Thanks for your reviews. My family owns a 19 outback, 20 and 21 Crosstrek. As a result of seeing my cars my neighbor bought a 22 Crosstrek! We love them all. But I have one question: why doesn’t the Crosstrek have a fold down sunglass holder in the overhead console like the Outback? That’s the one lack of feature that drives me nuts! Also, just a PSA on the lane centering feature: I only use it on the highway because once when I had it on while driving locally, I moved to the left slightly to avoid hitting a guy riding his bike on the shoulder and as I began to pass him, the sensors activated since my tire hit the center stripe and began pulling me back almost hitting the guy! I had to jerk the wheel left to avoid hitting him! Since then, I don’t use it around town since the streets are narrower.

To keep the cost down. There are lots of features we would like to see (2.4L Turbo) but never will cause Subaru wants folks to buy their other models for such comforts. Biggest thing about the CT is the price both to purchase and own. That is why it's Subaru best seller.

My wife picked up her new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek wilderness last week. We had the cross bars put on the roof and tow package $1600.00. She loves it. We were surprised that it not come with the heated steering wheel. We also got the ceramic paint and 100k extended warranty. 42k with top trim, cross bars for roof, tow package, extended warranty and taxes. Our dealership offered free oil charges for life.

Hey Alex, or does anyone know, why the Xtrek Wilderness uses 17" rims as opposed to the 18" used on the Sport and Limited models? If it's for increaced side wall use off road (trail), why compromise the Sport and Limited? Aren't they also for intended for off road (trail) use? Judging by by their factory groud clearance. Doesn't make sense to give a car 1" more ground clearance by increasing rim size and then take it away in the side wall height?

    • @messmeister92

They are, but not compared to what the Wilderness is meant to do. Those are designed more for the road. The sport is for people who may be active and want an easy car to clean, not a ton of options, but is still comfortable. The limited is for people who prioritize comfort and features.

Every winter she would have to park her Camry, drive my Toyota RAV4 4WD Limited and I’d have to drive our 4WD pickup.
I was looking for a new Outback that was Cinnamon Brown with Ivory interior when I found her 19 Outback with only 5,600 miles.
It was in Tacoma (a 5 hour round trip) but I saved $5K. It was 2 years old when I bought it for her.
She Loves her Outback until I bought my Forester Touring. She likes how high the seats are in my Forester and the size better than her Outback.
I wanted to buy her a Limited or a Touring because of the leather interior but she wanted cloth, so I bought her the Premium Model.
Now that she’s seen how nice the leather is on my Forester, she’s wishing she would have asked me for a higher trim level.
Since the Forester will be redesigned for the 25 year model and available with the Rav4 hybrid system, we’ll wait for the 26-27 year model (to get the bugs worked out) and sell her Outback to one of her brothers so we can buy her the Forester Touring Hybrid.
By the time we’re ready to sell her Outback it should have about 50K miles. Her brother has told us that he’ll buy it from us, as he knows that I’m a maintenance Nut.
One thing about Subaru’s is that you’ll need to change the oil and filter Every 5K miles. (Subaru says to change the oil every 6K miles , but please change it EVERY 5K miles).
I use Valvoline High Mileage Full Synthetic Oil. The High Mileage Oil has additives that have better wear protection so there’s less wear on your engine.
Also CHANGE the CVT Transmission Fluid EVERY 60K miles. Subaru says that the CVT fluid never needs to be changed, but that’s a Lie. To replace the CVT costs about $8K, so changing the fluid every 60K miles is a lot cheaper than replacing the transmission.
Also have the front and rear differential, and transfer case grease changed every 30K miles, as well as bleed the brakes.
I change the front and rear differential, transfer case and transmission fluid every 30K miles on our 13 year old 4WD pickup.
Because you live in AR and you tend to get a lot of heat, change the antifreeze every 3 years.
Sorry if I sound like I’m being bossy but I’m just trying to look out for you so you’ll get the most mileage out of your Subie.
Enjoy your day and may God Bless You !
      Doc

IMO, the Wilderness trim has way too much plastic on the sides and back.

That's Incase you break stuff while off roading... And some come in multiple pieces so it's cheaper to fix.... 😅

I also wonder if it will be more difficult to clean and will water get behind there and rust the metal like it does with the Chevy Avalanches.

I have the front camera on my outback wilderness. I use it everyday for parking lots and positioning in my garage. Would add it to all my cars from now on.

@layne4376 LOL. Should we go over all the currently available drivers aids that" absolutely isn't necessary?" Maybe we could go down to the local Walmart and see how many vehicles are parked forward of their parking stalls. Maybe we could check the front spoiler of every low car ( virtually all of them) to see they are scraped from driving to far forward over curbs. All I said was I have a front camera and love it. Sorry if having a different perspective than you upset you. Have a great day.

If you're not a fan of the cladding, the Impreza shares the same body style without the cladding. It's just lower to the ground.

    Whats the difference?
Lets look at the oVeR sIzEd Body cladding that looks absolutely horrible on this thing...
Subaru next year why don't you double down and go another foot higher with that ugly trash...
Crosstrek is a step backwards this year... No Beeps for locking the door ... Blind Spot lights are almost gone completely, the Pleather has been removed and what is up with the Seat head rests not being able to move forward anymore?
Subaru Cheap Toyota alternative for boomers?

Great vid Alex. I'm wondering though when Android users driving earlier than 2023 model Subarus will receive full screen support. Last I heard it was due for an August update but here were are 🫤
