So glad to finally see Krysta Cameron getting some recognition for her talents; too many people only watch the IWABO videos with just Courtney LaPlante when doing their reactions, and I love her work too, but Krysta deserves to be commended for her serious talent. If memory serves, she wrote the lyrics about her mother's battle with alcohol addiction, so that part that you liked so much (a favorite of mine as well) with the kick drums really highlights the sense of impending doom, I suppose, that is reflected in Krysta's lyrics when she sings, "She sits /She waits / Mama you are killing yourself". Really, really beautiful song that I think more people should listen to. Great, great band. This song is a great example of, like you called it, the music coalescing with what is being spoken of lyrically.
THIS is Krysta, who left to have a child with then-hubby Darroh Sudderth in 2012. he was the legendary lead singer for the now-defunct band (but still my favorite) FAIR TO MIDLAND. i can only imagine what kind of voice talent that kid might have.
Nope this was their original singer Krysta Cameron, great showcase of her cleans versus screams, both are sick, so glad you felt this one, I loooove Courtney don’t get me wrong but Krysta will forever be my favorite, she’s my metal vocal goddess for all of time 🙏 lol Thanks for checking out more from them! If you want another good Courtney song next I would check out Thunder Chunky. And if you’d like to stay with the older stuff with Krysta then I’d suggest Tastes like Kevin Bacon. Also so glad you noticed so much of the drumming in this song. This guy, Mikey Montgomery, is the reason I play drums to this day 🤘
hell yea krysta is amazing theres so much she brings to the song that i just really love something about it just fits me perfectly. courtney is amazing for sure especially in that song with make suffer! im happy iwabo introduced me to her i listened to unicron in the past but not that much more as a it sometimes plays randomly
i like how you described her vocals as an instrument i never really look at reaction videos or look up music stuff in general like that so that really made me think of how i love my music. vocals as an instrument. lyrics are cool but if i dont like the texture and sound and the way it fits i have a harder time to get into it. maybe thats why i like this band so much because her unique sound fits me so
I met them and seen them in 09 at the Altar Bar in Pittsburgh 😊 They were super fun live. IWAB gave a goofy and party like vibe during there performances

This bassline is really underappreciated. I'm so glad you highlighted it. This is my favorite song by iwrestledabearonce. Great reaction!

It’s not Courtney. It’s Krysta. Courtney doesn’t give that kinda raw feeling in her growls and screams
Absolutely love this band, every iteration! The more you listen the better it gets!
