This video and your narration was soooo therapeutic! I am transported to another world... I just might come back to this video every now and then to feel what I feel right now!
There I was, laying in bed quite restless and stressed from the day. When all of a sudden I get the urge to check my subscriptions. Nothing makes me happier during low times than to watch your videos. And tonight stumbled upon a new one! Keep up the fantastic work, Chris
Thank you Allysse 🙂 I guess that's the best thing about going somewhere sunny, you get nice colours in your photos 🙂 I need to take advantage of the great weather right now - I hope you haven't just been shooting b/w in the sun. Actually though - even b/w looks better with some sunshine.
So nostalgic and almost surreal even. I think you have found your Nirvana . Kudos to you . Beautiful renditions of what your eyes saw and what your heart felt. Please post more !
Thanks. Help me me make my mind up about what to take for a few days abroad, a recently acquired original X100 or my usual MFT bag with lenses. I have loved the simplicity of having to use just one focal length so, I'm going to give it a go.
For just a few days abroad it's a fantastic chance to try one camera, one lens. I really recommend it. It's very liberating. Just make sure to take enough batteries 🙂
Great video. I was watching it because I'm not sure yet whether I only take my x100v with me on the next city trip (to Copenhagen), but this video really helps making a decision. Love the photos and indeed the fact that it's so liberating to not think of the choice of lens all the time.
Thank you very much Inge. I'm glad the video inspired you to take just the X100 and not the other way around :-) I certainly hate having so many lenses and accessories, it's really nice to not have the choice. Enjoy Copenhagen!
Wonderful pictures and wonderful words, Chris! There‘s nothing to add. And for me the X100 series cameras are the best (digital) cameras ever made! I love my X100F so much :)
Wonderful and beautiful shots as always Chris! I think my favorite was the photo from inside a train (?) looking out at the orange red horizon... but they’re all great 👏👏
Beautiful shots as always. You don't take a photo of what's obvious, so creative with your art. I find your channel very inspiring. I just followed you on instagram, I'm a huge fan 😊
Majority of the time I take photos of random things too, that's my way of practicing as well. Every place I go turns into a playground when I have my camera with me. Thank you so much I feel connected with your art 👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥❤❤❤
You have made my choice very simple in purchasing the new X100V . I will be traveling to Mexico in April and hope it releases in time . Excited to hear the release date on Tuesday. Like you said , it gets way too complicated thinking about what gear you are going to bring during travels.
I'm glad to have helped Darren, thank you. If you want a little more versatility the lens converters are great - I especially like the wide one and it's tiny, so hardly takes up any space at all.
I gave up Mt X100F for the ever so slightly bigger X-T30, mainly for the flexibility of interchangeable lenses. I guess it's just me wanting to have my cake and and eat it too as i bite off various X system lenses based arbitrarily upon my "street mood." There's something about setting yourself up for that future shot before leaving the house that keeps me celebrating the character of each of Fuji's great lenses that keeps the creative juices flowing. Meanwhile another great video Chris. Let me know when you come back to NYC and if you would join me for some street photography!
Thank you Scott. You're right - the XT30 plus a small lens really isn't much bigger and the flexibility can be great. I have the XT3 and don't even find that too big to carry around. I really can't wait to go back to New York - i was thinking of this summer, but that might not happen I don't think - but someday soon I hope. Some NY street photography would be great.
Thank you. I really must post something going into more detail, but more often than not I use an Ektar or Portra film simulation and play around from there. I have more recently been using Classic Chrome with the saturation up. I tend to add a little contrast and never add much clarity. Just until it feels OK. Thank you 👍
I do add a bit of grain in Lightroom, I really like how that feels. I also play around with different simulations until it feels about right. There's no need for digital pictures to stay looking plain and digital :-)
After your video, I bought the original x100 - and created the same video - well, it seems nice, isn't it magic?)) Hogwarts magic and a little photo)))
Hi Chris and thanks for this video - some excellent images as usual. Coincidentally I’m just deciding which camera to take on my holiday to Portugal and like you, like to travel light and be discreet. My girlfriend offered me her Fuji X100F - a lovely little camera and I love Fuji (I have the XPro 2 and usually pair it with the brilliant 56mm 1.2 lens) but doing test shots with the 100F against my P20 Pro smartphone, I really struggle to see the logic of carrying that around, when my phone produces images of what I consider to be equal quality....and in very low light, the Night Mode can’t be touched by even good DSLR’s. So playing Devils Advocate, is there really a place now for “Point and Shoot” type cameras anymore? - as I get older I’m more and more convinced it’s all about the image.....as your pictures demonstrate, rather than the gear....anyone want to buy a GH5? :- )
Thanks Peter, that's a really good point. I had written a few lines about mobile phone cameras, but left it out. I have the Pixel 2 and that's a fantastic camera too - the night mode on that is crazy. It uses a more computational way of arriving at an image, but I just laughed at how good it was at first. I do think there's a place for compact cameras, but there's no doubt that the gap between them and mobiles is closing. And you can debate which is even catching up with which :-) But for a shallow depth of field I do prefer that done optically. I would have to have a play with the P20 Pro - but I've only heard great things.
Chris Boland - I’ve not tried one, but I have seen many reports saying the Pixel has the best camera. It would be interesting to take a series of photos with both and seeing if your Subscribers can discern any significant difference. The biggest advantage of course is that the camera phone is always with you.....well, most people.
This video and your narration was soooo therapeutic! I am transported to another world...

