I have four friends in London Ontario. I pull their legs that it is the "Fake" London, says me, Vic the Cockney, from London England. I have stayed in London Ontario a few times visiting. The Park Hotel and the Toddle Inn (which has closed, sadly). Normally a group of us visit from Britain, and we have done every Canadian railway (except Churchill), but including Windsor, Sarnia, Sept Iles to Schefferville, Carcross in Yukon, Vancouver, Calgary, Prince Rupert, Quesnel, Whistler, Prince George, Kamloops, Banff, Jasper, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Halifax, Senneterre, Jonquiere, Cochrane, Moosonee, Quebec and Niagara Falls. Plus St Jacobs to Waterloo, Orangeville to Brampton, La Malbaie, Wakefield, the South Simcoe etc. My wife flew in the co-pilot's seat of a DH3 Otter from Victoria to Vancouver, but being a railfan, I preferred my ride on the locomotives from Emeril Junction to Esker, Ottawa Science Museum, Whytes Park to Port Stanley, Vancouver, Edmonton and Winnipeg. Canada is a great country, and the Canadians are great people. We also had our honeymoon in Canada, on the Canadian, and fell in love with the place.

I’ve flown on one of these, but…it wasn’t in Canada. Several years ago, I was on holiday in Malta and HarbourAir were operating a plane from the Grand Harbour, flying over the island, across to Gozo and then back again. Having never been on a seaplane before, I couldn’t resist booking a flight. These are fantastic aircraft and it was an incredible experience taking off on water, especially somewhere like the Grand Harbour. Perfect visibility from the aircraft, which meant I was able to take plenty of pictures on the flight. Would thoroughly recommend it, but HarbourAir no longer do the flights from Malta, which is a shame, because it is an unforgettable experience.

The only time I flew in anything smaller than a commercial jet was a friend's Cessna 150 that he flew for sightseeing over the Outer Banks of North Carolina. This takes me back to 2009, when I took an 11 day vacation trip to Seattle, including 4 days in Vancouver.
Flew Harbour Air on a one hour air tour of the Cypress Mountain 2010 Winter Olympics site, Horseshoe Bay, Bowen Island, Whistler, Mt. Garibaldi and Indian Arm Lake on the return; only other passengers were 2 older sisters from Sweden who could speak only a little English, but we all had an awesome aerial experience.
Same docks, probably the same turbo Otter (without the video safety message), same takeoff in the channel (and a little nerve-wracking clearing those cargo ships by less than 100 feet 😯), though that passenger terminal / waiting area is new (was only a small, cramped portable building back in 2009).
Glad you had a great experience, Noel! 👍

The best day's flying ever was when I flew the Milk Run, Vancouver Harbour to Ganges on Salt Spring Island in a Turbine Otter, transferring onto a Beaver for the short hop to Maple Bay on Vancouver Island. I returned to Ganges on the Beaver where I had a couple of hours to wander around the place before my journey back to Vancouver Harbour in the Otter. To top off a memorable day I then jumped on the scheduled service to Victoria Harbour. All five flights took place in glorious sunshine with unlimited visibility with which to enjoy the stunning scenery and the pleasure of alighting and departing from water.

Oh yes Noel that would be a day out I would thoroughly enjoy. Sea plane ride, bit of exploring and some fresh fish and chips. For the experience I would say good value for your dollar / Quid.

Noel I’ve watched the Harbour Air float planes in/out from YVR while spotting Heavies . It look’s like I missed out on adventure. Not to mention another A/C type to have flown on . I’m definitely going to return to Vancouver some day such a wonderful city .👍

I used to take Harbour air over to Nanaimo ever month or so for work. Such a great flight! Enjoy! ( Flying co-pilot is a real treat)
