Decade is soooo insanely good, I never hear anyone talk about this one! It’s the perfect brown (can confirm looks so beautiful tapped in as a stain too) and I think I’ll actually go through it in its entirety! (a rarity given me collection). I feel like you might be into velvet midnight, suuuuuch a stunning vampy shade!
Going to try as a stain too! Velvet Midnight is a must one day. It looks so divine 🖤

Pro tip: the luxury lucent formula doubles perfectly as a blush, it's my favorite way to wear 'night thoughts' spilled across my lips and dabbled across my cheeks.

So fun to see you try on all the Lisa Eldridge lip shades. I love her makeup line. Almost all her lip shades work for everyone, as she is a genius on lip shades and pigments. I love Decade, bc I can get three different looks with it. You've inspired me to do a Lisa Eldridge lipstick round up video! I love Velvet Cinnabar, as it is a more wearable orange for me having a medium/tan warm olive undertone. I wear it so much in the Fall. Too hard to pick my fav LE: V.Ribbon, V. Affair, V.Muse, V.Decade, V. Blush, Painterly...I can't pick just one! Great video!
You’re so right, her shades just suit everyone. The undertones are so thought out. Everyone loves Cinnabar so much, I need to get it ASAP!

I have a few of her other lipsticks and after seeing your video I realize I need to order some of her velvet formula options, specifically the deeper pink tones. I read an earlier comment that suggested using Night Thoughts as a blush so I’ll be trying that. Your hair is stunning btw..thanks again

After much deliberation, I just purchased Velvet Duchess today (online purchase, so I've a few days to wait). Seeing this shade on you confirmed I'd made the right choice. Its vintage appeal and its blue-red tones (teeth friendly) sold it for me. You look beautiful in every shade you sampled. Your high contrast fair complexion and auburn hair - wow; you're stunning.

Haha they recovered pretty quick. Lots of Vaseline. When I looked back on Carnival, it grew on me! 💓

@@evangelinemolly I have Velvet Sorcery. I feel like it looks too cool and brown for my skin tone and in my natural lip colour/undertone. I do agree that it's the perfect 90s lippie. It's a cool brownish pink. I just found that on someone with my skin tone/undertone and natural lip colour, Velvet Sorcery washes me out. I should have gotten Velvet Enchantment and Velvet Rain.
Sometimes when a shade feels too cool or muddy for me, I kinda use it as a lip liner in that I focus it on the edges and blur it into a brighter/more vibrant shade. Maybe you could get a bit of use out of Sorcery that way?
@@evangelinemolly yeah. I use it on the outer edge of my lips and wear either Velvet Affair or Velvet Cinnabar towards the centre for a gradient effect. But when I'm in a mood for the 90s (I'm a 90s kid), I rock it on it's own. 😊 it is a beautiful shade anyway and the formula is a pleasure to wear.

I appreciate your sacrifice, no lie, & I am in LOVE with Sorcery. Really do think the pinks one looked good on you even as tried, with all your warmer makeup. You gave great commentary here and I feel like when I go back to the website to purchase again sometime, I'll have a better grasp on how those shades work on pale skin. Also, maybe try those more dubious Lucent shades as stains-- I have the first 2 Lucents ever released (Love of My Life, Go Lightly); they look quite a bit more bright and hard on me than they appear in videos applied fully, but touched on lightly and blotted in, they're divine.
Just tried blotting night thoughts on softly and it was so pretty!

You should try cinnabar and strawberry shock- given your preferences. We have similar coloring. Cinnabar is my all time favorite (and I have 20+ at this point). Given how many you have I think strawberry shock would be a good summer shade for you.

Jazz and muse were my first purchases. I panned russian red by mac and wanted to replace it with another deep red. Then i used up muse and repurchased along with the gloss and painterly lucent, as neutrals are getting more use in my collection than intense colours. I also got cinnabar and i think you'd love it!
Wow congrats for panning lipsticks! I’ve actually never managed to do that, with the bullet kind anyway. Cinnabar will definitely be mine on day!

Excuse me if I’m mistaken, but to me you look like you have a warm slightly olive undertone! I am the same… I’m also very very fair so it’s been difficult figuring out what works and looks good on me. I’ve been experimenting a lot with new lip colors and I have discovered berry and mauve tones. It looks amazing on olive skin! I love velvet duchess so much on you. You should definitely pick it up. It’s my favorite of hers.
Honestly you may be right since I recently switched to the Lisa Eldridge shade 2.5 (very fair with olive undertones) and it’s the only foundation that’s ever matched my neck! It’s so hard to find fair olive based complexion products though! Have you managed to find any? I totally agree about berries and mauves. They’re some of my favourite go to shades in all makeup products.

The new about face foundation has a great fair olive shade! Maybe also check out the smashbox always on foundation in the shade F10 O🌷
It took me AGES to figure out that I had an olive undertone. Watching Alexandra Anele and Hannah Louise Poston here on youtube was really helpful and informative.
They have heaps of foundation reviews and recommendations👍🏻

Velvet Ribbon is my go to. Best matte red I've ever used. I wish she had the same color in a cream formula.

I love the Decade lip gloss, the bullet formula was a little too deep for me.
I also want Velvet Ribbon and Cinnabar. When I first tried Cinnabar I thought it was too warm but it’s a nice wearable everyday shade that I think you’d like too.

You should definitely get Cinnabar. I have the same coloring as you, when I went to the Lisa Eldridge counter they specially recommended Cinnabar for my coloring since I love red lipsticks. Another one recommend that would be good for you is Velvet Fawn.
Next time I order, I’m definitely getting Cinnabar!! It will be perfect for fall!

Velvet Jazz is so similar to Besame's Red Velvet, have you tried Besame Reds? How are the longevity of LE lipsticks after a meal?
I’ve never tried Besame!! Longevity is decent, with the exception of a super oily meal! I usually find myself surprised how little I have to touch it up

I don't own any Lisa Eldridge lipsticks and probably never will, they're just not in my price range. I totally appreciate how Lisa talks about color and where she draws inspiration from, but a lot of the shades don't speak to me. Velvet Carnival would be the only color I would wear from this video. I like bright and cool shades so the only other shades in her line I would wear are Skyscraper Rose and New Wave.
It’s true she doesn’t have too many ultra vibrant shades! I’m curious to see how her range evolves and what other colours she puts out down the road
I’m into the colors, immediately bought velvet ribbon when it came out, but I never reach for it because it slips and slides all over and really needs a liner, I dunno I WANT to love it but…. Anyone else have this experience?
Oh darn! I usually use a lip brush to get to the corners with Ribbon. Haven’t gotten any of the liners yet so can’t attest to how much it would help. Maybe dabbing the lip on and then blotting would help a bit? Love your username btw 🖤✨

Thank you! I love a deep dive, especially with a brand so beloved and one that I have no experience with. I love Meet Me in Berlin on you, it’s almost shifty, like a tawny plum! I am pretty sure that’s the formula that draws me in.
Velvet Dragon is obviously a classic, as an orange lip lover, it’s very appealing to me, and gorgeous on you. Honestly all these colors are very compelling and rich in their depth. The liquid formula looks more matte to me.
Your poor sweet lips! I hope you have some coconut oil or something soothing on hand.
They all look great, I’m VERY intrigued with buying one of the bullets sometime soon.
