I am really enjoying the segment where the panel has their informal discussion. Hearing the expert's unsanitized and unfiltered opinions, including the not necessarily-for-broadcast body language (and some words normally not considered acceptable for reporting) is amazing ... a lot of normally not broadcast perceptions are presented for us to sift through. More of this format, please!
Particularly when either Lawrence O'Donnell or Rachel Maddow are amongst the panel. Both are keenly observing and wise intellects.

I respect Lawrence's fine work here fully, as always. His is one of the few newsmen and newswomen my day is not completed unless I seek his reportage and commentary out. He is fully of the league including Edward R. Murrow and Walter Cronkite., and I am grateful to be of a certain age that I remember both directly and clearly. His presence in these proceedings is a gift to us during these historic moments we all share. His presence assures me we WILL make it through this increasingly awkward period in our history reasonably intact.

With such show of disrespect to the Court and the Judge, I am very surprised Costello was not slapped with a contempt of court notice and heavily fined or jailed. Judge Merchan is a very patient man.
We did, however, just see his very professional patience draw a very clear line in his sand. I await resumption of the trial after our national holiday.
@@jackstrubbe7608 Indeed, and he had every right to do so. With the Trump buddies in Congress showing up in court, I actually expected one or all of them to create some form of chaos. Perhaps the judge's swift action has sent them a clear signal not to interfere. The last thing Trump wants is to not have reporters or any of his devotees in court.

The best part of this episode was the apparent back stage, supposedly off-camera conversation Lawrence was having with Andrew, Lisa, and the other contributor whose name I always forget. They're talking about the case and NY court system while the commercial is running, not knowing they're on air. Somebody is heard giving them the 30-second warning to get ready for going on-air.

In clearing the courtroom, why did they allow the "red tie brigade" to stay inside the chamber? To stop the curcus outside, or for some other legitimate reason?
Congress shouldn't be allowed to enter the court like that, they are entertaining the jury, that's not fair to the prosecutor.

I hope this jury is able to see just how little respect Trump and his allies have for the rule of law.
They are trying to make a circus of these proceedings then accuse the judicial system of being unfair.
Why do people think they're somehow more important? The judge said "clear the courtroom" you go, don't care who you are, you leave. It seems to be a problem that's increasingly common. Much of it online, brats thinking it's acceptable to attack the public, record it and call it a 'prank' or claiming all over monuments...it drives me crazy!

I love re-watching Lawrence O'Donnell on YT. The supportive comments give me hope for the United States of America. There are no Comment sections on cable. But, and there's always a but,😒 The closed caption and transcript I turn on needs a lot of work. ie. "Red Finch" coming out as 'Redskins'? "I'm sitting there going" came out as 'sooner'? "Creepy" as 'Korea'. So many mistakes, confusing for deaf people who watch, I would think. If this is AI, it needs more work! I turn on closed caption and transcript in case I mis-hear something, apparently my hearing is better than AI and I'm 70!😳
