Our fans need to embrace everything Adams is saying here. This is a long term project that everyone will see will be worth it within the next few years. The only way the Sabres will probably ever win a cup is growing a young team exactly how Adams is now. We are only one day into free agency and these signings significantly improved our team. Our fans need to also stop looking at stats and offense one dimensionally. Keeping pucks out of our net alone will make up for the loss of Skinner. We also won’t win a cup scoring so many goals on the rush. Florida realized this and even Lindy himself said we have to change how we play offense. Much better off-season so far compared to last. To all the fans screaming gRiT aNd ToUgHnEsS the past several years, we have a legit checking line and a coach who will absolutely not stand for guys not sticking up for each other and working hard every shift. Anyone who thought we were going to be able to sign a star top 6 forward yesterday is delusional. You just like complaining. Get real. We do have talent, they need to stay healthy. Yep. Forwards who can play defensively and regularly forecheck but don't score 30+ goals per season may not be eye candy, but are often necessary for creating those scoring opportunities in the first place. I remember all that stuff that Mike Robitaille preached back in the day, and all of that is still correct. We have guys who can score goals already. They just need more support and a coach that will emphasize improving their ability to play both ends of the ice. Jeff Skinner could score goals, but was a defensive liability, and it's much harder to get a 30+ player in age to start playing a new way when he hasn't done that much before in his career. Thankfully he is a better fit for another team that already has those other things better established.

To have an owner that promised a cup in five years just like Vegas' owner did only Vegas' owner delivered it with the help of the guy WE were told would help us get OURS. and they did it in five years where as we have never done it ever ever ever. We had a coach for I think fifteen years who couldn't win big games or maintain discipline so they fired him and told us they'd make changes to benefit the team and fans but they only made it worse. Now they bring the same mediocre coach back because to them returning to mediocrity will bring the fans back instead of actually striving to win something. And if fans dare complain players and even other fans whine that we have the nerve to expect a little return on the money we invest. We should just buy the tickets watch them lose and be grateful. That's what they expect from us and mediocrity is apparently their highest ambition and we can't even achieve that. Did you know our LONGEST win streak last year was two games and I think we did that twice? Only to be lectured that FANS weren't LOUD ENOUGH or that we complain too much.