Hey Neelofur, thank you very much! 🙂
Subscribe and I'll be happy forever.

Thank you very very much. That really means a lot to me. I will keep making them 🙂
I just got the x100V and it’s my favorite camera of all time. The X100 series is the best!
I love the X100. I don't have one right now, but I miss it :-)
I love the colours in your shots. They are so warm and full. It made me feel like I was there with you in summer heat and holiday mode.
Beautiful images. Bravo!
Thank you Gary!

Thanks so much, I will keep posting 🙂
I enjoy every time you publish a new video. They sweeten my day and slow down. Thank you
Thank you Günther, that's really kind ✌️
It's always good to watch your videos. It's a moment of true beauty and inspiration. Thank you.
Thank you so much Vincenzina 👍🙏
Thank you for sharing your incredible voyage with us!
Thanks so much Christian.
The lens was upgraded with the X100V. The same original lens was used on the original X100 up through the F.
That's right, the latest version looks fantastic 🙂
Thanks for sharing your absolutely amazing photos with us and love every second of this video.Love from Malaysia.
Thanks so much for the very kind comment 🙂 It really made me happy to know you enjoyed it. Thank you 👍
Thanks Chris for another inspiring video, so relaxing watching great photos from original Fuji X100 - it is my Christmas wish... Have a great day.
Thank you!

Thank you very much Fran!
Nice vidéo, very beautiful, Pictures; thanks Chris
Thank you very much David 👍
I love your comment about the “liberation restrictiveness.” That is so true.
I just ordered the original x100 and I’m looking forward to it
Thank you 🙂 I don't actually have an X100 right now, but I really miss it! You'll enjoy it I'm sure.

Wonderful pictures and wonderful words, Chris! There‘s nothing to add.
And for me the X100 series cameras are the best (digital) cameras ever made! I love my X100F so much :)
Thank you :-) The X100F is really special, it just feels great to use.
I really wish you'd do a video on your some of your editing approaches. Your colours are just the best.
Thank you Hampus, I will try and do this.
The first time I saw a X100F, I thought that it was a toy camera. But when I took it up, I fall in love
🙂 I know what you mean - it's so much smaller than say the XPro and a lens. But it's a really special camera.
What a great video 👍👍
Thank you!
Lovely pictures and wise thoughts, as always!
Thanks a lot Adrián 👍!
Great images as usual Chris
Thanks a lot Craig 👍
Beautiful photos and thoughts. Glad I have found and subscribed to your channel.
Thank you again, I'm so glad you like the videos and found the channel. Best wishes, Chris 🙂
phantastic
Thank you!
Wonderful and beautiful shots as always Chris! I think my favorite was the photo from inside a train (?) looking out at the orange red horizon... but they’re all great 👏👏
Thank you Khoi! That train was somewhere between Miami and New York :-)

I'm just about the place that you describe so well: traveling light with photography and the optimistic of shooting daily ;)
That's great to hear Ricardo. I definitely complicate things a lot of the time, but I'm trying :-)
Nice work!
Thanks 🙂👍
Great
Thank you!
Love from India 🇮🇳 💕
Thank you Sumeet! 🙂
Is there a chance you could show us how you edited these pictures (if you even did) anyway, great pictures

Do you visited Bangalore at 0:25 Kannada letters are there.
Hi Suresh, yes I did 🙂 Here are my pictures from Bangalore - ruclips.net/video/fbAhA8LMzjQ/видео.html
Also, how do you almost always get those grainy film like shots?
I do add a bit of grain in Lightroom, I really like how that feels. I also play around with different simulations until it feels about right. There's no need for digital pictures to stay looking plain and digital :-)
nice job man
Thank you Nazarii :-)
