"ETA: 6 Minutes" is a short film about a bomb disposal robot known as ETA (Explosive Threat Alleviation). ETA is the sole main character with it's own thoughts and feelings; it is not controlled by a person. This short film follows ETA as it defuses a rather unique bomb of which contains multiple puzzles to solve in order to stop it from exploding. With 6 minutes remaining on the timer, will ETA be successful with the task, or will the robot meet an explosive demise?
This project was not only my first ever full CGI film, but also my first proper go at a full animation. In total, it took about 12 months of me working every single day by myself to actually create, and it was about 1.5 years from the initial idea that I first thought of to the final product.
Originally created for my final year at university and premiering at an exhibition on 30th April, 2023, I am now releasing it on this channel so that everyone can enjoy this passion project of mine from before JoeMations ever existed.

JoeMations is a channel consisting of animated videos by me, Joe. Gonna be honest Wall-e is my favorite movie of all time and this is just some Wall-e level masterpiece
Wall-e was one of the biggest inspirations behind the emotions and character of ETA, as well as some smaller elements such as the way the title looks at the start. I also love wall-e and I'm so happy people are making this connection!

I wasn't expecting feeling compassion for a robot I saw less than 10 minutes but you made it touching. I know very little about animation and nothing about CGI so my opinion on it doesn't matter, still that was so impressive the amount of details you put in this whether it was on ETA or its environment, like even the chairs in the corridor it might sound stupid but it's just an example of the attention you put in this project! I really admire the care and dedication you showed working on that, a whole year is huge and that's very inspiring, I'm stunned.

Wow… just wow… this was so amazing. Gonna be honest, I nearly didn’t click on this video at all because sometimes more long form videos don’t always appeal to me, especially if it’s an unfamiliar subject to me, but seeing your community post and knowing how dedicated and committed you were to this project, I just knew I had to give it a watch. It’s kinda opened up my eyes a bit as I enjoyed every second of it. You’re really talented, and as much as I love your silly little Pico Park inspired characters, this really lights up your potential for if you ever wanted to switch things up in the future.
