I have the Maschine Studio and I must say, I haven't used it since purchasing an iPad. The first app I bought was imaschine2. This app is killer! And yes it has some limitations but that's only to entice you to buy native instrument hardware. I still can't believe they practically gave away all these expansion packs for this app, most of which have totally different song templates from the Maschine Studio software. That's a plus for those who own the hardware already. To add, They're not just gonna give you everything in the app because that would reduce hardware purchases. Native Instruments really knows what they're doing. Thanks for the vid!
+Curtis Griffin Im somewhat of a novice. What do you think is the best app for idiots like me? i like how garage band has a bunch of tracks, how the tracks are laid out (like protools, cubase) and how i can easily i can edit...
+Perfecto Jeffrey That's totally going to depend on what kind of music you're doing and how savvy you are with music software and music in general. Macschine is designed for those who aren't so musically inclined. That being said, if you're not musically inclined, Machine has features that pretty much shows you what chords or scales you're playing. If you need inspiration to write or produce, Machine is the way to go. I've heard good things about garage band as well. Once you know what you're doing with one software, you'll realize that, no one thing is ever enough. No producer in this biz locks himself in to just one workstation.
+Curtis Griffin What's up Curtis? What IPad are you using? I'm thinking about getting a IPad Air 2 and buy IMaschine 2. My fear is that I'll buy a Ipad Air 2 and Imaschine 2 and play with it for a week and then go right back to using the Maschine "Hardware" because Imaschine 2 will feel to much like a "Toy". So... are you making full songs with IMaschine 2 or are you using it as a sketch pad for beats to finish in your Maschine 2 software?
+notsogood I'm running maschine2 on the first iPad mini. Not sure how much different the software is between the pro, air, etc. But it is quite different than the actual software designed for the hardware. I said before that I had not used the hardware since purchasing the iPad mini, but I think that's only because I was learning the software, and also because that's just how I work. I'm a songwriter (lyricist), so I spend most of my time writing to a basic chord progression and a simple beat until the lyrics are complete, then I finish the production end of it on the actual Machine Studio hardware.
...you had me there with the five dollar stylus! Hmm, so beating the iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil would be out of the question? LOL Great video! Keep up the good work!
Dope Video and Good Beat. Just Got the iPad Pro. A) is this your favorite app for making a beat? if not, then what's your favorite? B) Best App for recording vocals (songs) on the iPad?
I got my app download today. And was wondering how you get your track meter to only fill up when you laying tracks down. My track meter automatically has the colors orange yellow green and blue. Yours is blank until to make a beat then it fills up??? Can you help me
I trust you about the number of tracks available. Maybe the next version will solve this. It’s the reason why I don’t buy it. Thanks to RUclipsrs I can have feed back about app’s, before buying. Best regards.
NI just stop the bullshit and just make it have at least 16 tracks and core midi, so you can use an external keyboard, that would put it over the top, even if they charge more it'd be worth it.
That has been N.I.'s M.O. They cripple their software deliberately so that they can get you to buy their bigger ticket items. As you said, we spent money on their hardware but they don't care about that. They want to entice new customers to buy in. When imaschine was first released it was crippled to the point that it didn't have Audiobus, IAA or even basic audio copy/paste. It wasn't until competing products came out that N.I. grudgingly added those features. I don't like companies that design their products around selling other products rather than pushing the envelope and taking advantage of technological advances. There is no way iMaschine should be limited to 4 tracks and not have core midi which is built into the IOS. N.I. made a conscious decision to disable it. They make similar 'decisions' with the desktop versions. Nickel and dimeing customers may lead to short term bottom line gains but in the long run they lose out. I sold my Maschine Studio and will not upgrade to another version of Komplete.
Yo as a producer and a consumer of both #Akai and #NIMaschine there is no way you shouldn't be able to get it cracking with either of these apps I to have the hardware but again these apps are for those who get inspired during those moments at work on your down time chilling at the airport etc and you need to get those ideas down b4 you loose them Hell it is about their other products and of course it's all business again if you are an creator of music then get it going shit I've made music with less options way b4 apps and all these damn daw software programs shit I remember buying the Mpc 2000 and only had 5 sec of sample time way b4 all these freaking presets sounds now these apps have crazy unlimited sample time so umm yeah Just get like #Nike and just do it
+notsogood This Ipad Pro was made for musicians. The screen rel estate is amazing and the pads are the same size if not bigger to your normal analog beat machines. As for is it worth the money I think hell yes lol having all the ipads since the first one i have allays upgraded and seen a good reason to. The ipad pro running apps like Auria Pro and Beat Maker 2 I dont need to be in my thousand dollar studio draining electricity doing pre production lol
Do you need to have the maschine hardware to finish beats made with Imaschine 2 or can you just dump the files into a daw like studio one or logic to touch it up?
Really?? it took you five minutes just to get into it! come on man - “w/out further a’do..” Sorry, it’s just frustrating - time is important - not trying to be disrespectful.
Keep up the good work! Thanks for your great review! Always so helpful!❤️☝️🙏👍🏼😌🎹
Amazing brother! Mobile music producing is the future, no need for expensive software on pc/Mac and a studio. Greets, Emiel.
Finally at last ... Thank you so much. Like some people I bought this app but never used it. I'm now inspired :-)

Derrick Mills definitely
Throw in a Korg gadget with all its plug ins and really get down. I love imaschine 2!!!! Both together are killer
...you had me there with the five dollar stylus! Hmm, so beating the iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil would be out of the question? LOL Great video! Keep up the good work!
Finally, at 4:55 he says "Basically to start off..."
Question or maybe you already did this video, but can you show how to load the sounds into the pads?

Great vid, can you use velocity sensitive midi keyboards with this instead of using the ipad to play on?
Sadly NO
Epic!
Great video & Beat, so if I buy this for my iPhone, I can transfer it to my iPad Pro when pick that up?
LightningStrikes66 you can't transfer your data yes
Shazamm The iPad Producer yeah guess I was just curious if I would have to buy
the app twice 😂
LightningStrikes66 purchase once, free on the other iOS device :)
special sauce & meat & potatoes. sounds good.
How do I customize my sounds? Whenever I try to layer & change groups for different sounds the best that is previously recorded changes with the group
Love this!!!
How do you delete an individual sound on a single pad to replace it with another sound?
NI just stop the bullshit and just make it have at least 16 tracks and core midi, so you can use an external keyboard, that would put it over the top, even if they charge more it'd be worth it.
Yes please lol at least let us use there hardware we spent money on all ready

How big of a difference is it using Imaschine 2 on a Ipad Pro instead of a Ipad or a Ipad mini. Is it really worth the extra money?
+notsogood This Ipad Pro was made for musicians. The screen rel estate is amazing and the pads are the same size if not bigger to your normal analog beat machines. Do you need to have the maschine hardware to finish beats made with Imaschine 2 or can you just dump the files into a daw like studio one or logic to touch it up?
Andrew Williams no sir you don't have to have hardware at all. iTunes file sharing works to get it into any DAW
Machine MK3 or iPad with Imaschine 2?
how do you sample or load your own sounds
Is there any latency? thinking about rockin' this for a live setup (live triggering)
Skape Zilla I've had my ipad pro for over a year now and never a latency problem in any app. This is the bomb for music making!
We want a digital d1 review !!
