- Jerry Lee Lewis's ill-fated 1958 England tour hits rock bottom as hostile concertgoers react with jeers and catcalls to the news that he'd married his 13-year-old cousin. He left the UK a few days later, after the rest of his dates were cancelled, to find his popularity had plummeted back home too. Film co-stars Winona Ryder as Myra & Alec Baldwin as pastor cousin Jimmy Swaggart. (*apologies for low volume).

Jerry lee lewis was twisted for marrying his cousin but still kinda felt bad for him on this scene.
I’m from around where he is, I see nothing wrong with it personally, but he should have told her parents, I will agree with that. He didn’t deserve how he got treated May of 58. He came back strong in 69 though.

The most ironic thing about this is while people were so called shocked & considered Lewis a pariah, it was common for men to date & marry underaged girls. And Priscilla was living in Elvis Presley's house at the age of 14. Yet no one said anything ABOUT Elvis & his taste for youmg girls

Priscilla was 21 by the time they got married. Jerry Lee bigamously married his 13 year old second cousin. Big difference.

I like Quaid as Jerry Lee but his lip sync is far too exagerated - proper mixing to simulate live acoustics would have helped a lot, but he almost never looks like he's really singing.
I totally agree. It's my favorite movie and he did a good job playing him but I've always disliked the lip syncing.
Why were they even attending at all? Why not just go get refunds?
Probably because just like today you only get a refund if the show's been cancelled. Won't get one just because you don't agree with something the performer has said or done that's come to light.
It was wrong that he married his 13 year old cousin. I don’t know why they wouldn’t just skip the concert though. I wouldn’t go to a concert and just sit there being angry at a perv all night I just wouldn’t go.
Maybe they thought he might explain/apologise/announce-divorce.?
