Technically, you don’t avoid his death because you have to wait until a second world, but still interesting to see that at least one person could be spared before the party became less bloodthirsty in the later chapters.
I was well aware there different outcomes when a) there was supposed to be a cutscene with the black knight in Edea’s room but I never got it b) when i met the dracula again and wanted to battle him again, the bloody Sage showed up out of nowhere “HEY HEY DON’T FORGET ABOUT ME” which cracked me up. But absolutely i had no idea there was a way of saving this guy. Great video
I wonder if the reason this is the only way for him to survive is because all the other times he fights with the intent to kill, but can't bring himself to kill Edea and holds back as a result, whereas in Way of the Sword, he fights more freely and goes all out, managing to stay alive.
the reason is more that Edea does not wish to kill her master anymore and his battle is reframed as a final test for Edea's training instead of the act of bringing a villain down.
Super cool to see this. All of these little variations and options are why I fell in love with the game, despite so many people writing off chapters 5+ as filler.
I'm so glad that there is finally easy to see footage of this questline! It was a pain in the butt to get this all to work for my Bravely playthrough since there was very little to go on, but it should hopefully flow together fairly well. Awesome work as always, Red! 👍 Also, Autosave is evil!!!
I don't think the order of anything in chapters 3-4 matters at all. I got way of the sword on my first playthrough (didn't even know it was possible for him to die in chapter 6 before now) and I killed him before going to Eternia.
how tf is this a "most hidden cutscene", I just completed the game in the order things being thrown at you and doing all the side quests in every world, and it appeared quite naturally to me. of course you don't recognize all the cut scenes if you start to believe that after doing everything twice you can just skip that blue [!] part of the game

It's kinda uncomfortable how easily the mom is handling Edea killing Braev and Kami during "The Truth of the Matter".
I didn't even realize nor was aware there were alternate paths! I've only ever had my first playthrough, and sometimes I got lost trying to do a NG+.

in chapter 8 you can fight some asterisk holders together its really cool its your party vs 3 asterisk holders or 2 and someone joins
