    Großartig! Bravissimo! Perfektes, mitreißendes Spiel und passende Choreografie! So macht und vermittelt das Stück Spaß und Lebensfreude! Der zweite Satz transportiert sehr intime Nachdenklichkeit! Danke an beide Interpreten für diese phantastische Aufführung!

      It is so good because of the calmness, the peace and the mood brought by the previous ones.

    Will you upload more videos of the performance that night in Taipei? What was the encore piece, please?

    • @yun-shioutsai1704
      @yun-shioutsai1704  6 лет назад +4

      There will be more to come! There were two encore pieces in Taipei, one was Mendelssohn's Concert Piece op.113, 3rd movement, the other was Servus from Vienna.

      Thank you very much! I look forward to watching them. Is "Servus from Vienna" a newly written or arranged piece? I wonder who wrote or arranged it.

    Schitterend gespeeld! Maar... kan allemaal een stuk subtieler, er wordt nogal een loopje genomen met de tempo-aanduidingen en wisselingen...

    3rd movement feels rather slow, compared to others I've heard. Can anyone recommend other versions?

      I studied the piece with Mr. Horovitz (who sadly passed away yesterday.). He changed his tempo markings from the original edition and actually preferred a slightly slower tempo for the third movement- and a slightly faster tempo for the second.

    • @johncooney4004
      @johncooney4004 Год назад

      You could try the 'original' recording with Gervais de Peyer. I think this piece needs a bit of vibrato in the slow movement, more than it does the glisses Daniel inserts.

    • @johncooney4004
      @johncooney4004 Год назад

      The tempo is fine, if not a bit fast. Broadly, tempo , realtive to other performers', only matters in the context of whether the player makes sense of the piece at their tempo. Daniel does. A nice performance all round.

    Mr. Ottensamer apparently thinks that any hint of jazz influence within a classical composition gives him license to make a mockery of the printed score. That 3rd movement is just a mess. What a shame.

    • @classicaloracle
      @classicaloracle 10 месяцев назад +2

      Agreed. I went to the 1st performance and studied with both Horowitz and the dedicatee, Gervase de Peyer. Neither would agree with the swing style adopted in the last movement. Horowitz is very precise in all his markings throughout. If he had wanted to have it in swing style he would have said so. Very disappointing that a player of Ottensamer's calibre would cheapen things in this way.

    • @whoitisnot
      @whoitisnot 10 месяцев назад +2

      @@classicaloracle Yes, it does cheapen it. That's exactly what bugs me. The lack of respect for the composer's intentions.

    It is a great performance, not doubt, but music is not a race to the end...
