15-At what age did you learn this craft My answers 1-water; 2-8:30am -noon; 3-for embroidery…Hemingworth or New Brothread; for serger…SureLock; for sewing…either of the previously mentioned; 4-not brand loyal but medium weight Tear-a-way; 5-fabrics that fit that receivers personality; papers/sentiments that fit the occasion; 6-Janome MC350e (I am a disabled Veteran and love that it is light-weight); 7-for sewing they are Arthur Porter; Pat Sloan; Yvonne DeVela Bije (JellyRollClub); Timothy Totten; Nick Verreos; and Evelyn Wood; for paper crafting they are Amy@Altenew; AlandaCrafts; Highlight Crafts; Kimberly Smith @PaperedChef; MayMay; and Ken’sKreations; 8- Easy listening Gospel and Jazz; 9-Curling (flat) iron; 10- I have a sample board/box; 11-Arthur Porter; Nick Verreos, Timothy Totten, or Evelyn Wood or even John Deere for digitizing; 12-embroidered Nativity Tile quilt; 13- collaborate with family/friends in your learning process and as you learn, pass it on to the younger generation that WANT to LEARN that skill (pay it forward); 14- fabric printer or pattern projector; 15- most everyone regardless of sex(gender) begin some sort of crafting as toddlers be it drawing, making paper dolls, Mothers’ Day cards, sand sculpting, etc. Both my grandmothers could utilize a sewing machine and did so for others. My mom did mostly hand-sewing. I became interested in sewing around age 5; my mom’s best friend taught me the basics of crotchet when I was around age 7. Armed with those skills, I taught myself to hand embroidery as well as quilt as a pre-teen. Gardening feeds the family as well as adds beauty. Singing releases endorphins as well as feeds the soul.
