As a fellow linguist (and passionate cartographer), I have really enjoyed the thematic content of your videos. Organised, good flow, well-researched and professionally done. Most AMSR videos I have come across tend to consist of unscripted ramblings and poor editing, which makes the quality of yours stand out from the crowd. Furthermore, despite English not being your first language, you speak more clearly, accurately and eruditely than the majority of ASMR clips by native speakers. Thank you for your efforts, I hope this has been as much of a pleasure for you to make as it has for me to watch :)
Hey Zoltan, thanks so much, I'm very happy that you enjoy my style of ASMR! That's really lovely feedback. And yeah, it's true, there's a lot of variety in content and production, but I always try to see it as a good sign. It means there's an active community with few barrieres for anyone wishing to participate, people will encourage each other to become better at what they're doing, and it means there's a greater chance someone will make exactly what I'm looking for (even if searching might take a while haha). And yes, it's a pleasure to make and share these videos with the extremely kind and generous feedback I'm getting! 💖
@@MelangeASMR I really love your videos! I also want to thank you for flipping the negative implications of the original comment into positive ones. I hate seeing people disparage other people creating ASMR videos simply because someone else’s style doesn’t suit them. There is something for everyone, no need to say one is better than another or put others down for their style in order to compliment someone else. You all meet someone’s needs!
I love how relaxing and informative your videos are! As an American, a good deal of the information you presented was new to me. Thank you for the great videos and for teaching me new things as I relax. 😃
You are the ONLY one that has such informative and interesting videos of the world's people and languages, I truly love them all and your voice is so soothing and tingly ☺️. Thank you again for your wonderful videos.
i never get headaches but for some reason i have had one for almost 12 hours now & i would say 30 seconds into this video , it is subsiding . so i thank u 💕✨
I love your videos. Every second is joy, but I do especially love your hand movements and when you brush the pages with your hands. It not only creates a great sound, but I feel like your gentle way of doing it demonstrates your love and respect for the books/maps and their fascinating content. Thanks again for all you do.
I had to come back to the comments to say that I’ve probably fallen asleep to this at least 6 different nights now! I don’t usually full on fall asleep from ASMR, it’s rare! So thank you again for this treat 💕🌈
Yes, that's a very good observation and I think something really important to be aware of. On a lot of maps, Greenland looks bigger than all of Africa and that's really not the case in reality.
I have a degree in medieval literature and have lived in London and I learned so ouch from this video!!! I did not want it to end. More please!!!!!!!!!!
For those who do not know: The reason we don’t say Hamito languages is because it is a Biblical-based term, as is Semitic (and in an effort to not center the Bible in non-religious things and be more inclusive of the entire world, academics use BCE/CE instead of BC/AD, and other terms that aren’t rooted in Biblical theology), but also it is rooted in the Curse of Ham-the Christian theology used as justification for treating Africans as lesser humans who could and should be enslaved. In short, an excuse for racism. So it’s not a term used anymore. :) Afroasiatic is the proper term.
Hey, if you're looking for suggestions I would love to see a video on Inuktitut and other North Americas Indigenous languages. It's fascinating (and real confusing for someone who's not skilled with languages) :)
I'm always open to suggestions, thank you! And yes, Native American languages is definitely something that's going to happen, I just have some reading to do :)
What do you mean "only German"? It is such a difficult language to learn! But if you switch to Dutch or Swedish after that, you'll definitely have an advantage.
I think this one sadly hasn't been translated into English (half the book is German-language puns,so somewhat understandable haha), but most of the books I use, I get second hand. It's worth digging around a bit! I'm sure you'll be able to find many beautiful ones :)
Danke für deine Videos. Ich lerne sowohl etwas Geschichte als auch erweitere mein Englisch ;) ( diesen Kommentar schreibe ich als non-native german speaker :))
Translating between English (native) and German (learned in HS and College) always confused me since the sentence structure is a lot different, even after years of learning it.
I had a class mate from Iraq who actually spoke Aramaic, because her family originally was Assyrian and she's a Christian so it was important to her family and ancestors to spoke the language of Jesus.
Poor New Zealand…. Always being left off maps 😂. And no Pacific Islands? And what about Pama-Nyungan, the Australian First Nations language group? I can find nothing about its origins other than it began spreading rapidly around 5000 years ago. No idea what it is related to
Hah yeah, it's a bit of a specific map. The language families are listed by number of speakers, not by number of included languages, so that's why they didn't include all parts of the world.

I love when the camera moves slightly, really adds to the ASMR. Also your voice, movements and aesthetic is so soothing!

Another very nice video. Love books/maps and knowledge. Melange you have a great asmr voice.
Love to hear this, thank you!
As an Austronesian/Malay Race I would like to say thank you for cover up our history even it just a little ❤️❤️
💖💖 My pleasure! I don't know very much about that area of the world, sadly, so it was a really fascinating read!

your videos are PERFECT! I only have one criticism, that they're just way too interesting to fall asleep to 😂
Noooo pick the boring ones!!
You’ve just got yourself a new subscriber melange! Excellent channel.
Thank you very much and welcome!
This is fantastic. I love learning from you. Thanks.
Lovely video, relaxing and educational. Are you a linguist of some kind? Really enjoy all your language-related videos.
Thank you! Not a linguist per se, it's more of a fascination that's come with trying to learn new languages.
Just when I thought I was getting immune for ASMR, I found your videos😍😍😍
Oh yay, that makes me very happy! 😍💗💖
New personal favourite video, great job.
Thank you, Garreth!
This is the exact style and topic that I have been waiting forrrr 💕💕💕 I love language facts!
Yayyyyy! 💖

You must have a great home library because the books you use for your videos are always interesting. Thanks for another great video!
By now my friends know what kind of books to get me haha 🙏 Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy them.
You find the best books! Loved everything about this video, maps especially!
Right, this book is just perfect for it! It was a gift from a friend who appears to know me extremly well haha. Thank you so much 🌻
Germanic languages are so beautiful. I would love to learn them all. I could learn only german up to present. But i will learn dutch and swedish, too.

I could help with Dutch! It's my native language after all. I'm shit at German tho, I can sort of understand it.
I am a new subscriber but love all your content! Reminds me of the french whisper and lets find out asmr. Cant wait to see you grow!!
Hi Amanda, thank you for subscribing and for your lovely comment 🧡 I love those two creators, so that's very high praise!! 😨
French Whisperer and Let's Find Out, along with ASMRctica, were my top 3 for so long, but Melange has fired herself straight to no. 1!
Lovely video, very interesting :)

how did I end up learning while relaxing wtf
It's a nice combo, no?

Impressive. Very nice
very good work!
Thank you!
Just wonderful…Love form turkey❤
Translating between English (native) and German (learned in HS and College) always confused me since the sentence structure is a lot different, even after years of learning it.
Yeah, I actually find it easier to translate between English and French which you'd think should be further apart linguistically.
whats the name of the book
And Hebrew? From where?
Fun fact aramaic is actually still spoken! Its spoken by assyrians all over Mesopotamia!
Whaaat, I had no idea! 😍😍😍😍😍

I haven't. I feel like my nails don't look great because I use so much nail polish 😅
