I woke up this morning wanting to do a deep clean and condition and I found this video after about 2 hours of researching. Thank you for the information and I'm about to wash and do a hot oil treatment.
Thanks for asking. I am new in my lic journey, 5 weeks and I was thinking of doing an oil treatment with the steamer. Hopefully that will help with the itchy scalp I am experiencing.
Can I do a hot oil treatment with every wash, or would that cause build-up? Also, I do deep conditioning treatments on my locs as well so would a hot oil treatment and deep conditioning be overkill?
What are your thoughts on putting oil on the length of your loc, because I spritz with water then apply oil but I heard it not wise to do. Whats your take?
Who told you not to put oil on the shaft of your locs ? When you moisture the locs you have to seal in the moisture with some type of oil. I’ve never heard of that but what I would say of course don’t go overboard cause your hair might get too oily but a little bit is never going to hurt .
@@Chynax_M No, neither have I. I was talking with a friend and her loctician does a protein treatment on her locs once every 3 months. I had never heard of this, I follow you so I was checking. Thank you, though. I love your videos, btw.
Well it depends on what shampoo you use. You have to wash off all the excess oil out of your hair. If done the right way, it shouldn’t strip out all the oil out your locs.
That’s how hot oil treatments work… you put a lot of oils in your hair , you can’t just go walking around with all that oil in your hair . The oil penetrates through the hair in the process, that why it’s a “hot” oil treatment. If it’s done right , when you wash off the excess oil your hair should be left moisturize.
I joined ur channel 😊 cos I love ur locs.my locs is just 5month but I don't knw any style of treatment I will be using am just still on shampoo and lock ND twist cream but it's always dry ND rough after a week of relocking it pls wat can I do
You can keep your hair in a style for a couple of weeks After your relocs. Locs aren’t meant to be snatched and neat always especially at the start of your journey.
ruclips.net/video/jkRVt23dimI/видео.html These are the products I currently use jn this video… only thing is I make my own oils and hair spray, which I will start selling soon . But those products has worked wonderfully for me over the years.
I don’t think there’s a specific amount of time you should do it but of course I wouldn’t do it every week. Maybe once a week , depending on how dry your hair is. Definitely up to you since I don’t know your hair .
Kinda random: but is it just me or are there very few hair oil brands that have cute and aesthetic packaging? Olaplex and Gison have cute packing, but that oil is for a totally different hair texture. I've looked a bit and can't find a brand that offers such for women with locs...maybe i'm too vain 🙈🙈🙈🙈
There are different oils - sealants and moisturizers. JBCO alone grew my thin patch. Some oils penetrate the hair shaft a little bit, while others coat it. This comment was not only a bit rude, it was inaccurate.

So hot oil before wash but what about after a wash ?
I would only do a hot oil treatment before a wash. It is a lot of oil so if it’s not washed out it’ll definitely be a mess.
Can you do an hot oil treatment and deep treatment simultaneously?
Please what are the combination of hot oil treatment
Am new here please my hair is really dry think it need the hot oil treatment
Hey thanks for sharing 👍

Awww thank you and interesting . I mean I’m pretty sure you can do it but idk if I would do it to mine lol
If you shampoo after doing the hot oil .. aren’t you stripping the hair ?
Well it depends on what shampoo you use. You have to wash off all the excess oil out of your hair. If done the right way, it shouldn’t strip out all the oil out your locs.
Is it okay to do hot oil treatment everytime you oil your locs
Wait, why do the hot oil treatment if you're just going to wash it out ??

@@Chynax_M like Doing 2strand twist because mines are so dry I've tried everything and now they're breaking off so I need help😭😭😭😭

Oil is a sealant not a moisturizer ijs
Thanks for stating that but I know . Did I say oil is a moisturizer?
And there are oils that helps moisturize the hair too.
