it starts after he escapes at Al's Toy Barn before he made it to the apartment . Just before buzz was getting ready to cross the street he encountered with zurg (who is unaware that he's a toy) along with 3 Z-bots. They told them to challenge them.but buzz does not have time to fight he just wants to rescue Woody and he try to convince them that their toys. But Zurg and his Z-bots didn't listen. So they start shooting which are too exaggerated. Then he pushes shopping cart at one of them. And later after he caught cross the street with the traffic cone. Zurg and his Z-bots also cross without disguising. Then buzz said the first rule of being a toy is never reveal your identity always take cover. Which he threw a traffic pin at Zurg and the Z-bots. Then later after buzz was following the voices in the vent. Zurg in one last Z-bot follow them in and after the first elevator was about to push up buzz has grown tired and annoyed instead he jumped on the bottom pipes and dividers of the elevator he kicked them both one is sent to the bottom part near the springs where the elevators come down . While Zurg who has wheels has been sent far from here and it fell on the ground till he can get up and have a rematch. Later buzz continue his journey. Until he finally found his friends.

Buzz just walking towards Zurg while he gets "shot" is one of the funniest things I've ever seen and I WISH they had used it for the final movie.
It's like Thanos in infinity war when he arrives at wakanda to obtain the last stone.

That would be hilarious as F. Zurg being oblivious that he's a toy is the key theme of the 1st movie, cause of how Buzz was the same way. Having it played out here would then show how far Buzz has come Development wise. That's why it's funny because Buzz was just so done at this point

This is a universe where all action figures are unaware that their toys before they can redeem themselves. But I would imagine alternately if Zurg ever found out he's just a toy he was still remain evil only to be based on someone else who has slashing thoughts. Like what if he becomes a serial killer where he kills his victims while blending and then creates an army of killer toys those who are abandoned. But unfortunately he was still change his mind cuz in real life some future owners still take them in by revealing that they like villains more than Heroes like they can't play with their toys without a bad guy to play this part.

This is Andy’s Buzz, the one who knows that he’s a toy and that the “shots” from Zurg’s blaster are just Nerf balls. The one who doesn’t has his helmet closed. There’s a difference.

This must be footage from the original direct to video Toy Story 2 before it was redone in 9 months. In the original script for the direct to video version, it shows Buzz and Toy Barn Buzz fighting each other until they clash Zurg out of his box. Buzz just takes the batteries out of Zurg, and Toy Barn Buzz gives Buzz his utility belt. Yeah. You can read the original script online.
You can also tell from the time slot of when this was made that it says 1998. This was a few months before the restart of production, because the restart began in January 1999. An even bigger clue to this being the original movie footage.
When it was direct-to-video, wasn't it in 2D? I highly doubt they'd get enough return profit from a direct-to-video 3D animated film back then. I'm thinking this original script you speak of was still being used when they decided to go theatrical, for a while at least. There's no documentation of the direct-to-video Toy Story 2 being a 3D animated film.
The best way we can tell which Space Ranger action figure of Buzz Lightyear is which is with Andy's name written on his Buzz's foot.

@@ethans9447 Not really. The bottom of his foot isn’t always visible. The best way to tell is because Andy’s Buzz typically keeps his helmet down, whereas Toy Barn Buzz constantly has it up, given he still believes he’s truly a space ranger.

This version seems to be Andy's Buzz who knows he's a toy rather than the toy store Buzz like in the final film. Would've been a fun scene tbh
Ive seen the DVD version of this clip and based on how it was shown, it was suggested to be a test animation, not a deleted scene.
What version of the DVD is it? Like what year the DVD that has the scene in the special features.
@@LuigiTheMetal64 Im not sure but I think it was the 10th anniversary special edition (toy story, Toy Story 2) in which the bonus features of both films were on seperate dvds. but on that disc, there is a clip before this is shown explaining that most of these scenes animated were test animations. Its even said in the commentary that some scenes in the film were based on test animations.
Like the one clip where Bullseye stands up, has his saddle fall off and walks offscreen in embarrassment. that scene is also noted to have been originally a test animation.
But yeah this clip ends up in that compilation and not as a deleted scene

Damn, this scene is great, mainly because of the foreshadowing of Zurg's power module from the game Rex was playing. But I can understand why they didn't use it. Shame too, the reference is more fun with it included.
Fun fact: frank welker voiced Zurg in this deleted scene. But since it will get the people confused for the voice of claw from inspector gadget, they had to change the voice actor.
I thought it sounded like Candy Candido.

I wonder when he got replaced, because he voiced Zurg in Spaceranger Spin at the Magic Kingdom, which opened a year before Toy Story 2 released.

I wish they can turn this deleted scene into a prequel short film called Buz-zurgk( which is a play on word for berserk) like it takes place before he enters Al's apartment where every time he's ready to rescue Woody he keeps being interrupted by Zurg which he doesn't have time to face him.
Those Zyclops from the Lightyear film also said "Buzzurg."
I love how Zurg decides to chase the battery instead of just throwing hands with Buzz.
When You reach the final Boss but You have max Hp thanks to all the side quest.
So I'm guessing the real Buzz faces Zurg in the toy store and would have been finished with those rockem sockem robots. Glad they went with the elevator scene.
Zurg's gun firing is oddly satisfying.
Fun Fact: This footage was actually for the originally made direct-to-video version that was accidently deleted during development. This version had the second Buzz (originally called Ultra Buzz Lightyear 2000) colored black and dark blue, and was only in this scene. Being honored to the real Buzz for defeating Zurg that he gives him his (originally green utility belt to him. This original version of the film must've been scrapped at the last minute because there's actually a Mattel toy for the movie called "Talking Techno-Gear Buzz" which depicts the way Buzz #2 was gonna look for this version.

Since I watched the fourth movie maybe someday in onward or souls they should make a me think a short film prequel about that called Buzz vs zurg like it takes place after the fourth movie when forky ask Buzz if he ever met or fought zurg before . For Buzz he says to forky that it was 10 years ago after he escape Al's toy Barn and just before he's about to cross the street Zurg shows up, buzz tries to convince zurg that he's a toy not a real war Lord, but zurg ignore him and tried to shoot him but Buzz has no effects then he spins Zurg around. And before getting side the vent he throws the traffic cone on his head .then last but not least after following the voices all the way to the elevator he blinds zurg with his laser and kicks him after grabbing the bottom part of the elevator. Sending zurg far from the elevator. After that forky wants Buzz to tell the story again.

I wish this would’ve been in the final cut. Then we would’ve had an interaction with Zurg and the OG Buzz instead of Utility Belt Buzz. Then later on when Zurg catches up to the gang in the elevator, it would be Utility Belt Buzz’s turn to fight Zurg

Obviously, this Buzz was aware that they were both toys. You can tell that Zurg was looking like "Why don't I destroy you?" while he continued shooting.
What should have happened while buzz who thinks he’s a space ranger is using his laser thinking it’s real and zurg using his gun thinking it’s real the normal buzz knowing everyone is a toy and everything is fake he should just be like

Zurg turns around and starts shooting buzz

The way Buzz walks towards Zurg while he gets shot looks similar to Superman Returns, when the shooter tries shooting Superman, but, bullets keep deflecting off him

A softball hurt. Is funny because isn't a letal attack like the videogame, but also is epic for the exagerated resistance of buzz.
I believe this was just a fun little thing some pixar animator did, and was never intended to be in the movie.
