Matt said between 75k-80k people died in Emon.
In the campaign, they completely lost track of Gilmore immediately after the dragons attacked. They went to look for him the next day and found people looting the ruins of his shop for items to give to Thordak. They discussed following some of them to possibly get some of Gilmore's stuff back, but ultimately decided to search the rubble for Gilmore. They found him in the basement dying of injuries he'd gotten while saving Uriel's family. Matt said if they hadn't found him, he would have actually died.

@@rendalconstantineau1680 I think they took some inspiration from Catastrophic Dragons, which are Dragons in d&d that aligned with the Primordials of the elemental planes and were infused with huge amounts of elemental power until they were more elemental than flesh. They are living disasters (like tsunamis, firestorms, avalanches, earthquakes, ect) that lay dormant until they absorb enough of a shock of their given elemental affinity to wake up. Many seem to go a bit crazy from the chaotic elemental energies. There is a good lore video on RUclips for those interested.
Thordak is pulling elemental power from the plane of fire via the crystal in his chest, causing his body to swell and causing some mental instability. So I think Matt conceived him as partway becoming a Catastrophe Dragon.

Raishans full title is Raishan the Diseased Deceiver for a reason. If you want to know how correct your theory is.
Your theory is correct. Tho it is actually a change from the campaign. She's disguised as a different person in the campaign it actually takes awhile for VM to realize as it's a body language not a physical attribute that would key them in... But they rolled very bad perception checks when in front of the person and so didn't notice they're weird body language... but the green eyes are a dead give away, in the show.
