Total respect Andrew. I'm not going to get too preachy or start a debate, I just wanted to say how positive it is to see influencers embracing the no car, no gnar, not far mentality. You are showing that you can find great rides that take you on adventures, maybe not scary full bore adventures, but adventures nonetheless. At the moment I think we need to be supporting each other with this. Hats off to you. If you now take heat over that trail sign then the world really has gone mad!

I’ve just recently banned somebody from the channel as they only ever said negative/judgemental things to me, and I’d rather not have that in my life.

Oh man that brought back memories. I used to ride and race MTB when I lived in a Vermont ski area in the '90s. Rode at least six days a week with my border collie Rocky. Between 30 and 70 miles a day. He was always up for more - even if I was dead. In the afternoons he would play frisbee. They are the most amazing athletes.
Brill Vid. As for the Border Collie. It looks like it does this all the all time. If you notice when in front the dog knows where the trails are.. That reminds me many years ago walking the coastal path from Elgol to Loch Coruisk and back. It was awkward trying to find the correct start route, and we kept stopping to look at the map. We were suddenly joined by a Border Collie. It started to walk in front and kept looking around, if it got to far it stopped and waited. after around 2 miles we finally got onto the path proper. The dog came up to us started playing with us. Then set off back. Talking to locals, they said he does that all the time. Amazing!
You didn’t get a trail dog that day, you got a Guide dog 👍 There is a high chance that these trails are Moki’s walking route, so yeah, he will know them very well indeed.

Absolutely loved this. Great riding as usual and dog living its best life! Really could tell he wanted the company , just brilliant . Ive recently been given an australian kelpie who is 3 years old and had an inkling he would enjoy coming out on the trails. One ride with a lead and now hes a natural , keeping the perfect distance wherever i go, no matter the terrain . Deffo look at that breed if and when you get one pal ... born for it lol
Fantastic scenery topped off by an equally fantastic dog. Keep up the good work. I think us Brits sometimes forget how beautiful our country side is. I have been lucky enough to experience some of it but I know so many people who have been many places abroad but haven't ventured far out of their home towns. Crazy world we live in.

You wanted to get up into the mountains.. which I understand.. but from someone at the opposite end of the country, you really are in a fab little spot for scenery and riding. To have that on your doorstep is great. I love my home in London but boy am I missing riding in locations like this.

@@McTrailRider short local runs are great right now are great for her and kids to get out. Just can't go flat out with them everywhere. She can run 25mph on the flat so no issue with speed.

To be honest, very few dogs actually make for good trail dogs. Even highly intelligent dogs can be useless on the trail. Moki is obviously a natural though 👌
I have a border collie I take biking with me most local rides, she will do 20 miles no problem and an hour later would happily go again 😂 ...trouble is I have made a rod for my own back and she is too fit now so anything less than 5 miles just doesn’t touch the sides anymore 😂😂

I have unfinished business (from 2015 riding a borrowed bike) with a capable bike next time. One place I found (unridable/derelict) was Tayvallich-ish, north west bay where I found some old wooden freeride style kickers. Cool place though. I'm looking forward to the next video. 🙏

At least you are still getting out. I'm still writing at least for the next couple of days. Kids have been pestering to go for a ride and I can't take them. Dog staying at home though.
Moki definitely stole the show, no doubt. The Levo has had a new 180mm Oneup dropper post to replace the useless Specialized one. Hope wheels and brakes that I’ve had for 3 years now along with the 160mm Pikes I’ve had on previous bikes. A new 10 speed Shimano Saint drivetrains 11-36 and finally new Hope f20 pedals.
I'm coming up your way on holiday (Eredine) next year, was thinking of bringing my 29er XC hardtail but not sure where to take it if I do? I usually holiday near Lochearnhead, so new territory for me, any advice welcome!
Any of the trails on Trailforks are worth a look, but you could simply head out onto the forestry roads and have a great day out. Eredine over to Auchindrain would be a good one👍
Hi mate, is this route on your strava? My dads boat is at bellanoch on the canal and we’re up in august (fingers crossed) I’m bringing the bike up and plan to ride round crinan a bit this time.
It does look very good, and the tracking seems to be better as well. I will wait for more reviews though, and I do think the Mavic 3 Pro will be better again. I want to once. Is hate to get this one and then see that I should have waited for the Mavic 3.

I have 4 collies and we do a bit of Bikejor with them but not taken any of them on any MTB rides...hmm... :p

The Levo has had a new 180mm Oneup dropper post to replace the useless Specialized one.
Hope wheels and brakes that I’ve had for 3 years now along with the 160mm Pikes I’ve had on previous bikes.
A new 10 speed Shimano Saint drivetrains 11-36 and finally new Hope f20 pedals.
I'm coming up your way on holiday (Eredine) next year, was thinking of bringing my 29er XC hardtail but not sure where to take it if I do? I usually holiday near Lochearnhead, so new territory for me, any advice welcome!
Any of the trails on Trailforks are worth a look, but you could simply head out onto the forestry roads and have a great day out. Eredine over to Auchindrain would be a good one👍

Hi mate, is this route on your strava? My dads boat is at bellanoch on the canal and we’re up in august (fingers crossed) I’m bringing the bike up and plan to ride round crinan a bit this time.
Unfortunately my Strava failed on this one, will probably do it again soon though.

It does look very good, and the tracking seems to be better as well. I will wait for more reviews though, and I do think the Mavic 3 Pro will be better again.

Yep, just outside Cairnbaan now, but I grew up in Kilmartin! I lived in Rosebank b&b just next to the Cairn restaurant.
@@McTrailRider That's amazing. My mum lives in Castle Park and my brother lives in Lochgilphead. I'm in Melbourne though. Haven't been back for a few years now. My dad was actually born in one of the cottages next to Rosebank. I'll ask mum.
Dad was born in number 8 so pretty much next door.
