New Year's Day Flight at Snake River Canyon with an Autel Nano Plus

- What a perfect way to ring in the New Year with a flight at Dedication Point with the Auto Nano Plus.
Despite my apprehension, the Nano Plus behaved well as it took its first flight over the canyon rim. The video I viewed on the iPhone during the flight looked spectacular. All seemed well.
Then I reviewed the footage taken with the Autel Nano plus and while the 'out of the box' footage is quite good, there is very prominent Jello artifact captured throughout the canyon video. I'll have to check the gimbal, calibrate it and see if it reoccurs. Maybe add Polar Pro filters? In any case, it is quite disappointing for me.
Why does it seem this Nano can be so promising yet so flawed? So frustrating!
Nevertheless, I will persist.

Tania Gail, I never get tired of seeing the Snake River Canyon. Such a wonderful spot to fly from. I see Marcus has already responded, I think he had the same issue with his Autel. Again, beautiful, short flight. Thanks for sharing. Keep them coming.
Just emailed Autel. I was so happy after this flight as the video transmitted to my iPhone looked spectacular and the drone behaved well. It was crushing to see the jello artifact when I reviewed the drone footage at home.

Nice job Tania. I'm glad you had a good flight with the Nano, but yeah, that jello was significant. You should contact Autel support on that one.

Not sure if you know it or not but "daho Quadcopter" used that same spot to fly from quite often. Nice video, when you are in the air you might tilt the camera down just a little. It would make for a better video for your viewers.

Indeed @idahoquadcopter does use the same location to fly.
There was a little jello. Not anywhere near as bad as my Phantom 3. Was it windy??? I think that and sensor read-out speed can affect that. Were you recording at 30fps or something else? In camera land we call it “rolling shutter”.
Hi! Little bit more then camera 'rolling shutter'. Went out the following day after calibrating the gimbal and found far worse performance (working on the video tonight). I prefer to work in 60fps, I'll have to check the screen record to see if this was the case, as this is a new drone system for me. Such a disappointing start with this little drone.
