It seems that MP2 is trying to be more in line with modern board game sensibilities, by being less punishing and more open to exploration. It sounds similar to the feeling of Agricola versus Caverna (although it seems to be much more similar to MP1 than Caverna is similar to Agricola)

That's true, people these days prefer less punishing games, if you remember Yedo, they re-publish on Kickstarter the less punishing options for the game. And true, I do think Caverna is a bit more easier than Agricola heh. Which one do you like better, MP2 or MP1 Yannis?

HI Stella. Jade can be exchanged not only for camels but also coins. At the first glance, the game looks easier, but is it? The game now constantly moves (2 new action cards each turn, new book offers) and forces you to re-think. It is also longer on average by 30 min (all player counts). Also on travelling - you now have to get to a specific location to get contracts (in MP1 you could just get them from a specific spot). The game is in my opinion maybe different enough to own both, but need to play MP2 a bit more and also return to playing some MP1. I know for sure I enjoy them both a lot.

Hello Stolovky. It is medium-is complexity game, and maybe coz I like "travelling" and it is a little easier on MP2, then I like MP2 a little bit better? :) I imagine the sequel of a game, usually fixes a few things from the first one. But still, both are very good games! Thank you for watching!

No worries, thank you for watching. We're keeping both for now, but for space sake, we may give up our Marco Polo 1, it seems similar enough but we prefer MP2 better :). But there are some others that like MP1 better, so it depends :)
