My first gold coin purchase was a Ducat Happy too see someone show them it make me feel a lot better about my purchase. Thanks for sharing.. Beautiful coins..
My first coin ever was a 1 Ducat. I got it as a gift from my grandmother. Ducats are very liquid here and a lot of people are used to Ducats because their grandparents had Ducats. I think it’s like a feeling of trust. If your grandparents had them they must be good.
Thanks mate. I am happy you liked my new video. :) Ducats are perfect for fractional stackers and people stacking on a budget like me. :) Happy Easter.
@@AustrianStacker I dont like this garbage silver on this video xD Will be cool to see 1/10 vs Ducat on shorts! Size compare etc. Just idea. Happy Easter!
Thank you my friend. I am happy you liked my new video. Ducats are perfect for stacking and well accepted here in Austria and all neighbouring countries. I think they are a perfect alternative to all the bullion coins. Like your Sovereigns. Happy Easter.
I think that modern restrikes are a good alternative to bullion. Usually they are a bit cheaper. Ducats are very liquid here in Austria. Have a great weekend.
Amazed you haven't done a video on the 1 Ducat before. But you are right, this is an excellent fractional choice. I got my first 1 Ducat a couple of weeks ago and now need a tube of them.
1 Ducat coin is noteworthy because in an emergency it wise not to appear with large sums... PS The 4th crusade brought to Venice 8 times the quantity of circulating (in Europe) silver, and about 3 times the equivalent in gold. Venice had become effectively the pawn house of Europe. Very interesting info on the ducat. The only coin that is close to it is the 20 francs rooster but its not new as the restrike of the Austrian mint...
That’s why I am a fractional stacker. I agree that smaller coins are better in emergency situations. If the gold price continues to rise, who will buy a 1 oz coin or bar? 🤷🏻♂️
Not coins I have gotten into yet so great to see these Ducats on your video. Thanks for all the information sharing AS. Cheers and keep on stacking ✌🏻😊
Nice , thank you for the information , was interesting to listen to. those remind me the Gold 10 Austro-Hungarian Corona/Koruna that were made until WW1 , I think same size but different purity (90%) . have a happy Easter !
The Hungarian coins are a great topic. I just have a few but I will also make a video about Hungarian coins one day. 👍 I hope you are doing well my friend. Take care.
I love my 1915 100 Coronas restrike and look forward to collecting the 1 and 4 Ducat fractionals. I can find gold 1 oz bars with lower premiums here in America but these coins are so beautiful. I might buy all my gold in the future in the form of foreign coins because it's doubtful I can get more than spot when I sell so I may as well enjoy them while they're mine.
Restrikes are a great alternative to bullion. 👍 I don’t know how liquid they are in the US. I could sell them within 10 minutes. Even banks are buying them for spot.
@@AustrianStacker its the same here. The bulk of my stack is American constitutional silver which is very desirable. I could sell my gold for spot but unlikely for any more.
Your closing statement is the basis for my argument that tenth ounces are priced too high. Another example of a better buy than a tenth was until the past few months, the half sovereign. They just bang these things out, the premiums on fractional ounces, is just profit taking and profit taking on those who can least afford it, what ch is particularly unchristian.
I agree but you also have to consider liquidity. I am living close to Vienna. I don’t have issues selling Ducats here but that’s different for people in other parts of Austria/CE.
@@AustrianStacker I saw Ducats going at a Sydney dealer's website a few months back for a good price (including our bloody tax on non-999), they didn't stay up for very long. Probably because they're a novelty here and supply and demand plus the get them moving price point. People need to think that gold is gold. But I guess familiarity is important if you're worried about fakes, knowing something's value in the market.
It is difficult for bullion dealers to keep costs down on fractionals. Often the smaller units have the same cost for production and distribution as one-ounce units. I set aside cash in large denominations ($100 USD) until I have enough for an ounce, that way I'm less likely to spend it on something else.
Hey 👍 AS I enjoyed the history behind the Ducut 🪙 I know I told you in the past but I'll mention it again I stacked 21 of the 1 Ducats, they're such a beautiful coin 🪙. More Gold for your money at .1106 ozt.
As long as the premiums were down I prefered 9999 fine but I changed my strategy and bought more Ducats and Crowns recently. As you said, more gold for your money. Have a great day my friend.
Just stumbled across this one and now I’m going to get a gold ducat!
🇦🇹
Hope you are well as we close out 2024! 😉👍🏻
Hello, now is the perfect time to buy Ducats. 😁 I am doing well. Thanks. How has your year been so far?
@ No complaints! Getting a knee replacement in early January, so looking forward to binging on stacking videos during my recuperation. 🤩
@theenglishprofessor8411 Good luck. 🍀 I hope everything goes well.

Perfect alternative for 1/10 if someone want bigger coin. I loved it, have one ducat and saving now for 4 ducat. Thanks for video!

I started stacking with 1 Ducat coins, and I’m still buying them today
Thanks for the video
They are a great alternative to bullion and usually much cheaper. 👍 Thanks for watching.
Great lower-premium fractionals there! That’s great looking gold with a lot of detail!

Great, was looking forward to this. Now you've just got to do wideos on the Crown and the Gulden from Munze Osterreich. 👍
I do the best I can but I will be traveling the next two weeks...
Hahah, I'm not the boss of you dude. I just meant at some point in the future. All the best and Happy Easter.
🤣 Thank you.
I think we pronounce it, duckit here. Makes me think of the Cypress Hill song. “I’m out here riskin' my dome
Just for a bucket, or a fast ducat”
You know that the word Dollar comes from the Austrian word Thaler? 😉
@@AustrianStacker Yes, I have heard that one too. That goes back over 400 years ago.

I have a quite a few Ducats and a couple of the "golden crepe" 4 Ducat coins which I absolutely love, turn them side on and they almost disappear
