Another great video! I've just subscribed to the channel. WRT the lard lamp, how far do you fill the lard level up to top of the copper tube? I presume the heat generated from the flame will radiate into the copper to make the surrounding lard melt enough to keep wicking? Just one other thing, how long would you expect the burn time to be? Thanks in advance for a reply.

Thank you for subscribing first of all and I usually put about four to five teaspoons of lard in my lamp at a time when it gets low I just get about four to five teaspoons more I kind of go around my wick.. yes the heat does melt it down to liquefy and keeps it burning all the way to the bottom.. I have found that lard burns faster than Olive oil but I enjoy watching solid fuel go to liquid it's pretty neat I like my Lard lamp it's pretty cool. As far as how long will it burn I just don't know haven't got an answer to that one it's kind of hard to answer that question I just burned mine for I don't know an hour 2 hours or so and pretty soon after a few nights of doing that it's time to put about four or five more teaspoons in it burns up pretty quickly but I really enjoy it...

@@tinbender998 Thanks for that. Here in the UK olive/vegetable oil is really expensive and lard is about £1 a block. I've experimented burning it but with a normal wick (no copper sleeve) and the flame drowned itself. When I saw your way of doing it I've been inspired to try again. I think I'll keep to the carbon felt though because of its wicking properties with heavier oils. Thanks again.
