Daily Life of Disappearing Sherpas: Life in the Sherpa Tribe at the Foot of the Himalayas in Tibet

- The Sherpas are scattered along both sides of the Himalayas, primarily residing in Nepal, with a small number living in China, India, and Bhutan. In the China Tibet, there are only around 2,000 Sherpas, residing in the Zhangmu and Chentang Gully beneath the Himalayas on the southwestern border of China Tibet. In this video, JamYang personally takes you to visit the Sherpas in Tibet, witnessing how this unique yet vulnerable ethnic group thrives and lives for generations under the mist-shrouded and secluded foothills of the Himalayas. Due to the already sparse population of Sherpas decreasing each year, it is possible that in a few years, you may no longer find their existence on Earth. If you are interested in visiting this disappearing tribe and experience their pure and unique life, please do plan about 10 days in Tibet and do contact me at jamyangtour@gmail.com , I will take you there.

About Me - Jamyang
I am Jamyang, and I have been working as a tour guide with Tibet Vista Tour for 15 years. In 2020, during the Covid-19 global pandemic, I lost my job of being a tour guide, with the support of the company, I immersed myself in filming videos and documenting the culture of Tibet. My goal is to share the beautiful landscapes of Tibet, Tibetan culture, and the genuine and enchanting lifestyle of the local Tibetans with people around the world who love and care about my beloved hometown Tibet. If you plan to visit Tibet, be sure to get in touch with me. I can show you the best and most authentic Tibet.

The mom is always smiling. Such a lovely attitude. A beautiful family❤
Sherpas have been unsung heroes of the tallest peaks, but it's much more than that: they're heroes to their communities.
Beautiful video, JamYang ~ You're becoming a true filmmaker ~ a documentarian for a part of the world still mysterious to us.
Thank you

Happy new year Dear Brother. Your videos gives us so much joy and peace. Thank you for your work. God bless you
Beautiful! And everyone looks so happy .. wish I was born there , the life is western world is so melancholic
Such beautiful people. Thanks for sharing these amazing videos.
It is so nice to see that the Sherpa people in Nepal and China still have many similarities as the knife that Tashi was carrying around his waist and the same knife that Dolma was using it to chop the meat is called ' Khukuri' in Nepalese and is common in Nepal. Similarly, the wooden basket used to carry the baby is also used by mothers in rural Nepal. Also, the chilli that Tashi used to make cheese soup is commonly found in Nepal . Jamyang, thank you for this Nice and interesting video!
A very thorough and in-depth informative video you have made, keep up the good work!
i met some sherpa living in tibet and i asked if they spoke nepali they said no only tibetan and sherpa and surprisingly they never been to nepal so makes sense
Sherwa or Sherpa is a Tibetan word and Sherpas are Tibetan people

Thank you Ad so much 🙏🇨🇦
The black yak was very beautiful. I also like they work in the community all together. They not alone, elderly are integrated till they die, have a fulfilling live for their extended families. l am pleased for them, when they can make a living without climbing the mountains with all the luggage for the tourists, many have died over the years, there were many natural major disasters. Thank you, we could see their lives, and health, prosperity, blessings for all of them for 2024. Thank you greetings from Australia

Really hard working people...❤❤...we too live here with Sherpas and Bhutias in Darjeeling..
Tashi delek Jamayang la.. proud to be Sherpa… though being in India for so long time… we haven’t forgotten our tradition and culture… my grandfather used to told me that their grandfather and father came from Tibet to Nepal and then settled to India Darjeeling. Thanks for ur video thuchchay….
If they are recently from tibet then they are not really "sherpa" tbh.
Wow nice
Happy new year 🎆
By the way , Chinese Sherpas don't do porter job and they don't claim Qomolangma ( Mt.Everest ) , it's they're holy mother , on the left side of their traditional hat ( for female ) you can see some metal coins line up like a mountain , that means Qomolangma .
Beautiful family
I ❤your channel
16:13 Wow they're eating the very famous - millet “Dhindo” Nepalese dish 😳
Beautiful TIBET and Tibetan people❤
Tashidelek 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Love from Shar khumbu, Nepal.
Nice🙏
Beautiful place and people
18:27 Looks like Nepalese Sherpa village - Namche Bazar, but less colourful 😛
The wooden floor, making Zengong and the ploughing with tzo are exactly the same as us in Ladakh, India.
Bring more videos ❤
It's Tibet tours, not kashmir tours, but wood be a good idea 🙏🙏🙏 amituofu
amazing people
Tashi Delek
I hope they keep their traditions for 1000 years
Om Tare Tutare Ture Swoha🙏🙏🙏🌷🌷🌷
I’m amazed in childhood my grandmother used to make that millet lunch ❤️🔥very similar
It is beautiful…
Namaste and Tashi delek from Nepal
I hope the Chinese-Tibetan Sherpa can survive with their culture intact. I think the guide said the big basket was 70 Yuan, which comes to about USD9.80. Pretty good money for Tashi, the basket-maker. This was a delightful glimpse of these wonderful people!
Love the song (not the background music, starts at 9:50), what is the title of that song?
Wow, hats off 🤗 they have enough work to do and am complaining here for small things 😢
