It does not matter for us wether we carry loads or not, sherpas name are already known all over the world. I am a sherpa from the modern generation but my craving for learning and speaking sherpa language is still high. We wont let our culture get lost. I will teach my children the sherpa language and sherpa culture. Proud being a sherpa. Terila tashidele( greetings to everyone who are watching this)
I’m also Sherpa from Bhutan and this video reminds me, our language is really getting the side effects of modernization. We are losing our language, couture and tradition. Thank you for the documentary.
I belong from Sherpa community. I'm proud to be Sherpa. Thank you very much for making this documentary film. Many many nice lesson to all in this film. Thuze xhe, thank you.
Watching the old man lovingly treating his grandchild reminds me we are all one people and the same at heart ! At the end of the day that's all there is !
Totally agree with the wife of Mimgma . Being born and raised in city I dont have any insights about my own culture and language which for me is pretty sad but whatelse could they do since they were so busy on working just to provide good food and education to their children. I'm an architecture student and researching for my thesis on "Sherpa Architecture Culture and Trails" so huge thanks to the directors and team members who covered this beautiful story. This helped to understand my ancestors lives in more deeper way. Maybe I can do something to bring these issues into light for better life at Himalayas. Thank you and god bless!!
In Bhutan, There is also small minority of Sherpa residing in western/southern Bhutan. Recently I came across one of the most Heartbreaking Documentary based on Mt. Everest, Sherpa's saving one English man's life! So I Prolly believe they're born with great extra ordinary physical strength and hats off to their purified heart! 💕💓🙏#Bhutan.
I have gone through so many documentaries in recent times. But this old one is the best documented film in the RUclips. I imagine how hard I was to film in those days in that area
Great n nice documentary of Himalaya sherpa... A monk is one of oldest kopan monastery monk. He is so humble n passed very peaceful... Om Mani Peyme Hung...
I had read that there were mountaineers who were carried on the shoulder by the sherpas because they were exhausted and absolutely wanted to reach the summit, do you have any confirmations?
Leading Sherpas (Sirdars) are often the most experienced mountaineers of the whole group - so they would not choose a happy westerner over the safety of the whole group ! If any climber got so weak that he got to be carried, there is absolutely no logic in moving him even higher, of course you start to descent !
Yes, climbers are sometimes carried by sherpas. But only down, not up. If you have to be carried up, you have no chance on any 8000 peak. But yes, sherpas do rescue operations to carry sick, weak or injured or dead climbers back down to base camp.
No here we believe in buddha's and their teachings....... we don't need jesus to get rebirth. What we need is good karma. According to the sakhyamuni what ever religion u follow doesn't matter, to get rebirth a good karma and your pure soul is what is needed.
Why poor Tenzing again and again.....those are his riches....not lyk us trapped in a rat race......he is happy n u should appreciate brave and happy Tenzing and his wife...the way he lives....Love from Darjeeling...India and lastly the load of firewoods on his back is much more lighter than a credit card due date...and EMI'$
Of all the working people in the world who are used, abused, underappreciated and soon forgotten about by the rich people of the world the Sherpas stand at the summit (pun intended).
Yup, they speak Tibetan but with different dialect just like other Tibetans who have amdo dialect, utsang dialect, etc..Nepali won’t understand one bit what they sherpa are saying but Tibetans can.
I got up to 11:50. There's no reincarnation of any previous Lama. Or anyone else. There is death and then judgment. Only Jesus Christ can save people from being eternally lost. He alone died to pay for our sins. Otherwise, we pay for them forever, in Hell. It's so heartbreaking to see people following these falsehoods.

Please do all you can to share more of your culture with people all over the world!
Being a young Sherpa from Kathmandu, I can see my parents and grandparents story in this documentary. Thuchejhe. Thank you.
I’m also Sherpa from Bhutan and this video reminds me, our language is really getting the side effects of modernization. We are losing our language, couture and tradition. Thank you for the documentary.
thats what ur ancestors are famous for losing identity🤣
Its a shame that separation is a cultural norm. Does not promote the extension of culture or preserve a place which requires cooperation

Mingma’s wife is right Sherpa name and culture will die along with the language, they should maintain it .
Just great life and Happy life
Long life an all Sherpa 💚🙏🧡
If the monks were truly good they would go ahead and try to cure him without demanding payment that no poor farmer can afford to pay. So sad.
