    Thank you very much, Dr. Travis. I started selling on Amazon just 6 months ago, and I was very stressed out about handling my advertisement since I spent almost 200% of my sales during the first 2-3 months. Then I found your videos and they helped me understand the very basics of Amazon PPC. I must admit that after watching your videos 4 months ago, I was able to control my Account-wise ACoS & I now have pretty much everything under control. Though I am not an expert, I do know how to explore the bigger things with Amazon PPC. As I watch & learn from your videos, I am still gaining a lot of knowledge. Thank you very much

    I have used 2 agencies for 16 months for my skin care line on Amazon. Spending $30k a month on PPC with both agencies (who both have VERY successful companies and results with mulitple verticals) - neither could get skin care, again at $30k+ a month PPC spend, over $.6 ROAS. First agency for 12 months was also $5k a month for their "service" and the other was a smaller more specialized group at $2k a month. Searching for my next agency now and its the same ol pitch... quite frustrating.

    Enjoyed the course. Very helpful a lot of useful tips. I'm currently running my PPC trying to get a product settled in to a profitable spot. The conversion rate for the product overall in terms of the PPC data is about 15% which seems to be good enough to get into a profitable position. Particularly when you consider that the conversion rate is based on a price that is relatively high compared to the competitors. I start off with placement percentages set pretty high and bids at about the suggested bid. TACOS starts off about 35-40% above the break even point but the campaign is spending a lot of money overall. The sales are solid though about 25 units a day. So I start to dial things back slowly. Start dialing the placement percentages back a bit. Not by a lot I do this slowly. After a certain point, it's like the sales just drop off a cliff. Almost like the visibility just plummeted. All of a sudden I'm hoping to get 5-6 sales a day. Perhaps I should just let it run at the 75% TACOS settings for a week or two and incrementally adjust based on CPA from there?

    • @ProfitablePineapple
      @ProfitablePineapple  6 месяцев назад +2

      This tells me you're in a competitive category that costs a lot and you don't have any organic rank.
      You need to push advertising to increase your organic rank which will then decrease your tacos and make you more profitable.
      Also start pushing Google ad traffic as well

      @@ProfitablePineapple Ok great thanks for the advice. Love your videos. I was dialing it back slowly and everything was going fine. Solid sales rate about 25-30 units a day at a relatively high price. Then once I lowered it past a certain point the sales just effectively disappeared. Before lowering past this threshold the TACOS was like 56%. My breakeven is around 44%. Conversion rate has averaged about 15% overall for all campaigns. Once the sales fell off the cliff, I quickly turned the bids and placement percentages back up to where they were and now it's back to a high sales rate (since 12 PM today have already sold 8 units for example).
      Based on the advice in your videos and what you just mentioned, I think what I'll do is obviously don't drop the bids and placements to where the sales go off the cliff. In that case. This will be the 3rd day in a row selling at the 25-30 units a day rate, so I think the organic rate is still climbing I'm guessing it will take a week or a bit longer selling consistently at this rate for the Amazon system to really put my organic positions at higher spots. I'm also not going to touch the PPC settings at least for the next week. After a week or so, I'll have a better sense what is costing me money while also not driving sales and decreasing TACOS. Those keywords/campaigns I can dial back without being so concerned about the "falling off the cliff". For keywords/campaigns that according to the book or according to your principles I should technically try and dial back a bit, I'll be much more careful to make sure these don't fall off the cliff because I may want to keep them for driving TACOS down. I can't do anything right now because I feel like I don't have enough reliable data. But with enough reliable data I'm thinking I should be able to get the TACOS to a profitable position by eliminating what is costing money and not making sales and by also towing that "off the cliff" line as much as I can for keyword that are helping with profit.
      Once it's in a profitable position, I'll start building up the review numbers which should increase the conversion rate and perhaps bring some of the old keywords back into play that initially I had to eliminate.
      And I'll check out the Google Ads video you sent. Thanks for that. I've taken a lot of courses on Google Ads so starting to get more comfortable with it. I'm assuming the conversion rates on Google Ads will be lower than Amazon PPC but I guess the CPCs will also be a bit lower which kind of evens things out. Is that an accurate statement?

    • @ProfitablePineapple
      @ProfitablePineapple  6 месяцев назад +1

      That is accurate.
      Gaining organic rank can also takes months to years in some categories.
      Keep pushing as long as you can as long as your organic sales continue to increase and your tacos continues to decrease.

