  • In this video I quickly show you how to make a quick and easy DIY piston stop tool for your motorcycle, moped, small engine etc.
    DISCLAIMER: In this example I use the tool to remove a flywheel nut. This is not the most correct tool for this job, and has potential to cause damage to the piston, wrist pin/con rod bearings, etc. if used improperly.

    This tool can also be used to create/check TDC marks on any engine. Just rotate engine against the stopper from both directions, clockwise and counter-C.W.
    TDC is in the middle of these points. In 4-stroke it would be a good idea to do it in compresion/power stroke to avoid valve damage.

    How much of that bolt should go inside the spark plug hole?

    Holding the flywheel to remove by pinning the piston is a risky bet... great tool though!

      Agree, thats why I decided to include that disclaimer in the description. Helpful tool if you are in a pinch but also can be useful for setting timing, etc.
