What To Do if Your Keyless Entry Card System Doesn't Work - Renault UK

- It is simple to access your vehicle if your Keyless Entry Card stops working. As explained in the video all you need to do is push the grey button on the card and use the emergency key instead. You can then use the card to start the engine as normal.
The most common reason for the Keyless Entry Card not working is due to a low battery. You can find out which batteries you require in the owners manual - and if you can't find your manual, you can download it from My Renault: my.renault.co.uk/
If the Keyless Entry Card is still not working, you will need to visit your Renault Dealer who can diagnose the problem.

In the title of this video kindly edit the subject to include something like "how to replace battery in the keyless entry card". I was struggling to change the battery as per Renault manual but I couldn't. Your video makes our life so easy to change the battery in such a easy way. A big thank you.
James Chacko pppoolkkkkkiuh,huh. ,hfft
How can you struggle to replace the battery?😳😳
Brillant saved me a fortune ..thank you so much 🙏
Great Video, thank you.
Had to use this method twice to get into my car, both times when I opened the door it set the alarm off, not great in a quiet cul de sac at 5.30 am. Is there any way to stop that happening.
i have a 2006 grand scenic and I drove the car away but my wife had the key in her handbag the car beeped and card not detected came up but didn't stop me from driving the car away
if it still doesn't work, "you have to visit your local Renault dealer"... and spend a shed load of money either getting a new card or having the card reader replaced because the technology is rubbish
What if the passenger side lock is broken??? & the battery is dead?
Wow!!! This was very helpful.
Thank you

yer they didn't think that one out too well did they
And with a flat battery it doesn’t lock!! Can’t go to shops and buy batteries and leave my doors unlocked??
Can you bypass the fob altogether, my card stopped working, I could get in but not start the car, not the battery, it was the cheap circuit board. It's a flawed system, there should be a key override to start the car as there is to get into the car.
Did you ever get this resolved? If so what was the problem and more importantly the cost? I’ve got the same issue currently with my capture
@@demibrown7390 ended up getting a bew key off ebay, a decent one and calling a mobile guy in for £120 to deprogram my others and program the new one, sadly I couldn't afford a sencond key so being really careful with this one
I've got a Renault Megane convertible I've tried the key on the fob but it dont fit in the passenger handle
Hi Alexander, we’d recommend contacting your nearest Renault dealer here bit.ly/35fpGPE and they can look into this for you and if necessary, order you a new key. The cost is approx. £100 - £120 and when ordering, you'll need to provide your car registration document and photo ID. Keys normally take 7-10 working days to be delivered and once they've arrived, you'll need to bring your car back to the dealer so that they can be coded together. This will cost approx. £50-£60. You’ll be in good hands with our team!
So as i go to the store and buy another battery, how do i lock the car?? Becouse the manual key doesnt lock all doors just the drivers door. You dont mention how lock the car back!
Hi André, you can physically lock the other doors from the inside and then when exiting, lock the driver's door from the outside and this will mean all doors are locked whilst you purchase your new battery. Hope this helps!
@@RenaultUKOfficial in the Renault clio 2016 model, there are no manual locks inside! I am having this problem now!
Hi Dawn, you can use the integrated keycard blade to lock and unlock the driver’s door from the outside. You can also use the Renault Anti-Intruder Device (RAID) on the centre console if you’re inside the car. With the engine switched off and an opening element (door or boot) open, just press and hold the switch for more than five seconds then as soon as a door is closed, all the doors will lock. Finally, you can lock the doors manually by locating the screw in the door jamb, turning it and closing the door. This means that the doors are locked from the outside and can only be opened from the inside or by using the integrated keycard blade. Please refer to the ‘Getting to know your vehicle’ section in your handbook which will show you further details on how to do this. Hope this helps!
How to start the car with the key from the card
The key and the fob not working (with new battery) what now?
I had this problem at my holiday address. Yes, it was fcked up. Had to pay € 120 to the local dealer (the next day) to start the car again with another key card. Turns out you can't start the car (Megane 3, 2012) with the manual key.
you're always worth ordering a spare when it cost £170 just for one £70 for the key and £100 for Renault to take 1 Minutes program it or Less I thought it comes programme when you order it
scam
Unlikely event
Renault is known for electrical problems to even include a simple keyless entry to join the problems? Wtf
Brilliant but what if the car battery is flat. I can't even open the door with the emergency key. Never buy a renault again.
On my laguna, I can open the door even when the battery is disconnected. The door lock is mechanical, it has nothing to do with the battery.
@@Rennradu correct but there is a well known fault with the lock. Unlucky for me my mechanical lock was faulty. Used a locksmith to break in and he fixed the mechanical lock on the door £90.
@@Hitngan every other car with a flat battery will experience the SAME THING. Don't blame the car for this "defect"
Go buy a Mercedes you will be happy for a year or two if you are lucky
That POS card ain't worth 10 eur, anything above that is robbery.
You have the option of purchasing a second key? Seriously? All vehicles come with at least two keys, come on Renault...
Renaults do come with two keys. He’s talking about replacing a faulty one, which would get you back from one key to two.
So hiw do you lock the car if the car battery is dead. Not a very useful videro
If the key not working it doesn’t matter how you get in the car no lights will come on which means you won’t be able to turn on the engine- however I am sitting in the car after 7 hours in the cold with baby to have someone to come and fix it. So why a brand new car should have a dead battery or similar issue knowing no light or anything it’s Been left on over the night. Saying this to make sure Renault it’s not a car to go for because I am facing this issue 3rd time . What a mistake. Absolute shit
I have had 3 Scenics. Love the practicality but the electronics are shite. Next car will be a Toyota.
there is no power to the car when i insert fob, answer that one renault
Useless update.. Not tally with tge title
In the passenger door lock? Renault is so cheap, I'm from a left hand drive country and the lock is in the driver's side, which means Renault always puts it in the same door, regardless of the country they are selling the car in xD. Also, notice the key is only cut in one side, meaning you can only insert it a certain way. Small detail, but if you look at other car keys, they are all cut on both sides.
Thanks Christie Christie good afternoon thanks for
Or maybe Renault stupid Key bad engineering internal parts broken after while of use. Why do I need to damage my key case just to open the key? Stupid engineering.
Or you could just always have a fucking door lock and not a pile of badly built French shite that self destructs as soon as you drive off the forecourt.
Not useful at all!
😂😂😂 this has to be the Stupidest nwo feature I have seen...so the key was for security and the battery was to do what loose customers for the dumbest 🙄 pointless battery....
or just don't buy a Renault all together, fobs should last for a lifetime
