Still wild to me how the specter bayonet is a straight up worse version of the normal one due to its downsides, but the slate riposte lacks those same downsides making it just a better version
Yea the specter needs some attention or it should be made cheaper at its current state with the slate being in the game.
It does have a longer 1 hit kill range, but the lag of speed doesn't really make up for it.

@@Mustacheoro I never use the slate solely because of its lower range. I can never seem to 1hk with it, when in the meantime specter is a shotgun sniper

i actually discovered you from watching you hold the roof of carmick against 2 teams with a specter slug + uppercut wayyy back in 2020. how far you (and hunt!) have come since then. super nostalgic to see you bring out the good ol’ boy.
I figured out in shooting range when you put the top line from hip fire on the top of their head you have best chance for more 1 shot until out of range since the spread tighter than most ppl think and kinda hit all upper torso that way

Since the event started it often feels like I'm blowing confetti with shotguns, dunno if its the servers, the rain tanking performance or just a lot of players with bad ping but I often have to 2 or 3 tap people so I've just been running the C&K mostly.
Not just you I’ve had countless shots that should have been a clean kill barely even scratch them. Have even had a couple center mass shots not even yield a hit marker

With slugs its not half bad, but man, buckshot feels so random.
Of yes, the specter fur sure has that attractive and reliable spread for one shots. But if you are an aggressive player pushing multiple people or what have you, the slate is just a really seductive gal.

Specter Flechette & oberez is one of my favorite loadouts even though you can’t do traditional shotguns things
Really the only benefit the Specter has over the Slate is flechette rounds since you're not going to notice that extra 1m range. Not sure they can do anything to make it stand out more without over shadowing the romero.
Literally just make it cheaper. That’s how many guns have their place such as the Romero. Contrary to popular belief the C&K has the same OHK range as the Romero so in all regards it’s a much better shotgun, but the Romero is the king of cheap
@@clownworld4655 through testing, it absolutely does not have the same 1hk range. That's a flat out lie.
@@shumatsuplaran7251 do your testing again then. Roughly 12m to the chest is reliably a 1hk same with the Romero. The spread is slightly looser which translates to a higher probability that you won’t get a ohk in situations that the Romero has a slightly better chance and people tend to spam fire and miss with it all the time hence why it doesn’t seem to have the range, but after using it a good amount as a longtime Romero user you can pull off some surprisingly long ohk shots
@@clownworld4655 There is no roughly. We have testing in game now. You can ping exact distances. the romero and specter consistantly ohk at 12, the crown does at 10. The crown CAN one-tap to the chest at 12, but thats only slightly over 50% of the time.
@@shumatsuplaran7251 that’s literally what I did to reach the conclusion. Idk what you’re doing, but I fired over 10 shells at 12m center chest aiming down sights and all did >150 damage

Your first game is why I don't use slugs on the spectre. I prefer buck shot or flachette (flachette out of the spectre is so accurate and has a nice range it puts so much pressure on the other player). The downtime between slug misses is miserable haha

They need to buff the spectre bayounet also fun fact, the Romero hand cannon has a tighter spread compared to crosshair than spectre does

I believe that Specter could use some love. At the moment it's just Slate's grandaddy who barely moves.

thats wrong. specter has the narrowest spread along with the stock romero. I only use specter for buckshot. That is the best buckshot-shotgun of all.
the specter shorty handle except full size barrel with a faster cycle time and 1 less bullet or something, but yeah lol. I am madly prestiging and a connoisseur of sexy recruits so I'm always low on money, so after this event ends and slate becomes locked for me the specter won't be immediately sold for half a vit shot
After @cornf 's video it's clear that all the shotguns really need a readjustment. They're currently not consistent at all
@@huntshowman8202 you might wanna double check that information friend. I recommend cornf video about pennyshot vs buckshot there's plenty of info there for you. You will see the spread comparison at 1:38 (cornf video, not this one).

The slugs economically are overnerfed from back in the day.
A Caldwell handcannon costs 130, its slugs also cost 130.
There is no reason for the insane price and reduced capacity

I actually prefer the specter to the slate, for some reason the slate always lets me down and my luck runs dry, specter and rival for some reason give me good luck and I get fast easy kills

Hornet I think I just did the impossible. I was 4 stars for 3 days struggling to get back to 5, and I drop to 3 stars. I have enough, and have a 9 kill game. I'm 4 stars, next game I get 11kills, and I'm 5stars. I went from 3 stars to 5 stars in two game

Anyone else just incapable of using shotguns in this game? I dont know what it is but they just seem to always tickle people for 9 or 16 damage for me. Im 5* so I know how to hit shots it just never works for me
all shotgun have much smaller spread than the reticle lets on, gotta centre your shots well to do good damage, my shotgun game went up considerably once i realized this

doesn't really matter for slugs but yea the buck is a bit worse
both specter and slate can consistently one hit kill at 12 m with buckshot and with slugs its a 15m vs slate 13.5m difference

I honestly think the Specter is the worst Shotgun in the whole game, no matter what ammo. No weapon has let me down so much like this one and I thought thats like the opinion of most people.

I am going crazy! on paper the Specter is the best shotgun, after the Romero. But I find it as insubstantial as any rifle. With rifles I often point them perfectly at 2 meters even less very close and I don't kill them. But why? am i doing something wrong? it's the fault of the servers and the hitboxes. Or what? Can anyone give me an explanation?
