One of the best budget stereo speakers ever made. i have a pair of those myself which i bought on second hand for 71,38$ and im very happy that i bought them because i really like the sound quality they delivers. I rock them with Depeche mode, alice cooper, nirvana, dire straits, pink floyd, michael jackson, 70s 80s and 90s disco all day without getting tired. Next time i buy new pair of speakers it will definetely be another B&W

I have owned so many speakers in my 58 years I can't count, always looking for listening nirvana. I run a sealed 12 inch sub with my 602's and have them matched to where I am close to the sound I've always wanted, my Pioneer vsx-56txi and Marantz cd6006 deliver the goods to them. B&W easily one of my go to mains.
I know that you can't really tell how a speakers sounds by watching a video but it seems like the mids and the clarity is better than the newer B&W 600 series
I have a pair of exactly the same 602 s2 in Russia. I had to disassemble it, there was a problem with soldering the large speaker to the connector. Started to jiggle after a couple of years of use. After soldering for almost 20 years the flight is good! I think S2 is the best then S3.
To improve the sound of your speakers get stands that put the tweeters at eye or ear level, make sure the top plate is of equal size of the speaker . When bi-wiring separate the tweeter wire from the bass wire, also use thinner wire for tweeter because it uses less power. ✌🏽2 U
I had similar B&W's boutght 1999...I forgot the exact model. Together with a limited edition of a Rotel Amp+pre-Amp/Equalizer and a MiniDisc Player. Cost me a little fortune...around 5k USD..the speaker cable alone was almost 200 USD haha. Sadly a burgler stole it. These little beasts had more bass than my 15 inch PA Subwoofer lol. I just needed the Subwoofer for some extra powerfull sub-bass when listening to Drum'n'Base.
Hey Artur. You should listen to the 603 S2 first, they are more dinamic than the 603 S3. I own a pair of 603 S2, and i upgraded all the caps and resistors (Mundorf), now they play with less effort and the bass is simply amazing. 603 S2 have bigger and better sound than the S3's. Cheers.

No. I use my PC/Laptop like a audio source connected with usb cable to my E-mu 0404 audio interface, then from e-mu to amplifier i use unbalanced connection, simple aux cable and then from amplifier to speakers i use speakers cables. Its all for audio. Also in my PC/laptop have plugged hdmi cable from tv, there come foobar 2000 media player picture or youtube.
Great video. However, you shouldn't mess around with the tone controls as it destroys other frequencies too. Shouldn't have to do that with a good set-up and speakers. Unless your amp is really attenuated.

хорошо, что у акустика сопротивление 8oм, конечно, ресивер мне не нравится, но надо помнить, что arcam производят серьезные усилители. но Мне нравится что Yamaha THD 0.019% на 100w, arca намного хуже, только 0.5% на 70w. по звуку там будет разница, но не думаю, что там будет большая разница итакое большое yamaha вам не нужно. Я думаю, что лучше вложить деньги в другие колонки, если есть что-то, что не нравится в звучании.

There is two ways: - use optical to analog converter box or - connect PC or laptop to tv with hdmi cable and sound card for amplifier connect with usb.

I need a decent pair of bookshelf speakers, 2 Way, preferably 3 way with decent high and low frequency response, some speakers are good for mids and highs but not for lows much. Can anyone suggest a good pair which shall sound decent at a moderate price.

I haven't decided on a budget but I am not at all a rich guy either, can spend a bit more if I am getting something better. I have grown with 3 Way speakers mostly(8 Ohms, used to believe that 8 Ohms sounds better), but I know if speakers are balanced, even two way sounds great. A 75 watts/channel true output is enough for me, found Magnat brand as decent on specifications aspect but not available here, so suggest me an amp and speakers, love clear mids and highs with good bass, I love a bit more bass, not into studio 'flat' sound perfection, I am quite okay with imperfections, if sound tends to be a bit emphasized towards bass. I am really confused, not an expert either. I love B&W, as a brand of speakers, they are expensive indeed. I prefer stereo mode sound, not into 5.1, 7.1 set ups. I don't have any specific model or brand in my mind, please do suggest.
I don't particularly like Yamahas, but this pairing is a world champion. It is probably the B&W that elevates this performance a lot. It is increasingly clear that the amplifier is a secondary issue in addition to a good DAC and a high-quality speaker. From another point of view, this could be a problem, the manufacturers will have no interest in producing quality.
marantz 7001 is multimedia receiver, but yamaha is real, clean integrated stereo amplifier. If you build home cinema, its okay, but for music I recommend better take what kind of marantz stereo amp.

why have you bi wired the speakers and not the amplifier ?
it's bi-wire, like you say, but for bi-amping need two amps and preamp for control, it's overkill for this kind of speakers.

firstly you need check speaker cables, maybe there is polarity problems.
I use those speakers with a sub on my computer. I drive them with PS Audio Sprout. Sounds great.
