- Really nice run, much happier with this. Still not perfect, but with this game it never will be. Mt Blaze and Sky Tower the bad 2 dungeons, Sky Summit in particular kept it really tense at the end.

And he still had that much energy AFTER getting his butt kicked. I was a stupid 8-year-old when I first beat this game, but that part was kinda funny to realize this time around. XD

Sky Tower is best OST imo...
Also the fact that the title for 1F comes on right when the song kicks up is so aesthetic

+Braxxton Brookshire lel, Explorers of Time and Darkness has another really depressing ending. So, if you were looking to cry some more, you should pick that one up, too.
This is my favorite game of all time, due to childhood memories and the amazing story and gameplay. I actually replayed it like 5 days ago and damn. I'm already so attached to my characters Satan (Charamander, me) and Smeef (squirrel). I also realized how broken Smokescreen is if you link it with another move, like wow.

@@ihihihihihihih4221 to be fair to the game, I remember it having pretty good gameplay. Like, not amazing, but better than explorers. The problem is that it came after sky, and everything that made sky good is substantially worse in gates. Story? Boring and predictable more than any other game I've played. Graphics? It loses the pixilated charm in exchange for mediocre 3d graphics. Music? I don't remember, it's been ages, so I'm not gonna be too harsh on this front. I don't remember it being terrible, just a huge letdown after explorers.
ih ih ih ih ih ih ih because gates is a pmd game, it’s a good game by default. that being said, it’s still nothing compared to rescue team or explorers.
I liked that some moves that are not very useful in the main games were really overpowered here. Smokescreen, bullet seed... Really adds variety to the Pokémon battles. Also i loved the Friend Areas.
Multi hit moves in general are scary as fuck in PMD.
@@AndrewBlechinger yep thats why I choose treeko and skitty for stab bullet seed (your first tm) and double slap makes sweeping the game all that quicker, psyduck works too if flying types annoy you.
@@michaelcollazo7911 Wouldn't you get absolutely destroyed by Moltres? I remember struggling with grass type partners, but if Moltres gets you once he very likely OHKOs you, right? Skitty probably does big damage though. Also, what about the gengar fight? Rayquaza?
@@BygoneT that's why I got psyduck for guys like moltres though and can nail him with a water gun. so I got the fire mons covered with psy and water obviously with treeko.
Scariest moves are agility and screech by far.

Even knowing he enjoys Grand Canyon uplifts me as that's a great track!
Honestly one of the best and most underrated games in this or any franchise. Torn apart by Werster once again :p I'll always have a soft spot for MD, especially the original two.

My favorite part of this so far is how you kept Articuno from using Powder Snow. That move is terrible in normal play.
If only it was possible to do such a thing in Explorers of Sky... Roar of Time pls.

werster you are my favproite speedrunner of all time and running a mystery dungeon game gives you mad respect from me considering that the entire thing is practicly luck based. you are without a doubt the absolute god of running pokemon games

Also, interesting to see that Red & Blue Rescue Team didn't give Pokémon genders, just like Super Mystery Dungeon doesn't, so Attract works on everything.
It's the best thing ever.
i’m replaying red rescue and, even though i’m a treecko w no access to it by level up, i found the tm for attract right before zapdos. you BET YOUR ASS i slapped that thing right on my partner and refused to let any bosses attack me from that point on.
hard to have a moment at the end when everyone was like "a!"

2 hours... That's how long I remember getting stuck on the bosses in this game. All done at level 15/16 too.

I remember playing this game quite a few years ago, I only got to the part with Articuno and never finished the game fully but I still enjoyed it as much as a Pokemon game I actually finished such as Pokemon X

Rayquaza should have known to just blow up the meteor if he noticed that it was fallen towards him.

nintonintendo1 Skitty is really overpowered in this game actually, since Attract and Cute Charm can halt bosses in their place and make them insanely easy.
Werster : I am going to avoid levelling it up so that it doesn't have to go through level up animations twice after beating Skarmory.

thenewcrowXfeather1 I assume it resets the numbers so that you can do certain actions when a favorable number is rolled.
I understand that this is very late, and you may know the answer by now, but quick saving next to the stairs on a floor and re-entering the game basically makes the seed for every floor the same. You know, the bit that got me most upset about this game was actually AFTER the ending, in the post-game where you no longer travel around with your best friend who you LITERALLY STAYED AS A POKÉMON FOR and they just stay in a Friend Residence or whatever, like wtf why don't we spend every day together anymore, I literally changed fucking SPECIES for you and we don't even get to live together anymore?
