I have a lot of questions for each number: 1) how do get a company like a factory to make the product at a faster scale? 2) if your packaging by yourself where would you get the plastic from and shape it to the right size? how do you find your nutrition and facts and have the state approve your food item? 3) if your product is new what can make it stand out so that the company would want to invest? What price should I set it to?
Find a manufacturer. There’s one here in Largo, Fl called Formulated Solutions. They don’t answer the phone though 🙄 Gotta leave a message and they’ll call you back.
@@MarketingFoodOnline it really helped also is there a way to get my product to distributor and wholesalers to buy from me? Is there a video to explain why most of them don't accept the product or how to make the product suitable for the market and make good numbers of sales?
Great video fantastic pointers, I recipe for potato salad and I've been told that I should consider patent & market it for sale and don't how to get started? I'm not sure if it sells or If i just want to sell the recipe out right.... any pointers?
In my county there is no cottage permits, we have to use a state certified kitchen. I thought this video was going to be about how to use a co-packager. I don’t want to make any if my items myself. Can you make a video about that plz?
Hi Damian, Referring to the packaging. Would you suggest I outsource the packaging design? Or stay with clear packaging for now as I don't know how well it will do in the market. Its for a protein bar. Thank you
thanks for asking yes I would always start with whats in your budget packaging can look great without breaking the bank outsource the "design" yes ! and print them yourself . online labels .com is what I use they are great my channel here has several how to print your lable videos to help. the most expensive part of a food business is the start as sales pick up your costs go down.
If you are starting from home and going to be shipping nationwide, what would you put as your distributor address and information on your labeling? Obviously one would not want to have their home address on labels.
hello under cottage food laws each state dictates the label requirements many if not all make it mandatory that the label have home address, BUT there are only a couple states that allow interstate shipping, once you begin to ship food from one state to the next you need to be in a commercial setting like a warehouse and permitted to do so and FDA food facility registration as well.
I have a problem with the number 3 which is how to sell it How can i market the products to the wholesalers or distributors? How to make them buy a new product to the market while there is a thousands of items is produced by large famous companies I'm sick and tired of this business as I only focus on developing new recipes and my commercial kitchen but there is no pay back and actual sales to move on
I have an idea for creating a coffee replacement mix. Could something like that be mixed in a home kitchen? i have no clue how to start to go about it.
Yes you could as long ast the item does not NEED to be kept at a certain temp. If it is a powder shelf stable yes most states would aloow this under cottage food laws.
Well this is based on where your making it from . From home under cottage food laws there are laws allowing in certain states you can make at home and sell and labeling is guided by cottage food laws. The FDA does not oversee these laws the states and local agencies do. If your in a commercial kitchen you will need to have your facility inspected and registered with the FDA, licenses, insurance etc.
