No playing around in this recording session. Message strong and bold still reverberating from this sonic blast with a the tired Sahara Desert driver aka Ginger Baker hitting da beat. What a treat post-Halloween. Tricks on corruption of Nigeria & Greater African nations north--south- east and west. JJ

CLASSIC live album, easily Top 10 on my personal list as well as one of the most influential from that golden '70s decade for that matter. Makes a great primer for folks who have no clue of who Fela is or the profound impact he had on the world music scene even long after his passing 26 years ago. Having legendary UK drummer Ginger Baker (RIP) sitting in with Fela's band was merely extra icing on an already well-layered chocolate fudge cake!

Saw Ginger Baker play with an African ensemble at City Winery in Chicago before he passed away. He was very fragile at first and then gained power and vitality as he drummed. I was astonished at how well he played when at first he didn't look like he could beat a lick. Saw his son play too once and he was fire too..... R.I.Play Ginger Baker we miss you ❤❤❤
