Good job guys. Some tips for future videos: 1 when telling the specs of the equipment you should roll some B footage of the speaker, 2 you should post some frequency response measurements on different axes ( 0-15-30-45 degrees). Also get a table for smaller equipment like this.
Class "A/B" (KRK) VS class "D" (JBL) circuitry on the subs. Big difference. I'm sure the KRK sub has more headroom due to it having a power transformer. Comparing apples to oranges 5" vs 8"? I have a set of JBL LSR 2325's (5") and an older pair of first generation KRK V6's (6"). In comparison, the V6's sound better and are great for listening. The JBL's are flatter and truer sounding. I have mixed on both. My mixes using the KRK V6's are usually bass light due to their bass heavy translation. The JBL's on the other hand are very true and little correction is needed. Studio monitors are not supposed to sound good. They are supposed to accurately translate the source that is fed into them, without coloring the sound.
Hi, can you do a subwoofer test yamaha hs8s
why compare an 8" to a 5"?? rokit has a 5" too and jbl an 8"...
Exactly!
There is also a JBL 308P MkII + 8" driver.... but I'm sure you did with what you could get your hands on :)
Does the jbl have a limiter built-in incase we may push it too hard?
Yep. My 305p mk2 does
@@AnzaSengani how do you know?
@@ProducedByChristo it cuts the power when the transducer moves too much or if there's a very very high pitched sound like a gun fire at full volume , the light goes off for a sec too .
@@AnzaSengani Okay thanks
How do you do a vs. when one is 8 in and the other is 5in
That’s the first Rokit 8 generation. They are up to the 4th generation.
There was one model before that called the "V" series.
Probably all he had at the time, chill
@@clicks59 Yeah, I knew about the Pre-Rokit KRK products. My understanding is that the Rokit series is the entry-level line. The V series are still around, though they were known as VXT for a while and they are the higher end product. I was just going through the history of the Rokit series products. To be fair, I did miss a 3rd generation Rokit 4, which was only available for a few years.
Is that room sound proofed they sound great:)
What's the best direction to face the JBL sub cabinet in the room (ie. facing the wall, how close to the wall, facing me)? Room size = 11 ft x 13 ft., height = 8 ft. Thanks!
Thanks!
We have the same KRK set. My sub was in storage for a while and the audio board got damaged. Is there a place or site to get this part?
that lsr305 is not the current gen.. that is gen 1.. the one on amazon are mkii (gen2).. you can tell because the new ones have horrid glossy font face plates on them. hopefully jbl increases their IQ and goes back to matte in the mk3
Ah, thanks for clarifying!
bruh thos krk speakers are like 10 years old i had them when it 1st came out
Still expensive
@@LochNessAnthony you can find 8 @ 100 for the pair that's like 300 a speaker for the g4 8 that's pretty dam cheap
@@noahwallace3458 wot... they’re still expensive
@@LochNessAnthony what do you consider cheap then?? 30 bucks?? 💀
please make a video yamaha dbr12 vs jbl eon 612
very informatiuve. Ordering the JBLs for my HS8's mainso so the HS8s don't have to work as hard.
Never seen the g1's
He said entry level 😂
These are entry level.
@@MotivatedMetalworks So it’s not worth getting these!!! May as well trash 🚮 them. Not and good
@@hailnaryproductionz3661 Just because they're entry level doesn't mean they're bad.
I don't need $5,000 a pair Focal or Dynaudio reference monitors, even if I could afford them. I've been running KRK v8's since 2004 on my workstation, and just got a pair of Rockit 7g4's for my living room.

It’s kinda hard to take this serious when comparing a 5” to an 8”… and as far as when you said these 2 as being the 2 most popular/common in a studio, yamaha hs5 and hs8 are definitely the most used studio monitors universally id say… Krk’s are definitely up there but you typically won’t find any jbl’s in any serious studio setting…
