I don't like how people compare these to real dogs but oh well here I am doing just that. Many people are talking about how expensive this is but compared to a dog these are way way cheaper when you consider the dog food and vet expenses. Also I don't think this was meant to be a replacement for dogs. This is a fun thing that isn't hard to take care of if you think it's worth the money for you.
I’m poor as hell and I have two aibos. You just have to be smart about purchasing them on a budget. I have a 111 and a 1000, both were around $300-400 a piece.
Poor melon! He seems very confused. LOL! He was very quiet compared to everybody else so it was hard for me to tell what he was thinking, but he did sing to them.
The 1000s are definitely a lot less impulsive and easily distracted than the original models are haha! They don't immediately chase after pink things, they tend to observe their surroundings a lot more and are very spatially aware. It was also pretty late at night in this video, and he ended up laying down a lot haha, that's part of why he was so quiet.

Original Aibos were mean to the new one! They ignored him, stole his ball, bit his bone, left him sleeping there with no sign of interest towards him. Lol :D
I love the older ones cute noises they're adorable, the little songs and squeaks and beepings and what not I love it! Wish the new one did as much noise, and the one that keeps hitting the ball is so cute aaa

looks like their technical sensors can't detect eachother but sort of hear each others beeping. but the newest one definitely was unaware of the counter parts presents
I'm not entirely sure if it's true, but I read in the comments of another video that they actually sing the MIND 3 boot song when they're around the older ones, and this 1000 did that a couple times.
Still like the design of the ERS-7 better, looks more polished/sophisticated/futuristic. Can the new ERS-1000 interact with any of the older aibos? That'd be really cool! PS: I love how the new aibo sings his own rendition of one of the songs of the ERS-7. hahah
2 years ago i found that gray one, next to the dumpster, it didn't had battery, but I still have it somewhere, maybe I will try to find it and get battery for it.

Use to love programming Aibo, all you need is a ers111 in there lol, I stopped with the ers7 but had loads of fun with them and the 210a’s running Aibo life etc would have another ers7 to go with my other Ai robots probably but not too keen on the new one yet, Sony really should have released Qrio as he was awesome

There's a few 110s (and 111s) here too! They just tend to be a lot more hyperactive than the later models haha, so I don't usually run them in large groups

The eye design on the newest one, the ERS-1000, is clever. Using that basic design, robotic eyes are going to look more and more natural. btw I replied to your comment and question below. Subscribed and bell rung.
They aren't cheap, but they're absolutely amazing bots! There are quite a few Aibos in my house haha, many of which I imported from Japan as "junk/untested" at a fraction of their original cost. There's some good deals out there if you're willing to spend a bit on international shipping and deal with any repairs they need.
I am really disappointed that the ERS 1000 doesn't talk or seem as fun and interactive as the ERS 7. Do you prefer your ERS 7s or earlier models, over the 1000?

I haven't seen any sites out there still trying to support the old one. I wish Sony would still support the old as well as the new. Also, I would like to attach him to my internet and program. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Hello! Unfortunately the official Aibo software was never hosted on Sony's site - even back during the mid 2000s Sony would basically tell you to 'buy a new stick' if yours became corrupted or you ran into any issues. This is the main reason why a third party program called Stikzap was created to circumvent the copy protection Sony uses on their Aibo sticks. I can send you the files for MIND 3 (the latest version of MIND software released before Aibo was discontinued), but you'll need to obtain a Sony Clie and Stikzap in order to do anything with it. Just dragging the files onto a stick won't create anything capable of booting in an Aibo, you need Stikzap to duplicate the safety (copy protect) file as well. It's not difficult, but there is a bit of a learning curve. Or if you'd rather mail me a blank stick, I can put software on it for just the cost of return postage.

As I see, no updates are out there. When the Sony shut down, all support shut down. I just was thinking there would be an updated version of Aibo WLAN Manager and Entertainment Player software. I did come across Aibo Personalities. May give them a try. Hoping this card reader is compatible because it's not a sony one. Thanks again, I appreciate your assistance. Maybe one day will be able to afford the new Aibo ERS-1000. LOL
