What about exploring different genres, like dnb, since making “natural” drum loops is very difficult to get right. For beginners getting the drums right is difficult, for example the track poor Leno has a strangely organic hihat loop. Edit: Specifically drum loop theory, and the different types of drum loops, the difference between a Felipe Gordon type drum loop and something like a poor Leno type organic-but-still-sampled type loop.
I would love a video on getting the right groove and swing in your track, like for different genre's like techno, melodic techno, hightech minimal etc.
I'll continue saying it until everyone listens: hands down the best music production channel on this or any other platform. Doesn't matter if you make techno, house, hip hop, ambient, noise, dub, whatever your thing is - you WILL learn a LOT by watching this guy. Another fantastic, easy to understand lesson for newbies or seasoned pros. 22 minutes you will both enjoy and learn from. Love it. edit: remember when writing melodies, the silence between notes is as important as the notes themselves. EDIT2: please tell me you're releasing the preset at 17:40 or giving a sound design tutorial for that one specific sound. please.
As a classic piano player for over 20 years and only now beginning to learn the ropes of how digital music production comes together, can I just say how much I'm enjoying your content? It's such a welcome refresher and you bring it across with such dedication and passion, making musical theory seem like complete novelty. :D Thank you, Alice!
Hearing you break all this down, it is apparent just how pivotal Depeche Mode were from 1981 onwards. It became more dance orientated but boy did they kickstart a whole range of sounds that are still around today.
I appreciate that! It indeed takes quite a bit of time preparing, recording and editing these videos lately. But makes me happy to see that people enjoying them 😊
alice, I love your videos, they are so easy to watch and the animations are soo smooth! never stop doing what you doing. even tho i dont consider myself in the same genre as you, i always find things to learn and handy tipps! thank you!
its stupid how good these videos are .literally the best quality you can find on YT. some people should stop paying for expensive music schools and just buy tons of popcorn to watch all your videos 😄
I've only just found this channel and my music making has improved tenfold ! Easy to understand , fast and efficient within the DAW and so creative ! Kudos to you Yalcin !! Awesome !
I cannot describe the love I have for you enough. You are an absolute genius and consistently provide us all with some of the most informative music production videos. So much of my musical growth came from learning from you!
I've been with production for about 18, months. I've been catching up with your videos. I would say I've learned more in a few weeks, than probably, 6 months. I flirt with different genres and some of the tricks I've learned watching your channel I've used to play with different genres and sounds.
Absolutely love "We don't care about the scale because this is techno." 💖 Coming from a classical music background, this is so freeing and fun to hear.
Yalçın your contents were always good, but now with this video editing and focusing on the main idea, I am either learning something or watching a creative music video. Thanks
Wow! Thanks! I have been enjoying your videos and your ambition to the music a lot. But this is the one that triggered an aha moment in my understanding of music theory. I can’t think of a better way to convey this in a such condensed and well-curated way. Much appreciated it! Cheers!
Been into music for a very long time and am working with people who are learning and I feel your material will really help accelerate their learning.. Sharing to goodness..
Just came here to say thank you. Thank you for giving us all this great material and by that enable us to express ourselves musically! That truly comes from the heart and I am glad that you are there ❤️

Congratulations, every day you improve. Right now, I consider you the best youtuber for producers. I've been watching music production videos for years, and for me your videos are the best, clear, short, well made and very well worked. Keep it up, good job. Thanks for the effort.
Yalcin thank you so much for this video, I was looking for a clear explanation of the theory behind melody for techno and this is the best video I've watched so far on the topic!! Merci!

Hey Yalcin, your videos are great. So much content, topics are well describen and illustrated! Looking forward getting more helpful advices and explanations from you. Keep on..!
this is one of the videos that helped me the most and got me to that "aha" moment ! I have played piano for a long time and mostly classical music so to make techno well it's different let's say :D Also I love how the editing of your videos is always getting better and better thank you so much for the work you put into every video, I am forever thankful ! ❤️
Thank you you have the best channel on RUclips for musicians) sorry there are no Russian subtitles but I still watch Спасибо тебе у тебя лучший канал на ютубе для музыкантов) жаль нет русских субтитров но я все равно смотрю) 😊👍🏻
I like the advice of Mouse on Mars. You start with a loop, than play it. A lot. Play it in the background while doing dishes, taking a shower. Live inside the loop. Eventually you will hum or imagine melodies and notice all kinds of subtleties in your loop. Patience really helps. Sometimes I throw a bunch of notes into a sequencer then start removing notes. A melody of some sort will emerge. Have fun and remember there are no wrong notes in electronic music. Only varying degrees of popularity. 😁
Great! Can you tell more on how use chords in TECHNO? I find sometimes a bit tricky to apply "classical music theory" (especially harmony) to dance music stuff.
Amazing youtube channel Yalcin, congrats! Could you make a tutorial about making indie house like the base you created in section "Break back melody"? Thanks!
This is a value bomb 💣✨🤓 gonna rewatch it because there are plenty wisdom nuggets included👌 thank you very much for making the theory of music production so fun💖 sending much fluffy vibes over to you
Awesome channel, gotta say... Hey Yalcin, this a request, pls make a lesson on how to improvise techno like Joris Voorn... I'd most appreciate it... Thx
Hi Yalcin! Im a new sub, and im so glad i found you! Thank you for explaining the Back Melody! i THINK THIS IS OVERLOOKED ALOT OF TIMES IN PRODUCTIONS!!!dO YOUY HAVE A VIDEO ON HOW TO CREATE A TRACK FROM SCRATCH? Like, STARTING WITH A KEY OF A SONG AND THEN BUILDING A MELODY FROM THE MAJOR SCALE(OR MINOR) OF THAT KEY? AND THEN THE bASS AND SUB BASS ETC ETC,(sorry caps!!), And or building a melody from another chord that is in the same key of the song? anyw3ays thank you,Yalcin!!
Which theory video do you want to see next? and did you turn on your notifications? 😊

Seconded on DnB and percussion in general. How to find the right sounds and maybe edit a drum/kick sound to fit a track etc.
I would like a video on Chords and Chord Progressions! A series even, if you are comfortable making it.
How to write solid basslines. please
I would love a video on getting the right groove and swing in your track, like for different genre's like techno, melodic techno, hightech minimal etc.