      @@ProfitablePineapple Dr. Zigler one more quick follow up question on everything discussed above if that's ok. Just trying to get a feel for some nuances that I don't think many courses go into because it's too fine of detail.
      I started at my new price so kind of started PPC on my product afresh last Friday. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday sales were solid about 15% conversion rate average about 25-30 a day. This product has about 40 campaigns created for it (mixture of single keyword campaigns, auto, 5 keywords per campaign, etc.). Total Friday through Saturday, there were 64 total orders associated with PPC. Two campaigns had ACOS above 115% with 6 orders in one and 4 in the other. So it seemed to be high ACOS campaigns not driving too many sales. I know three days is not the most data but I thought I would dial just those two back a bit. But everything else was left exactly the same.
      Today, there have only been 3 total sales (organic + PPC) with 28 clicks and 2 orders on the PPC. But gut is telling me that this is just how it goes if I just let it sit the sales should start coming back as normal. Is that how it goes? Random days will just be slow and low converting? Should I bring those two campaigns I adjusted back up to normal aggressiveness and wait to have at least a week of data before making any adjustments?

    It doesn't work so nicely when you have a product which is too generic, when it comes to KWs. Your products are very specific, but imagine, you are selling a ceiling led lamp, a simple one. So basically, all you have to work with is: flat led ceiling lamp round. You may have also power like 18W, light temperature, and the diameter, but that's often it. Of course, you will still have more generic words and KWs or additional ones that are not an exact match, so the end list can still be huge. However, imagine that you are not converting well on KWs like "ceiling lamp", "ceiling led lamp", "flat led lamp", "flat ceiling lamp" etc. This becomes a very high problem. Competition has good prices and huge amount of reviews, so basically it's hard to compete. Ideally, you would never choose this product, but companies do have such products and want to sell them everywhere and make profit. There is often no ways to distinguish yourself, your PPC budget is not high and competition is strong - it's a though situation. Sure, it is still possible to sell some, but the ACoS will be high and profits very low.
    It's also very hard to distinguish between browse and buy KWs. Also, negatives are hard. For example, someone is searching for "wood lamp" and buying your plastic ceiling lamp that has no decorative, wooden elements. It happens a lot. People are browsing various, loosely related terms, but in the end decide to buy something else. Relevant KWs are not converting well for us (only for top competitors), while rest KWs becomes a very blurry group that is not converting well, or when it is, it changes over time, so one time it converts highly, other badly.
    Sometimes, such generic items may become a hit, because so many people are looking for them, even with high competition, but if you are new, the situation is very unstable, meaning that sometimes it sells well, sometimes not. It's easy to fall off the "visibility bracket" when you are too small.
    Still, the course is great, but it doesn't solve all problems ;).

    Hello Travis, thanks a lot for such an insightful video! I agree that this deep dive is 100% better than any paid course out there! I do have a few questions though:
    1. For KW research, when choosing which KW to keep/remove, do you keep KW that are kind of related to your product? For example, let's say I'm selling stuffed animals, a dog and a cat that both have their own listings. When filtering the keywords for the cat, would I remove all keywords related to dog stuffed animals and any other stuffed animal that is not a cat? Or would I keep them since the cat is still a "stuffed animal".
    2. When getting the keywords from my top competitors, I always get a list of over 10,000 keywords (I'm using Helium10, so the process might be different). How do you go through that many keywords to filter out the ones that don't relate to your product and then attribute them their category out of the 4 mentioned? It seems wayyyy too long to do this by hand...
    3. In chapter 5, when looking at the reports for the keywords to see if we should launch them in their own campaign, I don't quite understand what campaigns these come from prior to that step. Should we do broad and auto campaigns first with a bunch of keywords, let them run for 60 days and then take action based on the reports and the steps mentioned in chapter 5? Basically, I have a hard time understanding how to set up the initial campaigns (even after rechecking chapter 1 multiple times :)) to be able to analyze them afterwards (where chapter 1 starts basically).

    • @ProfitablePineapple
      @ProfitablePineapple  6 месяцев назад +1

      1. For the cat stuffed animal I would eliminate all keywords for other animals such as dog, fish, bear, teddy, etc...

    • @ProfitablePineapple

      2. That is why I don't use Helium 10 anymore and instead use ZonGuru, because the relevance is MUCH better and narrows your keyword list saving you hours of time.

    If you have a lower concerning keyword that is profitable over time and doesn’t hurt your budget, would it be better to just turn those off because it hurts your overall conversion or should I just leave all well alone because it’s not hurting anything? Ie, is having a lower converting KW a net negative to overall organic ranking?

    Hey I have a question about the review automator. I thought that Amazon already did that automatically and that doing it with another software might lead to some kind of issue with them. Am I wrong?

    • @ProfitablePineapple
      @ProfitablePineapple  6 месяцев назад

      I would never rely on Amazon to do it.
      This is pressing a button in Amazon to request a review and not sending them an email. 🍍🍍
