I'm a Sabres fan and have been since they came into existence. I was about thirteen or so at the time, and I've suffered and celebrated through it all - like many other fans have. It's almost impossible to see any sports team, but ESPECIALLY in the NHL, not even make the playoffs for thirteen years. It's one of those things that you almost have to purposely try to do - and I'm NOT suggesting they did anything of the sort, but I'm just saying it's beyond ridiculous. I think they have a solid goaltender now that they are comfortable with, and with this pick HOPEFULLY this will work out better than the last high pick they had who went on to win a cup with Vegas a couple of years ago after he didn't work out or wasn't happy here. Here's hoping. Especially with Lindy back. I always liked him as both a player and coach, but to be honest I was hoping for a fresher face and not a 'nostalgia" hire ...... BUT, I do like him and I'll sit back and see what happens. It's a fantastic franchise, rich in history and it has a wonderful fan base including people from southern Ontario and some from other parts of New York State. Best of luck guys.
I think Adams knows he has to make some bold trades and/or acquisitions through free agents signings OR his job is in jeopardy after this next season. And although Kevyn is a likeable guy sometimes that is to his detriment because sometimes you have to be almost ruthless in your dealings if you want to win in a dog eat dog sport. In other words he may have to OVERPAY to get a player he wants and I'm not so sure that he's willing to part with players he's "fallen in love" with. You look at Florida a few years ago they traded Huberdeau for Tkachuk and that's a bold move that paid off.
So here you have it, Adams explained everything point by point and all the clueless armchair GM’s will continue to bash him. The plan he has for our team is actually incredible and it is our fans that need to get with the program. Look at how competitive the NHL has become. If we actually want to win a Stanley Cup sticking to his plan is probably the only way we’re going to do it.
I like the optimism but you have to respect other fans being frustrated or fans who are weary. He’s done well drafting. The core is already built. Just need some of the complementary pieces and retooling of the bottom 6 and they can make the playoffs. I really think they can. Need ruff to not allow those 6-10 game losing streaks to happen. If they don’t have one or two big stretches of losing then they will push through to at least a wc spot. Yes other takes can be ridiculous but a lot of it is out of frustration. I get it.
Yes, that’s why we need a logical and methodical GM like Adams who doesn’t let frustration or emotion get in the way. If our fans ran this franchise it would collapse in no time.
What’s so methodical about buying out a player without a replacement? He built a bottom six. Big deal. He should’ve done that 2 years ago. It’s not that hard.
Helenius is ready to make the NHL right away i think, once he hits the american ''beef'' and suddenly grows a bigger jaw, he will be 200LBS-205LBS and ready for the 3rd line center position to start. But he also might do one more season in the Liiga.
God bless Sabres 🙌 🙏 let's win more games next year ...wanna see Buffalo win 🏆 Cup ...many Canadians will go to see 👀 playoffs ...jolt to local economy 🏒🥅
Helenius has the ability to be a productive 3C on a scoring line with guys like Benson and Quinn while also playing PK and PP time. 190 lbs already, built like a fire hydrant compared to so many kids. .71 ppg against men and over 50% on faceoffs. This team desperately needed another TRUE center. Right now the C depth chart is Tage, Cozens, Helenius/Ostlund, Krebs, and Wahlberg. Savoie, Benson, Kulich all have reps at center but are almost certainly Wingers at the NHL level
Your right but your wrong. I mean it's not for an effort on Adams part you have to have a dance partner to trade with. My problem is Adams hasn't realized or is unwilling to trade players he has fallen in love with and at the same time he may have to overpay to get players here that are needed to win. He has to part ways with young players we have developed and he may have to give up more it's that simple.
@James our fans are a joke. Adams explains everything point by point and it flies right over their heads. Our fans don’t actually LISTEN to what he says. Our franchise has never seen a proper rebuild all the way through. That’s why we’ve never won a cup. It’s actually remarkable what Adams has achieved in 3 years. Our fans need to get with the program.
And then our fans are so shocked that 5 former Sabres won a cup together. If we would have done things right like Adams is now we would’ve had a great team by now! Reinhart had several years in a row like Dylan Cozens. It’s so sad that our fans haven’t learned a lot the last 13 years.

We aren’t in the phase of our rebuild that Florida was after winning a presidents trophy.
13 years no playoffs is sick smh 🤦🏾♂️

Was his plan to extend a coach & then fire said coach before the extension kicked in part of his great plan?

2024 and they can’t make it so we can hear the questions 😑.

Buffalo can’t build a good team or players don’t want to for Buffalo
Should have gone with Michael Brandsegg-Nygård instead.

So you prefer 4TH line winger over a 2C-3C :DD.
🥱 😴
Kevin Adam’s is a joke. That is all we need 5 first round picks all playing in the minors.

All the armchair GM‘s are literally rolling over in their mom’s basements as we speak.
