the competence to be valued members of the crash room teams for the relatively short time they were with us. SAS troopers continued to train with us when our A&E transferred to the University Hospital of Wales in Heath, Cardiff. I don't know if that arrangement continues since I retired in 2009.
When I was doing 'advanced protection driver' (ex-police) training a few years ago we were put through our paces by ex-military (contractors). When we asked what units they served in and they answered, 'transport' after being with us for a day. By then I already new they were ex-special forces by their sheer non-ego yet thorough and professional approach. Good times!

They gave her a shot and saved her....like he said. People are to scared to do anything. I didn't think twice. I never even heard from the woman again. That's okay...I know I saved her life that day.

Training staff said this would save someone’s life on ops but do not ever do this in civvy street because of the threat of being sued etc.which always puzzled me… you expect me to stand by and leave someone die when I know how to help them? I get that we weren’t surgeons but surely something is better than nothing?
Those who know know that "bravery" has nothing to do with it. Being habitually faster, always capable of instantly outrunning your fear, that's The Key. The rest is Bravado.
I seen that happened with women over here in Chicago. One incident over on pulaski there were 20 ppl filming a women being thrashed by some dude he was following her and i was following him. And then a dude in a pickup pulled right up to him to block him off so he was stuck between both of us.
So some men think they can kidnapp women in Hereford??😂😂😂
Top Geezer Respect!
Love that last line. It's from scripture as well: "Here I am Lord, send me."
