Great video, after watching I realized I never lined up my primary cover with the spider after cleaning. Fixed it thanks to you pointing it out in this video.
You just held onto the clutch while removing spring ? I thought the tension would have pushed crazy hard and went flying ? You made this look very easy.
I have one more question if I may. I have a 2018 VK pro 2 and my clutch is trashed. I was thinking of replacing it with a powerblock 80 . Is this a good idea? Is it a good clutch? Is it quieter? Is it better? Thanx for your input!! Cheers.
@@luckygoose844 I am not sure how good those are. The clutch is not what makes noise on that machine. It’s the stub shaft counter weight. It will rattle less but will still rattle. I’d just toss on another Yamaha clutch or you could contact Thunder Products clutching and the may be able to rebuild that.
How much in Canadian is this clutch kit worth? My sled is a minty low kn 06 apex gt. Its updated but otherwise stock other then a swis cheese muffler mod so what other mods would i need to help this kit work
@@Totallyamaha not exactly sure what you mean by roller secondary? Is this going to change the install procedure or anything specific i need to watch for? Thanks
Excellent video. When replacing stock clutch parts would you recommend aftermarket parts or OEM? Not performance just stock. For a 2009 Vector with 13,000 km. Thanks Mark
@Totallyamaha on the secondary clutch. The clutch sits on the spline which you will have a spacer behind. But the clutch is not going flush to the seat. There is about an 1/4 " remaining it has to go in. But will not move.
Yes you will need a clutch kit with a fuel programmer. You can try to add some weight to the tip but I think it will work way better all the way around if you do the kit. Try Ulmer Racing.
Great vid, I have done clutches for a decade and still forget every year, this was a great reminder!!!

Your welcome!!
Nice Tech Vid. This answered a lot of my questions. Thanks.
Great Video! Thanks!

Do any of the pins, rollers, shafts or any other parts in these clutches get grease? Or is it a totally dry assembly? Thanks.
Totally dry assembly.

Great video guys appreciate it.
Thank you!!
Great video
Do what changes were noticable with this clutch kit.
I already posted the gains. 2-3 sled lengths. Bottom and mid range acceleration.
Which video is the gains?
@@stephenrand5033 there is none.
Awesome thanks for the help
Good video I am doing same thing to my nytro. Shouldn't you be using Loctite and maybe some lube on the pins?
MrSprintcat. No and no. What makes you think that?
I just thought it would make the weights go in and out a lot easier
MrSprintcat I have seen graphite used but it’s best to leave them dry with the material used in the bushings. If torqued properly never use loc-tite
Okay thank you will do .
great vid but you said nothing about what exactly the changes would will do for tbe performance of the sled? what exactly does it improve?
Great mid-range power as well as a little on top end. About 2-3 sled length over stock.

Contact Ulmer Racing for current pricing.
You can also open up the air box lid with some cold air vents.
I have a sr Viper and wondering what clutch kit would get me the best ski lift. I want to be able to do better wheelies.
What sled do you have? LTX or XTX? Any boost?

Great job on Video... :)
where do i get the clutch kit ?
Have you noticed different between stock and aftermarket one.
Hey @totallyamaha is this going to be the exact same install as on a 19' Sidewinder?
Yes, other then the Sidewinder has a roller secondary not a button.

Mark Bow oem if you don’t have a clutch kit.
Can you tell me if these machines . The clutch is pressed over the spine or does it just freely slide to the seat.
I am not following you. Please clarify. Primary clutch or secondary clutch? Maybe go to our website, register and ask questions.

@@dustinfeaver215 if it’s not on splines correctly it won’t go on all the way. You have to mesh the splines.

It would be better if you register and post these questions on the forum on Totallyamaha.net
Ulmer racing is only 15 miles from me :D
thy didnt change the clutching system .my sx 700 has same clutching .
You should mark a line on the cover and Spider so put everything back for balance of the Clutch parts
No need to , they have an X stamped into all mating parts to keep them aligned for balance.
Contact Ulmer Racing....google search them. Cant post links in here.
I need a clutch kit for my phazer it hits rev limiter
You could add more tip weight first.. 4 stroke or 2stroke ?
Totallyamaha 4 stroke it has a exhaust and a fuel programmer it's a mtx so I think the promblem is that it is clutched for high elevations
