Love this group. The Hollies are a British pop rock group formed in 1962 & known for their great harmonies. They had so many hit songs such as "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother", "Bus Stop", "Stop Stop Stop", "On A Carousel", "Carrie Anne", "Here I Go Again", "Look Through Any Window", "King Midas In Reverse", "Jennifer Eccles", "Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress" etc. "Graham Nash" was originally in this group & left in 1968 to form "Crosby, Stills & Nash".
My wife of 43+ years comes to mind with this song. The analogy is so meaningful. Right now she is fighting for her life in the hospital. These reactions help pass the time away. Thanks for a great song.
In the 60's when this song came on in the barn, I would stop milking the cows and walk over to the radio to listen to it, it's one of those songs that makes you stop what ever your doing and listen. The Hollies one of my favorites 😍 check out "He ain't heavy,He's my Brother" another great.👍 Peace✌️ and Love❤️ Gary😊
Your reaction made me so happy. It's always a pleasure to watch young folks to enjoy the music of my generation. Sending love to you all from this Nana in Texas ❤
My two favorites from this wonderful group are this heavenly track and He Ain’t Heavy He’s My Brother. One of the most poignant songs ever written and performed. Long, Cool Woman in a Black Dress is another timeless classic. Their other hits are more early 60’s pop oriented but very tuneful and fun to sing along with.
Hi **Shon** YAY this is one of the MOST **Beautiful** songs EVER!!! it makes me **Cry** **Luvit** **Fantastical Reaction** Ha **Luv** **SpaceGuitar** **PixieHugz&LuvzALL**
Love The Hollies! If you react to "Long Cool Woman (In a Black Dress)" next, I would suggest listening to a video that has the lyrics. I've watched too many reactors struggle to understand the words. It's difficult to get them on a first listen because of how he sings them. But definitely react to it because it is fire! I think my favorite song by them is "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother". Neil Diamond also did a great cover of that song.
Alan Clarke, the lead singer and one of the founding members, grew up with Graham Nash, they were were in grade school together. Graham Nash left the group to form Crosby Stills Nash and sometimes Young.
These guys started out in the British Invasion alongside the Beatles, Kinks, Rolling Stones, Animals and so many other great acts. Graham Nash left to join Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young but the Hollies continued having hits for years after, including this banger.
Way to go Shon really have come to enjoy your reactions to the music I grew up with! I have watched most of your reviews and love seeing you experience these tunes for the first time. I was lucky enough to grow up in a time where groups were able artistically to make the music they wanted to! They weren’t dictated to by record labels to produce songs that untalented record executives thought would sell a lot or target a certain audience. From the sixties to the eighties there was a revolution in music. There was some great music before and after but not as much during that time period. It was also a time when there was a fusion of different styles and types of music creating a dynamic environment for expression and artistic endeavor! Keep up the good work brother and keep exposing younger people to these great songs. It may just lead to a new revolution in music and usher in more freedom of artistic expression and creativity!
when i was 14yrs old in 1974 we would ride around with a friend and everytime Long Cool Woman would come on he would drive fast, which we loved, so every op we had, we would set his 8 track up to play Long Cool Woman when we took off so he would get crazy.
I think, originally, this "Greatest Hits" album came out before they released this single. So for the later CD release, this later hit song was added as a "bonus track."
The Hollies were great. Long Cool Woman, Carrie Ann, Bus Stop, He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother, Jennifer Eccles just to name a few. The original band included Graham Nash of Crosby, Stills, and Nash fame. Thanks for your insight and passion as always.
Ok, “EYES” you sir, and folks that understand depth, and meaning to music and lyrics, I feel, will be the voice of reason, in the years to come. Your love of humanity give this old man hope for tomorrow.
Awesome Reaction to an Awesome Song. In every aspect. Happy to hear it’s your first, because that means you’ve got at least half-a-dozen more Songs from this Band that are as good, or better, in a wide range of genres. Hall of Fame Band in many respects.
Hey Shon, great song... great reaction! I know you listened to Supertramp, the Logical Song... my favorite is Goodbye Stranger on the Breakfast in America album (2010 remastered) ... if you get a chance, I think you'll not only enjoy it, but be impressed!
This one is so good. And as others have also suggested: He Ain't Heavy.....He's my Brother. Love them both, but I'd prob say He Ain't Heavy slightly edges this one out for the win. 🙂
I love your channel, but I have a question - can you tell us something about yourself? You look like a football player but your comments are perceptive and interesting. I think there must be a story there.
You would LOVE "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother". One of the most beautiful songs ever written
Checkout bus stop and He ain’t heavy he’s my brother!!
Wow, forgot about this one. Long cool woman in a black dress might be their biggest hit.
Great song and reaction. Another great Hollies tune: "He Ain't Heavy, He's my Brother"

If there's one thing people most associate with The Hollies, it's their harmonies.

*He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother* is very powerful and moving. The Hollies are underappreciated and were overshadowed by The Beatles.*
kd lang's cover of this song is spectacular.
Another fantastic band from my home city of Manchester. One of my late mum’s favourites ❤
Alan Clarke, the lead singer and one of the founding members, grew up with Graham Nash, they were were in grade school together. Graham Nash left the group to form Crosby Stills Nash and sometimes Young.
Great harmonies!
For some reason to me the Hollies have a timeless sound.
These guys started out in the British Invasion alongside the Beatles, Kinks, Rolling Stones, Animals and so many other great acts. Graham Nash left to join Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young but the Hollies continued having hits for years after, including this banger.
Yeah yeah! React to Bus Stop. You won’t stop singing it once you hear it.
