This was during the D23 Expo, everyone who was in the Parks and Resorts panel got a special viewing ticket to see the first showing
They blew it away!! The DL version needed a reboot, and now I'm about to say it is superior to the WDW show minus stage size. I can't believe I said that. Ugh amazing.
I've seen both in person (not DL 2.0 yet) and felt Disneyland's production is much, much better. To me, I love that the show literally comes out of no where on Tom Sawyer Island and you don't really know what to expect (the first time you see it) as opposed to Disney World's production where you are in a stadium and it's very apparent that you're about to see a show of a certain size.
And THAT is the magic of Disneyland's Fantasmic that DHS will never have.
There's a special Peter Pan tribute in the show. Saw it last night when I watched this show for the first time. If you look closely at the projected moon above the cabin, you can see the silhouettes of Peter Pan, Wendy, John and Micheal flying. In this video, you can find it at 13:47.

Okay, look, Tangled is nice, but Snow White already got her ride taken out in WDW and now she's replaced in Fantasmic? Seriously? None of this would exist without her!
At least her and the prince are still in the finale on the Mark Twain.

I CRIED SO MUCH AT THE TANGELED SCENE!!! I miss mickey waving his hands above his head during the beginning and the end though. That was always so cute lol. Love the new jungle scene!! AH THE SCREAMING PIRATES GIRL YIKES!! I miss Peter :'(( But overall, the show is so good!! The wdw visitors are really missing out bc disneyland fantasmic has always outdone it.

There was an audio glitch at 25:00. The audio cuts from segments because the boat couldn't make it across in time... Interesting...

I was there last night and the audio issue with the finale didn't happen, it is an issue with the video and not with the audio system for the show. Also I was at this performance as well
It is indeed an issue with our video. Just sing it correctly in your head while you watch. :)
You can sing it in your head, the arrangements are more or less the same as the one from 1992. It's just re-orchestrated quite a bit.
yeah I noticed that too, the original music from 1992 (opening and finale) is so much better. This re-orchestrated version doesn't sound as good. I love the updates they've made to the visuals and scenes but not a fan of the new music....
5:32 LOVE THIS PART SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE OLD ONE! They added a lot more energy into this scene, along with super catchy music. Even though the Pirates scene sucks, this scene actually looks better than the old version of the scene.
I loved it! All the new additions and effects were integrated very well into the show! The Pirates scene was my only disappointment. I loved the idea conceptually, but their execution left a LOT to be desired. Having (I'm assuming) Elizabeth yelling at Jack for 2 minutes isn't exactly my idea of an exciting stunt show. Overall, the new show is a net improvement over the last iteration. I can't wait to see it in person next week!

I don't know if I am a fan of the Pirates scene. I liked Peter Pan better, but I guess that have to move forward. I feel like they use the fountains a but much (not the projectors) so it feels like a mini paint the night. Aladdin was pretty cool, though I thought the carpet scene would be a bit longer than it is. All in all it is interesting. Not a big fan of the new music. The singers were a bit much. It looks like they cut Peter Pan from being in the show at all. I don't see him anywhere in there.
Lanibear I completely agree, way too much water screens and I wish they had kept it really dark when the Mark Twain first comes out with the pixie dust. It used to be dazzling.
Brandy Mills I think for the Mark Twain they messed up. It isn't lit usually. I saw some of the videos from the day before and it was dark. It looks like they had some goofs in a few spots because it was on point for the previews, at least what I could see in the videos
There's a hidden tribute to Peter Pan in the show if you can find it. At 13:47 in this video, silhouettes of Peter Pan, and the Darling children fly over the moon before Aladdin and Jasmine take off on their magic carpet.

Something went wrong at the end
The new additions seem shoehorned into the regular show. I don't like the Pirates part. It was Disneyland's Anniversary.
Greg R but Regular Show ended. And it's not owned by Disney. Hehe
Like the new version but love the older version better. Not to hate on the new version but it didn't have to change some of the songs/sounds. Again I like the older version because I did grow up with it and still enjoy it to this day. Some of the new effects are great but some added in sounds just don't feel right. I liked the original show's opening better than this one.

Just watched this on my big screen with my Roku. I like that they combined various genre films together, like Lion King and Jungle Book or Little Mermaid and Finding Nemo.
Agreed-- the new mash-ups are better than the "here's this scene, here's that scene" approach.

the pirates scene needs to be touched up i love the flying in the air effect w the girl but after that its just a mess they just need to figure out a better way to choreograph it

I usually hate to say "well the old version was better." type thing, but it really was. I'm talking specifically about that scene though. Everything else is done much better now except for the pirates scene. I hope they rewrite some of the dialogue specifically.

It’s a good thing the finale is better than the video showed it, because the way it was edited was bad and did not even sync with the choreography at times.
They need to add back Snow Queen. It makes LITERALLY no sense for her to not be there.

Bring Back Peter Pan.
I like what they were trying to do with the Pirates scene, but I don't really think it needs a girl at all. My most invested moment was when Jack was fighting the "ghost" I'm guessing Barbosa on the top railing. This was similar to Peter Pan vs Hook. No one looks at Wendy. The action is the sword fighting. Drop Elizabeth from the action or simply have her pointing/climbing to Jack with his compass- another point I didn't necessarily like. It just seems shoehorned. It's enough to have Jack fighting the ghost pirates. You don't need to add in that he's trying to recover a compass.
I miss Snow White as one of the three main girls- (by the way did they change the audio for the princess songs, because it sounds too modern compared to the old for my taste?) but I like Tangled so it's an even thing. What I think they COULD do is use the opportunity to send out some lanterns towards the audience. Sort of like participation, and man would people fight over them.
...And Bald Mountain still scares the s*** out of me. Fantasia is a great movie to watch with your little ones/culture them about great music, parents. But skip that last one. For God's sake, skip it until they're older.

I also agree with Cynthia. The girl was very obnoxious & the writing for her could've been made less annoying. The scene itself along with the performances were fine, but just the writing was at fault.
have you ever scene the movies? He was trying to get his compass back from her. she stole it. Trust me it sounds dumb but it makes more since if you watch the movies.
Look another Disney projection mapping show. There's two night time projection mapped shows in almost every Disney park now. It's becoming an over used crutch in the place of live performers.
Well this show has been around for ages, so why are you complaining about it now? Was it just a grudge you had for the entire span of the show's life or are you complaining about it now since they added more?
